I actually agree with you. If he can't leave her alone for a few months without her shacking up with someone else then the whole thing is doomed anyway.
Good lord, could Blair possibly be any more insensitive? Why is Serena even still friends with this chick?
I did have a hearty LOL at all the things Blair listed off as being important in a relationship. Trust, sex, hygiene, earning potential. Looks like Humphrey's 0/4.
"Good lord, could Blair possibly be any more insensitive? Why is Serena even still friends with this chick?"
At this point, I don't know why anyone could stand to be in the same room with either of the Van der Woodsen women. They're both awful. They've become the villains on this show.
I've been so proud of Dan recently for standing on his own two feet and going after what he wants - but if he doesn't go to Rome, I'm going to have to do a complete reassessment of that opinion. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and things like this don't just fall out of the sky. If he's too insecure to leave his girlfriend for a few months for something this huge, he's in more trouble than I thought.
As you should. Somehow, Gossip Girl has managed to make Lily much much worse than she was even at the beginning of the series.
When the show started, Lily was someone whose worst qualities were her snobbishness, her elitism, and her materialistic nature. Over the course of the series, she's devolved into someone who puts an innocent person in prison, gets her own sister charged with a felony, steals someones rightful inheritance worth up to eight or nine figures, and has no problem treating everyone like garbage no matter who they are.
I feel like that's who she's always been. She put Ben in prison before the start of the series, and you said that she's materialistic and elitist, so everything she's done regarding the inheritance are things that she would have done anyway. I feel like she's been pretty consistent in her behavior throughout the series. I think it would be disingenuous for Lily to come out of all of looking like a good person. Lily is the same as all the other terrible people on the UES and it's just being displayed more.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good villian like everyone else (here, OMG, I love Diana. I wish she'd be MY mom lol). But Lily cared about other ppl before. Her son, her daughter (sort of), Chuck, Rufus. Now she's all heartless!
That still doesn't dismiss that she's always been this person that she is now. Even if she was wasn't always this bad, it still doesn't make sense to go "Why is she getting worse?" Because she's always been a bad person.
I'm not asking why she's getting worse. I'm pissed that the writers keep making her worse and worse yet refuse to actually acknowledge that she's become a villain on this show. The writers seem to be in denial of their own creation.
I think she still cares about her children, she just doesn't do the right things. She does what she thinks is right, and whenever someone does something that she thinks threatens her family/children/herself, she goes after them, even if it's her children's father and her sister (whom she's never really gotten along with anyway).
Maybe that's because they don't think of her as a villain but more so just human. They've said before that they look at the characters as living, breathing people, so in that sense, they are going to have them be complex and have issues, much the same way as Chuck in the first half of the series.
chuck is her soul mate like dawson and joey !!! and like dawson and joey they don't work in the end as a couple because they bring the worst in each other
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
That moron better change his mind.

I hate what they've done to Lily.

o boy, boring Blair is back =(
ReplyDeletei had such high hopes after this week's episode

ReplyDeleteLily was never a saint.

ReplyDeleteSee the coincidence? Blair with CHuck = interesting, Blair with Dan = annoying. ^^
ReplyDelete"She put Ben in prison before the start of the series"
ReplyDeleteThat was written for the character four seasons into the series. When the writers say she did it is of no consequence.
Blair better stay in NYC with Chuck. Don't go to Rome with Dan, B. He's boring as watching beige paint dry. Chuck is your soul mate.
ReplyDelete1- I'm sick with Dair is soooooo annoying. makes the character of Blair is
ReplyDeletethe most boring of the series
2- We will miss Diana Payne
3- I Love the new Lily and Serena are so bitch!
4- Georgina is Back!

ReplyDeleteDan needs to go to Rome so Chuck and Blair can get back together!!

ReplyDeleteIn that case, Lily becoming the new Chuck is an indication of how far this show has fallen from its creative highpoint. :)

According to ... you?? A Chair shipper?? Do you want to ask to Dair shippers?? Just to see...
ReplyDeleteAMEN!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Blair,Serena's outfit rocks!
ReplyDeleteI got 15 Likes. Just saying. I think I'm not the only one with that opinion then.
