  1. Another one that didn't sound bad but after watching this I am not sold on it. Might just give it a pass. Or at least wait on some reviews and word of mouth.

  2. I was looking forward to it. Now, I'm not...

  3. I'm excited for this! Wish they hadn't left it for midseason, though.

  4. This looks decent, but it seems like they're promoting it more as a film than a TV show... it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

  5. This actually looks like it could be pretty entertaining.

  7. Too bad The Goodwin Games was held until midseason.

I am much more excited for this one than for Ben & Kate or The Mindy Project. The Goodwin Games has a really cool concept with a lot of potential on the long term, for a comedy it's very high concept, which reminds me of... HIMYM.

Sure, I might not be as big a fan of HIMYM as I was during seasons 1-3, but the "from the creators of How I Met Your Mother" does it for me. For a CBS multi-camera sitcom HIMYM was a very different (TBBT, for instance, is much more usual (didn't say it was less funny)) and it looks like Bays & Thomas  got another cool idea with this one.

Bays & Thomas seem to like setting an endgame to the premise of their shows : the story of how Ted met his children's wife, the inheritance of papa Goodwin when all his children pass the challenges he prepared for them. You know where you're getting at, you just don't know when or how, I like that.

Plus Becky Newton is purty. Yep, that show seems like a keeper, I can't wait to see it. With this show and The Following, FOX has got two very nice midseason shows, let's hope they will work out.

  8. Ha, we have a Trivial Pursuit box in our basement that looks just as beat up as that one. Another sibling show. Hey, two new sibling shows in a season--it's a trend.

  9. This is an interesting concept but the writing makes it seem less promising than it should be.  Seems like another short term project for Becki Newton.

  10. It looks really nice!

  11. Considering who made it, I will give it a go. Also, they have plenty of time to make what we saw above into decent series, though I really don't see how the premise can go further than the three reconnecting, which is 13 eps tops. But we'll see.

  12. On the fence about this one, seems like it could play as a comedy movie not sure as a series... or  perhaps it's that a lot of the Fox promos feel like movie trailers to me... lol

  13. this actually looks kind of funny and decent.

  14. I had not thought of how limited the premise is honestly, but it does seem like it should go for one season only.

My guess is that if it is renewed there will be a new video tape for each season that starts them off on some new stage of the Goodwin Games trying to win their inheritance.

That could get old fast, but if they make the show well I could probably forgive that for at least a few seasons....

    1. How I meet you mother is kind of limited as well yet they were able to stretch it out until today with a opus fan base and solid ratings. Im looking forward to this looks so good, midseason is so far away. I hope if they cancel anything this could get bumped up

  15. Doesn't look that great but I'll give it a chance for Scott Foley and Becki Newton.

  16. It looks interesting, but how could it survive more than a season?

  17. Really looking forward to this, looks like it could be good.

  18.  I was thinking half way through the trailer "this is actually good" and then I saw from the creators of how I met your mother and I was like no surprise there... HIMYM is really good, but I hope this one doesn't go on for 8 years though...

  19. Yes, a new tape would be a good way to prolong the life of the show. None of the leads though has some particular charisma, so if material isn't really really good, this could all go south very fast. I am surprised they didn't get any reliable lead actor

  21. Yeah, love those Fringe movie trailer-quality promos. I'm not sure this show can last, but I'll give it a chance for Foley and Newton.

  22. I was 100% sure, but now I think it could be cute! I really think this cast can make it work....

  23. It seems like a mini series kind of show. I don't know how long this could last.

  24. Looks pretty good. Gonna check it out;)

  25. I love the premise, but at least half the jokes were really flat or overdone and the actor's timing just seemed off to me for most the jokes too.  Plus the guy from Better With You was the most annoying part of the series to me....

Not sure on this one, but I may check it out.
