CW to renew LA Complex? - Producer(s) attending upfronts
16 May 2012
Cancelled Shows
The LA Complex was picked up for 13 additional episodes in Canada but the CW had not officially committed to airing them, however the production company Epitome Pictures will be represented in the CW upfront presentation.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was, it is considered a summer show and its ratings 0.3 and most recently a 0.2 arent that much lower than the likes of Nikita. LAC is a cheap import that fits with the type of programming the CW would like to be moving into nd it allows them to increse the number of original hours of tv.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. The show had the lowest pilot ratings in TV history ever!!! Why cancel studio-produced shows and pickup some trash show. If that's the case, just bring back Melrose Place or TBL: The Beautiful Life. (shrugs)
ReplyDeleteI honestly dont understand why Nikita ratings r so low the show is incredible... I understand LA complex ratings because its something pretty much the same as half the other shows out there (nikita is unique tho)
ReplyDeleteIs this the show with all the sexed-up teens in the promos? Oh wait, that's a lot of CW shows I just described. Hmmm...Well, if this is the one I am thinking about...Yikes! One of the only times when, while seeing a trailer/promo for the show during a commercial break, did I feel like those were a few minutes of my day I really wanted back.
ReplyDeleteWhoa!? Really? Okay.... I guess if they just rely on what they produce up in Canada and air it in the summer as filler that might not be too expensive even with those ratings.
ReplyDeleteHowever I honestly doubt it will be the CW that will be ordering more episodes, like they did this year.
I dont watch Nikita so I cant comment on the quality. But my guess is it's just not everyones cup of tea, just because the people who watch it find it good and interesting doesnt mean others would. The same goes for any show.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing to consider would be that it is a CW show, the netlet carries a stigma which puts people off watching their shows, that being said when Nikita first started (and same for many CW shows really) it received quite good sampling, it just couldnt hold onto those viewers. So there again it doesnt appeal to everyone or very many in the US.
Also factor in that it airs on Friday which would knock its potential a little DVR and other forms of media now days which allow people to find other avenues of watching.
Again all thi applies to pretty much any show on the CW.
because this show was cheap in comparison to those other shows, even low rated its return would be better for the CW than those other shows. The CW still get add money for LAC couple that with how cheap the show is and its no wonder the CW are ok with keeping it around for summer filler. Dont worry no show on the CW was cancelled in favour of LAC. So no one looses.
ReplyDeleteIt might hit 0.1 in demos. You might as well air reruns.
ReplyDeleteReneweing this sow woudl be almost as stpid as cancelling TSC.
ReplyDeleteWell they don't produce the show, they just buy it from Canada (where it did do prety well in it's first season) so maybe it might make them more money than reruns even with those ratings....?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, it sounded like stretch even as I was typing it....
Actually, no. They're all adults in the 20s. And that describes, like, two or three CW shows. Lets stop acting like it's 2007 and all The CW is offer us is teen dramas, kay?
ReplyDeletedefinitely recommend trying it at least :) I havn't met anyone who's regretted it yet! Its like watching a real action movie every week the fight scenes are so well done!
ReplyDeleteCanceling TSCjerk was the best move they could have done. Stop whining and deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the upfront tomorrow so they can finally confirmed the cancelation!!! TSC fans are the most annoying groups of people ever! At first, I was sympathetic towards them but now I just find them insufferable.
Still, why give money to others when you can make money on your own yard. If the basis is the license fee then they're after the quantity and not quality.
