  1. Supernatural on wednesday? O_O

  2. ANTM and Nikita on the same day?

  3. ANTM is a terrible lead in for Nikita :(

  4. We should know before long if this is true.:)
Supernatural deserves a reward for its steady ratings on a Friday.

The only reserve I have is that perhaps it would have been better at 9.PM as it's maybe a little gory for earlier viewers

  5. I like Supernatural being paired with Arrow but I think if Arrow has a chance of sticking around it's best bet was Vampire Diaries. The only thing I'm worried about now is that they'll expect Supernatural to do better than it did on Fridays.

  6. All of these schedules are fairly quizzical.

I like Monday. Gossip Girl with a consistent, veteran show keeps it from dragging down a freshman series, and TCD and 90210 are the best fit. Hell, both based on series' created by Darren Star and have very similar target audiences. I'll watch neither show, but business wise, it makes sense.

Supernatural off Friday doesn't, because it held it's own on a hard night. Even if the rating pops, which I doubt, it's still a show that's way long in the tooth. I get that they might want to use TVD to launch a show that's less likely to draw interest, but they need a hit, not two shows who hit 2 million viewers and 1.0 and then drop to the network standard 0.6.

    If it were me.

Monday: The Carrie Diaries, 90210 (Gossip Girl airing during the Winter and Spring hiatuses).
Tuesday: ANTM, Dixie (First Cut replacing Top Model in January)
Wednesday: Beauty and the Beast, Nikita
    Thursday: TVD, Arrow
    Friday: Cult, Supernatural

That Wednesday is weak sauce, but that Thursday is strong and they might be able to average 0.7+ on Monday. Supernatural might be the best show to launch Cult as well.

  7.  True, that could be a problem.

SPN had found it's niche on a Friday, but if it manages to hold the same rating on the Wednesday and use it as a draw in to Arrow, it should be okay. I hope!

  8. WOW!!! supernatural on a wednesday.. looks like someone high up wants a season 9 :D

    ReplyDelete
  9. america's next top model being moved to the Friday shows they probably don't have much confidence in the new mentor and judge overhaul.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I think it's perfect!
The male shows on Wednesday (Supernatural, Arrow), Vampire and The Beauty paired well, the girls shows (Gossip etc) too and Nikita is great on Friday.

  11. This makes absolutely no sense. The CW cannot compete with the other networks. Common sense should tell them to put Arrow with The Vampire Diaries on Thursday to get both male and female demographics, something the other networks aren't doing as of yet on that day is market for both female and male audiences and their best bet is with these two shows. Move Supernatural along with Nikita to Tuesday as that day is wide open. Carrie Diaries with 90210 on Mondays. Hart of Dixie and First Cut on Friday. And pair ANTM with Beauty and the Beast on Wednesday. Seriously execs, how hard is it to get this right the first time?

  12. Personally, I prefer it this way...

    ReplyDelete
  13. I want SPN paire diwth a better show than Nikita but I also dont want it moved off the Friday 9pm slot. It could survive mant more seasons where it is and it is a 9pm show.

I still dont get why affiliates would want such a low rated show like Nikita at 9pm no matter what day it airs. It doesnt make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  14.  i guess Nikita is the oldest skewing show on the CW and they like older viewers

    ReplyDelete
  15. SPN on Wednesday?  Why not.  It deserves a chacne at a better time slot. other thant hat show the only one I am intersted in is Cult and that's a mid season one anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I guess I can see the logic in that

    ReplyDelete
  17. So Cult would come in Friday at 8pm midseason?

    ReplyDelete
  18. reality does quite well on Friday, ABC have had quite a good second half to the season on Friday with an all non scripted line up. Next season there is going to be more scripted on Friday so ANTM may do well there.

    ReplyDelete
  19. SPN is still a better show to launch any new show alongside over Nikita. While I agree with SPN staying on Friday because it has held its own, it would still creat a stronger night with Arrow or Beauty than either being paired with Nikita. Lets not forget Nikita is the lowest rated show on the net and has less viewers than SPN. Your arguement makes no sense at all, infact you contradict yourself. Also why not have SPN instead of Nikita at 9pm Wednesday to creat a stronger night with a new show?

    ReplyDelete
  20. It doesnt have to better than it is now, it just has to do better than every non new show that isnt TVD which is highly likely.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ANTM has better or similar ratings than Nikita (this spring anyhow), Nikita is a terrible lead in for SPN but it holds its own.

    ReplyDelete
  22. My fear is that it might lose some viewers on the Wednesday just simply from changing nights.
Maybe those who usually watch on a Friday won't tune in on the Wednesday.
I would hate for that to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I still think Arrow on Thursday paired with TVD and Beauty on Wednesday apired with ANTM and Cult midseason makes the most sense. Nikita and SPN stay exactly as is. GG and 90210 time slot share and are paired with TCD and HOD and First Cut make up another night.

    Monday
    8-GG/90210
    9-TCD

    Tuesday
    8-HOD
    9-First Cut

    Wednesday
    8-ANTM/Cult
    9-Beauty and the Beast

    Thursday
    8-TVD
    9-Arrow

    Friday
    8-Nikita
    9-SPN

  24. Yay, something on wednesday again! ... but ... nothing on fridays for me then XDD oh boy *g*
But Supernatural and Arrow on the same night sounds way more reasonable than Supernatural and America's next top model Oo

    ReplyDelete
  25. That's unexpected, but OK, let's go with this one! SPN on Wednesday with Arrow, TVD and B&B on Thursday. Just have a problem with ANTM (!!!) with Nikita. That's really weird pairing...

    ReplyDelete
  26. SPN is the networks second highest rated show, it never made sense to me that they stuck it on friday's instead of using it as a lead-in for one of their new shows. Hart Of Dixie will make for a terrible lead-in, but SPN /Green Arrow and TVD / BatB all seem like good pairings to me. 90210 and GG also make sense to go together, about the one awful pairing there is ATM and Nikita

    ReplyDelete
  27. oh god.. pls dont touch the TVD slot.. i dont care about anything else.. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nikita is gonna die with this schedule. And it was such a good show...

    ReplyDelete
  29. If it airs at 9 pm then it is up against Criminal Minds and Modern Family.

    ReplyDelete
  30. This schedule will make Dawn Ostroff cry

    ReplyDelete
  31. The CW upfronts are today correct? If so, I'll wait til then for the OFFICIAL schedule. I do like the thought of Supernatural being a lead-in for a new show like Arrow which should share a similar audience and give it a fighting chance given Supernatural's popularty, if this turns out to be true then good decission by the CW pairing them!

America's Next Top Model as a lead-in for Nikita however......

    ReplyDelete
  32.  I think it's pretty difficult to make prediction a for SPN  in a potential Wed. night airing.

I would think that those who watch shows like Modern Family and Criminal Minds wouldn't tune in to SPN  in any case.

I would hope that the SPN fan-base  would still watch on the Wednesday but I feel it's a sort of a wild card.
It could be a great sucess or not,  whether it's shown earlier or later.

    ReplyDelete
  33.  I love SPN on Wednesday, tbh. I still remember when it was on Tuesdays with Gilmore Girls! (And I thought the schedule said 9:00.)

    ReplyDelete
  34.  If this is the new schedule I hate it... I have church on Wednesday and wouldn't be home until after and or the middle of Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is theme-wise not a good schedule. But ratings-wise it would be good I think.

    MONDAY
8PM Gossip Girl, replaced by The Carrie Diaries at midseason
    9PM 90210

    TUESDAY
    8PM Hart Of Dixie
    9PM First Cut

    WEDNESDAY
    8PM America's Next Top Model
    9PM Beauty and the Beast

    THURSDAY
    8PM The Vampire Diaries
    9PM Supernatural

    FRIDAY
    8PM Nikita
    9PM Arrow

This is for me the best idea I think. Mondays and Tuesday is a perfect block. These shows complement each other. Also for Thursdays, I would think they would have a strong night since TVD and SPN  has a big legion of fans.

But if my schedule was real, I think that BatB and Arrow will be cancelled soon.

    Well I don't know now..

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good, GG first, can finally know how it ends soon!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Arrow on Friday after low rated Nikita?

SPN on Thursday wasting TVD's lead in on the second highest rated show on the net?

Surely TVD should lead in for Arrow on Thursday and SPN should continue to outproform its Nikita lead in on Friday?

    ReplyDelete
  38. If the show does any worse than it already is it deserves to die.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Plus it makes sense for all 11 episodes of GG to run in one go and then 90210 to run for its entire season uninterupted as soon as GG is finished.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Whatever happens I want SPN to stay where it is, it could go on for several seasons if it stays.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Is 90210 short too, or are they not going to go on any hiatuses??

    ReplyDelete
  42.  90210 has 24 episodes 11 airing with GG 13 with Carrie

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, ok thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  44.  SPN is not any more gory than TVD and it is on at the same time, different day.

    ReplyDelete
  45.  I love it on Wed and at this time, since they are moving Revenge there will only be 1 show for me on Wed other than SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  46.  I did't think TVD was as gory, but I haven't seen it in a while so I'll take your word for it;
that's good to know, so there's no problem with the time.

All we have to hope for now is that it gets good ratings.

I believe the CW upfronts are going to take place today so we will surely get more news on the programming. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh that's wonderful if spn was on wednesday cause then fringe wont be up against another genre show!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. No way their not putting Arrow on after TVD, it's a no brainer. I'm not sure how I feel about SPN being on a Wednesday (I mean obviously I would watch). Wednesday night there is stiff competition. I don't know if Nikita can actually hold Fridays down with ANTM being its lead in. It does make sense for 90210 being paired with GG and Carrie (their reverting back to their bi-coastal campaign). I can almost gaurantee you that Beauty and the Beast isn't going to make it very far, I honestly can't believe they picked up (and there will be plenty of people who feel the same). But back to ANTM for a moment, with brand new judges that no one has ever heard of I think they should just not renew it (I understand it brings in a lot money from sponsors and what not) but networks should catch the drift that beating a dead horse or trying to get blood from a turnip just isn't going to work. But putting SPN on Wednesday and having it as a lead in for Arrow (although I honestly I probably won't watch it with the lack of Justin Hartley and all) would make me happy. The only thing I watch on Wednesdays is Criminal Minds and after this season I am pretty much done with it. I don't know if I am going to watch Nikita especially if Fringe and Grimm remain in their old spots. As much as I like Nikita, I LOVE Grimm and Fringe, sci-fi trumps romance dressed up as a spy thriller every time IMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I loved when SPN was paired with Gilmore Girls.

    ReplyDelete
  50.  I don't find SPN that gory, mostly you see the blood splash on a window or wall, TVD are killing people like flies...I love it. lol

    ReplyDelete
  51. If they don't announce this as the final season of Supernatural from the get go, it won't matter what night SPN is on.  It will get a season 9.  SPN will get the patented CW final season treatment so I'm more worried about if we get season 10.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Plus Gordon Ramsey kitchen shows regularly beat Fringe on Friday.  We may eventually see reality Friday all the way around.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well, I'll wait until the schedule is official, but it works for me.  I don't watch anything on Wednesday so moving Supernatural is fine and I'll give Arrow a shot.  I love Nikita, so maybe moving to 9:00 will help its ratings.  Beauty and the Beast lost me with casting, so it didn't matter where they put it.  If this is what they do, it may well work.

    ReplyDelete
  54. We posted the official schedule 1/2 hr ago :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. but their shows on Weds usually get cancelled... unless it's ANTM but the others.. :((((((

    ReplyDelete
  56. so what will cult be replacing mid-season? anyone know?
