3 May 2012
Cancelled Shows Hart of Dixie Nikita
According to Deadline
of the CW shows not yet renewed Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie are likely to be renewed while Nikita also has a shot. Secret Circle and Ringer are mostly likely going to be cancelled

Rae you kidding! AMAZING news! I'm so happy that TSC is getting canned! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm very happy nikita at least still has a shot, such a great show!
ReplyDeleteThat sucks Ringer and The Secret Circle were awesome and are a hell of a lot better then Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl
ReplyDeleteI would be shocked if CW picked up Gossip Girl, Nikita, AND Hart of Dixie. I have to figure at least one (Nikita or Hart) will get the axe. That being said, if that's what The CW chooses to do then I won't complain about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke. TSC has the second most viewers behind the Vampire Diaries on The CW. Gossip Girl and Hart of Dixie, especially are horrible shows
ReplyDeleteSAVE THE SECRET CIRLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelatest Women demos were something like Vampire Diaries 1.8 Gossip Girl 1.3 Hart 1.1 Secret Circle 0.7
ReplyDeleteI think The Secret Circle SHOULD be canceled. It's one of those shows the network does best (supernatural, teen dramas) and still didn't do all that well. It's not like Nikita or Ringer where it's hit-or-miss. This should have been a hit but it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteSave Nikita!
ReplyDeleteNIKITA!!!! JUST SAVE NIKITA ALREADY!
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl will probally get a final 13 episode season just like One tree hill and be aired while another show Is on hituas.Hart of Dixie will likely stay where It Is and be paried with new show.
ReplyDeleteNikita has shot because the CW IS seriously considering keeping the firday night lineup as It Is.
The Cw will give Arrow the post Vampire Diaires timeslot mark my words.Nikita Is better choice than Secret circle for friday.
Yeah for Nikita.
Hart of Dixie performs better than TSC considering it has a weaker lead-in, airs against The Voice, DWTS and CBS's comedy block. TSC had the best timeslot of the season.
ReplyDeleteHOD: 1.30 million 0.6
TSC: 1.10 million 0.5
i actually watch all of these besides Hart of Dixie
ReplyDeleteBOO, hate HOD and GG has run its course. Ringer can go, but keep Nikita and TSC.
ReplyDeleteNOOOO!!!Don't cancel TSC!!!!:((((
ReplyDeleteok i will be pist if tsc gets cancelled i dont see the problem it does better then both gg and hart of dixie
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Hart is likely to be renew :)
ReplyDeleteI see you're attempting to kill me, Tariq.
ReplyDeleteNikita MUST be renewed!!!!
ReplyDeleteI keep my fingers crossed that GG, TSC, HOD and Ringer will be renewed! They're some of my favorite shows. Hope to see them all back again this fall!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to argue for TSC when you consider it has the best lead-in any show has ever had on this network. A sister show, and the networks strongest at that.
ReplyDeleteProbably more expensive than Hart of Dixie, too.
Boo about Ringer. It was a show that was really hard to get into at first and I think that's the downfall. However, I personally think it had tons of potential to get really interesting. Maybe it was on the wrong network and not the right fit for the teen - centric CW. Sorry to hear it.
ReplyDeleteNikita + Hart of Dixie for renewal please! TSC and Ringer should definitely go.
ReplyDeleteIt's their opinion. They don't actually know anything.
ReplyDeleteYou probably didn't watch ratings for a long time. TSC ratings are awful, I can even say laughable.
ReplyDeleteYou're incorrect. Supernatural has both the second highest amount of viewers as well as the second highest rating on the CW...
ReplyDeleteIf Nikita gets renewed, I can tolerate losing TSC. And I really have grown fond of Hart of Dixie. It's not such an important show to me that I'll be pissed if it's canceled, but it's a fun little show to watch on the side.
ReplyDeleteHowever, if I lose both Nikita and TSC I'm going to go postal. The same thing happened last year when Lie To Me was on the bubble. I felt like if they just kept that one, then I could tolerate the others. But no, they canceled almost all of the shows I watched, including Lie To Me.
i love Ringer and Nikita like Gossip Girl and watch Secret Circle so im a victim too ):
ReplyDeleteNOO RINGER PLEASE!! I NEED TO KNOW SO MUCH MORE!!! DON'T JUST STOP!!!! :'( *lifeover*
ReplyDeleteCOME ON NIKITA!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere still advertising Nikita all over the Deadline web page so I hope that's a good sign for Nikita!!
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie fans are going CRAZY over this :D :D :D YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the HOD fan base is only starting to grow - even in other countries so this is great, great news for such a sexy/fun little show :)
...so happy!
Keep The Secret Circle, Nikita already had a second shot and failed...
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie needs a second season!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf we went by that logic then Fringe wouldn't have made it pasts its second season.
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie should get renewed - it deserves it.
ReplyDeleteI hope TSC & Ringer are getting cancelled.
ReplyDeleteoh no no, god I hate the cw sometimes
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie Thank god! as for TCS i couldnt care less!
ReplyDeletebit harsh on the people that like TSC
ReplyDeleteOkay, those of you who are hating on hat of dixie do you ever watch it, its amazing, and deserves to be renewed
ReplyDeletewow. i thought secret circle was doing good. in any case i'm happy about hart of dixie. they should just cancel gossip girl and make that spot for someone else
ReplyDeleteThere are some shows that really should have only been 13 episodes long and Hart of Dixie, Secret Circle and Ringer should have been that. I don't understand why they get to 10 or 13 and give us a big "reveal" only to have the show lose viewership when they don't deliver for the rest of a season. Giving us 13 episodes would give people a chance to like the show and look forward to a second season and maybe they could have come up with something else more interesting.
ReplyDeleteJust renew NIKITA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell Ringer deserves it, that show went absolutely nowhere.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I'm still thinking The CW is going to renew everything xD
ReplyDeleteSorry but I dont buy it! TSC is higher rated than all of them!
ReplyDeleteNO. TSC is such a good show, in fact, it's one of my favorites. I don't even want to begin to understand how a show like HOD can get more viewers than TSC. TSC has potential, people just aren't really giving it a chance.
ReplyDeleteWorks for me tbh.
ReplyDeleteNooooo! The Secret Circle is awesome!!! :(
ReplyDeletethe secret circle is aimed at kids, HOD is aimed at a wider target audience, and the acting is a lot better, I couldn't even get through one episode of tsc as it is poor
ReplyDeleteThey can't honestly be thinking of renewing Nikita. I'm sure it's a good show, but it's nowhere near syndication, it premiered at 0.6 this season and now regularly scores 0.4. Who knows how low it would go next season ?
ReplyDeleteI agree about the rest though. TSC lost more audience than any other CW show this year except Ringer. And I think HoD deserves another chance.
I really really hope Nikita is renewed!!!
ReplyDeleteHart of Dixie fans make sure you tweet CW_network about wanting another season of #hartofdixie because these Nikita fans are killing it on twitter!! The announcement here is not an official announcement, there's still a lot more support needed to push HOD over the line! :D
ReplyDeleteI actually liked Ringer! TSC is okay. How in the world is 90210 still on the air though, that should be in danger as opposed to Ringer I think.
ReplyDeleteThe best new in the year gonna be the one where CW renews NIKITA!
ReplyDeletePs: Brazil fan here :)
I'm getting a feeling they might be planning on many shows and shorter seasons....
ReplyDeleteWe know they're eyeing Cult for just a 13 episode order from the get go...
I would bet they'll also give GG a FINAL 13 episode season. And I can see them maybe going the same route with Nikita... that clears the schedule a bit....
Actually I like both shows, but on the CW I would argue that Nikita hasn't failed. Friday night is one of the toughest time slots to pull off and it's still pulling in higher numbers than The Secret Circle. That says a lot.
ReplyDeleteWell you have to remember that (A) This is the CW that we're talking about so a 0.4 on a Friday isn't the worst ratings in the history of time on a Friday night and (B) it's a Friday night timeslot, which is one of the most difficult timeslots to get viewers for in the first place. Another show could do a lot worse.
ReplyDeleteI know it's not actually news, but I'm sad that Ringer's probably going six feet under. It really hit its stride in its back half, and I'd have loved to see where the writers took it.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The acting in TSC was horrible.
ReplyDeleteI really like TSC which I still have hope it might be renewed and I like Nikita too. Ringer is okay and I occasionally watched it and it wasn't terrible. Gossip Girl has run it's course. I don't watch Hart of Dixie so not much to say. The only shows I want renewed is TSC, Nikita, and Ringer.
ReplyDeleteFinally they are getting rid of the secret circle. Hopefully there will be a better show instead, hopefully with actors who can actually act.
ReplyDeleteYou also have to remember that while ratings (and the ensuing ad revenue) is very important, money is money, and there are other revenue streams that we don't get data for. The Deadline article cites Nikita's strong international sales. There's also the deal with Netflix - Nikita was very highly watched when Netflix added it, and views per episode gets the CW more money beyond the base price. It's impossible to know exactly how much money they're making, but those other factors, along with the relative weak ratings of so many other shows and the fact that it's on Fridays, are what's making pretty much every site who predicts these things list Nikita as on the bubble, not gone. The CW can only afford to launch so many new shows next season, especially since any or all of them could flop just as much as their current shows. They have to keep some of their current crop, and many of the current crop are doing very poorly in the ratings so something with bad ratings is going to get renewed. I would be willing to bet that other factors that we don't get data for are going to play a big part in the decisions they make.
ReplyDeletei agree keep nikita and secret circle there are very good shows and plus supernatural those 3 shows are te best on the cw
ReplyDeleteAnd to the people complaining at Gossip Girl getting picked up: It's not going to be picked up at anyone's expense. It's likely going to be a 13 episode blast that airs in early midseason, nothing is getting canned because Gossip Girl is getting a send-off.
ReplyDeleteThat surprises me. I would guess Secret Circle would have the edge over Nikita. Not that I would complain since I am a Nikita fan. In the end though, I don't think anyone has a realistic idea of what the CW will end up doing. There are far too many factors and all these shows are circling the drain ratings-wise without any being that much better off than the others. Add to it that we don't know CW's budget after the Netflix infusion or how many pilots it will pick up. The only thing I can say for sure about the CW next year is I'll be watching Supernatural, Arrow will be on air, and LA Complex will not.
ReplyDeleteTypically picking up Nikita for a short season would not make any sense because it wouldn't be enough to really help Netflix wise and the shortened season would not get it to the minimum number of episodes it would need to realistically be considered for syndication. However, this is the CW so who knows what will happen.
ReplyDeleteTSC had good ratings, but it also has the steepest decline in ratings in this last quarter. Before March, I would have said that TSC was a shoe-in for renewal. However, with the 3 weeks' demos at 0.6 and 0.5 it firmly becomes a bubble show.
ReplyDeleteJust curious - where are you getting women demos?
ReplyDeleteI agree that Arrow, as the most promising pilot, will get the post-VD spot. The only other choice would be The Selection but I'm not sure it still has the buzz it had a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteHa! Nothing can be compared to Fringe. Someone has some seriously powerful ammunition against the person making decisions at FOX. It should have died several times but keeps managing to come back. Good for Fringe!
ReplyDeleteI am loving Nikita but number wise it has failed. It might be on Friday but it pulled a 0.4 in demo for the last 3 episodes. There's no good way to spin that. Plus demo wise, TSC (which I don't care for by the way) still beats it and demos are the most important numbers we get to see.
ReplyDeleteNow that would be the most shocking thing the CW could do. Some people say that the CW ordering 6 new shows would be crazy, but this would top it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI gave it 6 episodes and it didn't pull me in. However, I don't think TSC chances are as bleak as Deadline is predicting. If they made decisions prior to last month, I'd say its safe. I'm beginning to think this race is between TSC and Nikita instead of HoD. Either Nikita or TSC is going to be the Friday night lead-in for Supernatural. I don't see them changing SPN's air date at this time and neither TSC or Nikita can anchor a night for a new show.
ReplyDeleteI would be shocked and pleased if Nikita got renewed. The ratings do not at all warrant its renewal and if they pick up a full season next year, they would still need a season 4 in order to get to syndication. That's a crazy gamble for a show that will likely be pulling a 0.3 next year and worse the year after that.
ReplyDeleteDid something get lower than a 0.4 on a Friday except for reruns? I assumed people saying it was the lowest demo on record were right.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with citing the Friday factor for the CW is that Supernatural, also on a Friday, is the second highest rated show on the netlet. I'm not sure the CW actually has a Friday factor.
I'm of two minds about this. The CW does not receive ANY money from these other outlets, with the possible exception of a small fee from Netflix. The WB gets all the non-ad money. However, since the WB is one half of the CW they have a vested interest in it. My biggest problem is that we keep hearing that Nikita does well internationally but no one can ever give us statistics. There have been conflicting reports about its ratings in other countries. I wish someone could give solid comparison ratings internationally because both Gossip Girl and Nikita proponents say that their show has the highest international sales. It's frustrating because it feels like we are comparing apples to oranges while fruit baskets are dropped on our heads. At this point if both Gossip Girl and Nikita are renewed, I'm going to suspect a handshake agreement where both CBS and WB each got to keep one under-performing show to even the score.
ReplyDeleteExcept that 90210 has the fourth highest ratings for the CW while Ringer and Nikita had the worst. I too would rather have Nikita and Ringer but 90210 fans have shown their loyalty where it really counts - the demo ratings.
ReplyDeleteI hope Nikita survives.
ReplyDeleteBummer - Secret Circle has actually improved quite a bit in the second half of the season.
ReplyDeleteNO, TSC :(. I can't lose this show!
ReplyDeleteWay to be mean and condescending when there are people here who love the show. I don't even think you deserve to be laughed at if TSC gets renewed and HoD don't. I pity you.
ReplyDeleteAlso, tariq gamei, I think your posts here are a little sensationalist. The article doesn't say that TSC is likely to be canceled, only Ringer. It mentions some things that could help GG and Hod, and that Ringer is a goner, but not TSC. Could you please be more careful with the way you word the title of your posts? It isn't the first time. Seriously.
ReplyDeletehey chair fans!!! I have an awsome idea:) How about they cancel gossip girl, and blair and chuck get a spin off show!!!!! where we can finally see the proposal, marriage, honeymoon, crazy marriage life!! A girl can only dream:) sigh...
ReplyDeleteThe Secret Circle was brilliant tonight, it would be a huge mistake to cancel it, the show is clearly on a creativity high, unlike shows like Gossip Girl.
ReplyDeleteThem Netflix/Hulu deals had a big impact in terms of The CW's revenues.
ReplyDeleteGG is safe for a final season even if it is for 13 episodes.
Check the link below to see why the more established shows help the network.

REPLY
Bluuuuuuuuuuh, Please SAVE Secret Circle!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree GG wont be renewed at the expense of any other show and I'm going to guess and say it goes the way of OTH woth a mid season 13 episode order.
ReplyDeleteyou beat me to it, this whole 90210 abuse is getting old. There seem to be a lot of people who dont understand how ratings work and how networks work.
ReplyDeleteI almost want them to renew it just so to see how low it can go, it'd be a form of entertainment all on its own.
ReplyDeleteive seen them around on forums tvmediainsight and tvbythenumbers comments
ReplyDeleteahahahaha, let's see what happens XDDD
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! YOU SHOCKED ME. I missed the "likely" and was about to yell at my laptop because I want that short 6th season of GG!
ReplyDeleteCurrently doesn't Fringe have the record for lowest rated show to ever be renewed? If Nikita is renewed, it will decimate the Fringe record and by nigh near impossible to beat. We'd be playing Nikita limbo - "How low can it go?"
ReplyDeletePeople's emotions get high when it comes to ratings I think. Most times people confuse ratings with quality when it is rare that one equals the other. Jersey Shore was a prime example.
ReplyDeleteI would have agreed a few episodes ago. But now they're really starting to make something out of the show. I'd love to see at least one more season to see how they would go further on that path
ReplyDeleteI so don't want them to cancel TSC, but I guess that's what's gonna happen *sigh* too bad. I think it's a great show with much potential. Well well. I hope we won't have to wait too long for an official word on this matter.
ReplyDeleteÓó, nehogy töröljék a tsc-t. :cc
ReplyDeleteNikita will be renewed it would not make any sense to throw out big ad money on a show they will cancel. Nikita is huge international they are having banners on deadline.com/tv and Nikita is plastered all over the backcover of the new THR.
ReplyDeleteNikitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteSAVE TSC
ReplyDeleteOne can like GossipGirl or not but the show has done one thing others never did: Brought money to the network. All the advertising: Designers, Vitamine Water, Cars, etc. Beside that, the show actually was a big deal for NY. They got a GossipGirl day from the Major for heaven's sake. That's good publicity for the network. They'd be stupid if they didn't pick it up for a short last season - despite that the show got really stupid storylines lately, it's not only about viewers for that show.
ReplyDeletePlease DONT cancel RINGER. It has such potential to get even better. I love the show. There r many of us that feel the same. SMG is awesome and deserves at least one more yr to show its real potential
ReplyDeleteNIKITA FTW!
ReplyDeleteThis title is very misleading, there are heaps of other websites that are saying the secret circle is most likely getting renewed so considering this website is not associated with the CW i would not put any stock in it!!!!
ReplyDeleteSince when is gossip girl getting 1.3's????
ReplyDeleteI wish people would stop talking in number of viewers. That really doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the demos. In other words, where the money is made. Look at what happened to Medium!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I find it hard to believe anyone would actually WANT a show to be cancelled and get joy from it. I don't WANT any show to be cancelled, even ones I don't watch or particularly like. Truly mindboggling.
ReplyDeletein women 18-34 not adult 18- 49
ReplyDeleteDEAR LORD! Please don't cancel the secret circle. Please don't.... Hart of Dixie is so freaking boring! How can they do this!?
ReplyDeleteNikita has to stay. That is all.
ReplyDeleteCarina from Zap2It just talked to TSC's showrunner and the OFFICIAL
ReplyDeleteword is that the CW hasn't made a decision on TSC's fate yet:
"Just got off the phone with Andrew Miller. The CW still hasn't decided
on The Secret Circle season 2, so keep your extremities crossed."
