Okay you know fine... they wanted to take the "trasnformation" route because he's pretty. I get that!! I can even understand why they chose to go that way. But they could have AT LEAST made the scar nastier....

this remake is a disaster in the making both characters are hot the original beast was very ugly but these one even the little scar make him wooow i will allow him to eat me
I never knew that Showcase was airing Beauty and the Beast. It's nice to know that I can watch it since I don't have the CW but even with this new promo I'm still not entirely convinced that this is going to be a good show. I probably will watch the pilot and try it since I am a fan a Kristin Kreuk. I have a feeling that it will be the first and last episode I will see of the show though.
I have to say that Showcase is already doing a much better job of handling the video promotion for this show. The CW is doing a horrible job so far. With the love story angle they're playing up and the swelling dramatic music in their promos, The CW is trying to "Twilight-ify" a police procedural. At least that's how they're trying to sell it. Showcase, however, is thankfully taking a more succinct, broadly-appealing approach to their promos. Canada for the win.
A beast has never been so pretty. Probably going to watch the first two episodes before I can properly judge. Pilots are always awkward since the cast don't know each other and some things move around between the pilot and the rest of the season.
I think I would apply that to most Canadian promos for US shows (expect for Castle. Surprisingly ABC does a great job with the promos for that show)... They do know how to make trailers up there.
Sorry, but for it to work the beast has to be a beast, kinda monstrous. Here, he's just a super strong guy who growls and has a scar. It looks too 80s cheesy even for me!
This is my favorite new CW series. I've been looking forward to it since ever since The CW ordered a pilot script. This promo looks way better than The CW version.
Congratz to The CW for attempting their own procedural.
I am looking forward for this take, because it kind of reminds me of Tarzan (WB) a show that had potential and for some reason I enjoyed :P. On the other hand this trailer is way better from the CW's because you see both characters, the action, the "romance" and the procedural part, I'll give it a chance also for Jay Ryan who I think is hilarous (watch Go Girls or his part in Offspring) and I want to see him in a darker rol :D
BWAH!!! My favorite comment for this show yet. I too am unexcited that beast in this show's terms means hot guy with a medium sized scar. In the original no one had to guess which was the beast.
This is my second least anticipated new show on the CW after Carrie Diaries. At first I had hoped for it to at least follow the earlier TV show enough to have a beast. I will forgive the show immediately though (and watch it through my dislike of Kreuk) if it turns out that scarred pretty boy is the beauty and Kreuk ends up being the beast. Now that's a twist that would make this show interesting.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I might check it out once but i don't think so.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I want to see it but it just seems over the top cheesy.
ReplyDeleteso much better promo than the one CW airs :)
ReplyDeleteDon't really like it..

ReplyDeleteactually doesn't look bad at all, the CW trailer was much worse. I'll check it out because i'm a Kristin Kreuk fan, please do not disappoint
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me a lot of Blood Ties.
ReplyDeleteMuch better than the CW version. Well done Showcase!
ReplyDelete"Twilight-ify" hahahahaahahha. I am seriously laughing out loud.
ReplyDeleteYep, the scar should have been waaaay nastier.

ReplyDeleteIf the CW had done this I would have been happy :) It is a much better promo although I still think that the voiceover is so kitchy
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to see this. Don't think they should compare it to Beauty and the Beast because the guy's not always beast looking, but whatever.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that always how it turns out? Canada knows how to sell CW shows better than the CW.
ReplyDeletei actually like it!!
ReplyDeleteWhere's the thrill in Beauty & the Beast if the beast is a nice, good-looking guy?
ReplyDeleteWhich one is beauty? That's the problem with this show.

I'm going to watch it for Kristin... I've missed her on my screen
ReplyDeletedoes the guy like turn into a beast or something? Because if he's just a pretty biy with a scar and a bad temper then I wont even bother.
ReplyDeletegoing to give it a go for Jay Ryan....

ReplyDeletefor me the series had a doom destiny since they decide to create a handsome monster if the series pass his first season will be a miracle
