I know where _I'll_ be on Wednesday nights! Too bad they couldn't do a new poster for Supernatural. I'll forgive them if they _finally_ make some use of the halo around Dean's head....
You know, for a show that wins two People's Choice awards, you would think the promotional department could at least scrounge up some simple photoshop skills for ONE new poster. haha. A person can't even be upset about it anymore. It's just... It's a joke. :)
But I can't say I'm surprise. I mean, we didn't have new posters for S7, and when they finished filming S7 they didn't know for 100% sure if they were coming back or not (it was pretty sure considering the ratings, but not official), so why take photo sessions of a S8 that doesn't exist yet? And the actors are still on a break. It would've been weird to have a new poster.
follow this advice go to the cw page in the feedback area and write your opinion and make a phone call or use the computer to all your supernatural friends to do the same thing
I'm just excited it's moving away from its slot against both Grimm and Fringe - the shows draw in similar audiences, so I think the demographic is split between the three. Wednesdays should be better for them!
Disqus generic email template...O.M.G.. I am 1oo PERCENT AGREE WITH YOU on fridays the competition in that spot was very fierce like a LION OR TIGER FIGHT.
Nothing fancy here but it's no surprise they're starting the promo material early. After The CW saw big declines in viewership across the board this season, I expect the network to be extra aggressive with their marketing right up until the October premieres of all their shows.
Unfortunately they do not. It's funny how that show "The Secret Circle" had like 15 different photoshoots all season and then it gets canned. Yet the ever-surviving SPN is still stuck on season 6 images.
They can't start rolling out that much new material until their shows go back into production and the actors / actresses are available for photo and video shoots.
My first thought is to have a pre-emptive "premiere" week on CBS or something. Premiere CW's new shows in primetime slots early in either August or Sept. to possibly pick up more viewers and then at the end of the episode (or 2 if they do it once or twice in a row to build it up) say "continue watching on The CW, Wed. at 8pm!")
I have had that idea for a while since I remember seeing reruns of "Dexter" on CBS I think around the time of the writers' strike.
I could see The CW having CBS replay the premieres of their shows (a la USA shows on NBC Universal networks) once they've already aired on The CW, but not before. If you do it that way, it's only going to cut into the premiere numbers on The CW and that network's ratings are a problem already.
I remember that and kept thinking how strange of thing that was, that is actually the reason I got into Dexter (the TV show, I had read the books and it was meh at best for me). You might be on to something but it will NEVER happen. Just like real Truman Show style product integration will not happen in our lifetime.
Since most CW programs are nowhere near the kind of show CBS viewers are usually subjected to, the worst case scenario here is that most people watching these CW shows on CBS are CW viewers who aren't going to watch the same episode live twice, which will cut into the CW numbers. On top of that, running CW programs on CBS is likely to hit CBS' ratings pretty hard too.
I remember CBS' Dexter experiment and the numbers were quite bad. Knight Rider beat it in the ratings a few times.
The best effort I can see CBS making in this regard is to have a block of CW encores in their Saturday primetime programming.
The cw is gunna crash and burn.. and I can't wait to watch. Bad network, they have nothing ill watch. They always get rid of the good shows. Maybe this will be the last year for the cw. I hope so.
Bwah! I'd change it to season 5 repeats with the plot being Michael-vessel and Lucifer-vessel. I still don't know why they made a season 6 poster from season 5's themes.
Ratings showed that Supernatural was not affected at all by Fringe or Grimm. The ratings stayed stable whether Grimm or Fringe had a new episode or if they showed repeats. I would say if anything Grimm got shafted because fans of SPN and Fringe were less likely to try a rookie out when it was competing with their show. I'd expect Grimm's ratings to rise slightly next year because genre fans will be able to get caught up on season 1 and after Fringe ends, they can tune in live to Grimm.
I firmly believe that someone in the CW marketing office has been hoarding all the good pictures of Jensen and Jared. They must have a personal shrine going in the supply closet. After the CW team gave us this. It's physically impossible for them not to have at least one good photo from that shoot.
I'm pretty in the dark when it comes to ratings stuff, but I just mean since the shows are so similar in genre, they could share a lot of fans - but like you mentioned, Grimm probably got the short end of the stick in this situation since fans of Supernatural and Fringe are pretty strongly devoted. I just think it could be beneficial for more than one of the shows in the long run now that Supernatural's made its move to Wednesdays - fans of the genre may check out Wednesday's lineup, and fans of Supernatural on the flip side may check out Grimm (or Fringe, though it's a bit late in the game for that).
I'm not sure it's that simple. With a show like Fringe, if you haven't been watching regularly because you have something else going on at that time period, you're not going to jump in midseason just because your show had a repeat. You would be hopelessly lost. And I don't think the larger population is as faithful about keeping up with their shows as people who visit TV websites like this one. That's why shows like Fringe suffer so much.
O.K.. the following post is i distraction find this link...youtu be/1L2n7S-8vRM?a supernatural-barbie girl song music video parody is dean and sam centric i hope anybody get mad with me but is so cool & contagious.

I'm hoping they move Grimm off Fridays since it seems to be doing better than they had expected. I started watching it online and have found myself addicted to it, but it will be a long time before I watch it live in it's Friday spot. SPN may be gone now, but there's still Fringe and Nikita as competition.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteMaybe I will.
ReplyDeleteMy cynicism sort've deters me. lol
The CW is so damn cheap.
ReplyDeleteTheir shows can be considered lucky if they have some actual new pictures and not some PS6 mess, past the fifth season.
Unfortunately they do not. It's funny how that show "The Secret Circle" had like 15 different photoshoots all season and then it gets canned. Yet the ever-surviving SPN is still stuck on season 6 images.

ReplyDeleteI have the feeling that the CW on Wednesday nights is going to be the hottest night on television.
ReplyDeleteI know... I'm just saying they should have planned ahead for an early campaing.
ReplyDeleteBloody bollox! I hate reptiles!!! what on earth was all that about?

ReplyDeletelol I don't think that having an episode of a CW show on CBS could to anything terribly bad when nothing gets over a 1.2...
