Oh, now I get what they're going for. It's part Stephen King, part "The Devil's Advocate." BTW, "from the producers of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars" isn't a strong selling point.
Whoa! I'm definitely giving this a go! Great cast and so far, a very intriguing story....
I'm so glad to see Terry O'Quinn back on my screens, and Vanessa Williams, although she's never really been away since she's moved directly from Ugly Betty to DH to this. Also excited to see Rachael Taylor back, Charlie's Angels was terrible but it wasn't her fault :)
The paranormal aspect lost me flat out. Plus watching upper class society get theirs does not appeal to me much either I guess.
I may check it out just to see O'Quinn channel his inner Charon and demand his coins for providing services to the Blake's residents, but I do not have high hopes at all.
Looks worth a go. O'Quinn sells it for me. Although I wasn't expecting it to be quite so heavy on the Ringer-esque toffery I like Ringer though, and I like paranormal stuff, so consider my interest piqued.
If Terry O'Quinn's in here then does that mean he wont return to Hawaii Five 0? He had a great stint on that and even though it seems like his job is done on the show, there is potential to keep him around.
Peter Lenkov and Elwood Reid seem to think otherwise: “[Terry] is open to it, which we were all very surprised and excited about,” said Lenkov. “We love him, and hopefully he’ll come back.” (from TVLine)
Being open to it isn't the same as it being plausible. There isn't really much opportunity that O'Quinn, who will be filming his show at the same time as H50, will have the time to leave his own show in the middle of any given week to fly all the way to Hawaii and then fly back without affecting production of his new series.
Agree. It's not possible to be on both shows at the same time. Plus they are on different networks, so it's going to be harder to adjust than if it was on the same network.
Well I hope that they can work something out and get him for a couple of episodes. At least the ones dealing with McGarrett/Wo Fat stories and especially with the twist in the end and what he has been doing the whole season to end up there, it's hard to believe that he just leaves and the story continues...
I didn't say it was going to happen, just that Peter, Elwood and Terry seem to have talked about it and that it is not out of the realm of possibilities.
Usj, that Beauty And The Beast-show was bound to be something terribel. Looked really cheap from the pictures i saw of it. I think they passed up Gotham because they was sure about the lead. A series usually depends on the leads.
Trailer made it look much better than what I was expecting it to look like (even though I thought the music was a bit unfitting... they should have tried something a tad more haunting). It kinda feels like a mixture of "the devils advocate" and "Poltergeist"...
after reading about the pilots, this was the one i've been most looking forward to. then it got it's cast, and i was more excited. and after this, i just can't wait any more xD
I am usually easily scared but this did not me scare at all. Not a bit.
Is Terry the devil? Why doesn't he let people go? Why does the building swallow people? I am curious, but not in a "I need to see this" kind of way, but much more in a "let's check wikipedia in a couple of months" kind of way.
Now, Bruce, I know you watch PLL and The Lying Game (besides maybe they want to get a super young demo, although if I had kids they wouldn't be watching PLL or this).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy fuck, this looks amazing. I am so in!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely watching this. OMG this cast!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, I'll definitely be watching.
ReplyDeleteseems like its got a more 'once upon a time' feel then 'American Horror story' , ill give it a try

This. Is. Gonna BE AWESOME!! I hope that the OUAT/Revenge lead-in will make it a hit! Cause it sure looks like one!
ReplyDeleteLost me at the rich people angle, find it hard to find sympathy
ReplyDeleteLots of familiar faces... =) and looks interesting/creepy =P
ReplyDeleteLooks worth a go. O'Quinn sells it for me. Although I wasn't expecting it to be quite so heavy on the Ringer-esque toffery I like Ringer though, and I like paranormal stuff, so consider my interest piqued.
ReplyDeletethis looks cool too but I wont watch it if it's a case of the week kind of show.
ReplyDeleteIf Terry O'Quinn's in here then does that mean he wont return to Hawaii Five 0? He had a great stint on that and even though it seems like his job is done on the show, there is potential to keep him around.
ReplyDeleteI doubt you'll see O'Quinn on H50 while this show is in production.
ReplyDeleteFrom the producers of GG and PLL? Wtf! But I'm still superexited
ReplyDeleteoh. Sad to hear that :( He was absolutely awesome on it! I did not like Five 0 in season 1 but this guy made it likeable for me.
ReplyDeletePeter Lenkov and Elwood Reid seem to think otherwise: “[Terry] is open to it, which we were all very surprised and excited about,” said Lenkov. “We love him, and hopefully he’ll come back.” (from TVLine)
ReplyDeleteGuess we'll see.

ReplyDeletemeh not that great they should have picked up Gotham or Beauty and the Beast
ReplyDeleteI didn't say it was going to happen, just that Peter, Elwood and Terry seem to have talked about it and that it is not out of the realm of possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI'm in for Vanessa Williams and Terry O'Quinn .. the cast as a whole looks really impressive but story ...... idk!
ReplyDeleteUsj, that Beauty And The Beast-show was bound to be something terribel. Looked really cheap from the pictures i saw of it. I think they passed up Gotham because they was sure about the lead. A series usually depends on the leads.
ReplyDeletewell.. that's another show added to my watch list now. Great cast. JOHN LOCKE and vanessa williams are in it.. what more can i want?
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an American Horror Story wannabe. Why go for 'brand X' when the real thing is right there?
ReplyDeleteTrailer made it look much better than what I was expecting it to look like (even though I thought the music was a bit unfitting... they should have tried something a tad more haunting).
ReplyDeleteIt kinda feels like a mixture of "the devils advocate" and "Poltergeist"...
I TOTALLY got The Devil's Advocate vibe. Some bits were like they were ripped straight from the movie!
ReplyDeleteLooks great
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it could be good. I don't think I'll be watching, but still... maybe it won't suck.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be sooooo good!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a YES for me.
ReplyDeleteafter reading about the pilots, this was the one i've been most looking forward to. then it got it's cast, and i was more excited. and after this, i just can't wait any more xD
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic. This one is near the top of shows I'm looking forward to.
ReplyDeleteooooo this looks good
ReplyDeleteOoo, creepy. I like it.
ReplyDeleteits nothing like the books at all
ReplyDeleteThis looks like I found the top of my MOST ANTICIPATED list for next season. This show looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'll definitely be giving this show a chance.
ReplyDeleteThe trailer didn't quite wow me as much as I was hoping, but I still like the premise and will give it a try.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me? It reminds me A LOT of the Devil´s Advocate with Charlize Theron. There are the same shots in there. Nevertheless, interesting.
ReplyDeleteI´m not sure. I love Terry O´Quinn though, so I will watch the pilot and decide after the first episode.
ReplyDeleteO'Quinn sells it for me..........................DITTO DITTO DITTO I LOVE HIM!
ReplyDeleteYep, that was my first impression as well
ReplyDeleteThe hair on the back of my neck is standing up. Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI am usually easily scared but this did not me scare at all. Not a bit.

Meh. I'll give it a a try, though.
ReplyDeleteWoah! What is this place?
ReplyDeleteLooks interesting!
So YES!
Looks promising.
ReplyDeleteNow, Bruce, I know you watch PLL and The Lying Game (besides maybe they want to get a super young demo, although if I had kids they wouldn't be watching PLL or this).
ReplyDeleteYep, why bother with bad 1980's Tron special effects, don't they know the public demands more nowadays.
ReplyDeleteLOCKE IS BACK!
ReplyDeleteYou're only half right. I watch The Lying Game (quite enthusiastically, I might add) but PLL holds no interest for me whatsoever. :)
