Executive producer Julie Plec and cast members Steven R. McQueen, Candice Accola, Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig were on hand to preview the final three episodes -- and just where Mystic Falls will be for season four.
I knew it! I knew this Elena triangle would end with someone bowing out and leaving town. I'm guessing Elena will choose the safe option with Stefan and Damon will haul ass out of Mystic Falls.
For now. Elena is not capable of making a decision. But even, if she will choose, I doubt she'll let other brother leave town. She loves them both and she needs them both. Even if the brothers decide, that the one, that can't be with her, leaves (which is a good compromise, so the jealousy won't come between them), she won't let him. Like she said to Matt a few eps ago. The brothers felt safe. They don't die and leave you so easily.
i just hope that Alaric, having gone through all this shit and still being a pretty great character, doesn't wind-up getting killed as his reward. i do not wish to be left with Meredith.
Maybe that's the plan the brothers will make. But Elena is not willing to give up on Damon, even, if she chooses Stefan. Or otherwise, give up on Stefan, if she chooses Damon.
The safe option? Not so sure. You know Stefan has his problems, if it comes to human blood. He usually loses control. People die.
Not that Damon wouldn't kill. He is sometimes a bit unpredictable, but he is under control. Good job Elena.
I don't agree. If Elena were to do something as selfish as try and force one brother to stick around even though she chose another, the brothers would make good on the agreement and one would leave town. Besides, making the other stick around after Elena had made her choice would risk alienating the person she did choose.
oh yeah, not debating that, seems like something they would do, but i don't think it will happen because well, really wouldn't be much of a show if it did or not long before the one had to come back to town etc...
True. Forcing the other brother to stay, would put everything at jeopardy. Elenas relationship to Damon, to Stefan, to her friends (some of them, like Bonnie still have unfinished business with one of the brothers), the relationship between the brothers.
And it would be selfish, I agree on that too.
Never said, I support that. I just said, I have my doubts that Elena is ready to give the other brother up.
People (humans) die. She lost her parents, Jenna, her birth parents, almost Jeremy, she has fights with Bonnie, she almost lost Caroline, … I mean, vampires die too. It's just not so easy to kill them. Probably the one thing, she likes most. After everything she lost, she depended on the brothers. Got used to the fact, that they are there for her, won't leave her.
They'd play it just like they did with Stefan at the beginning of this season. Just because the person is gone from Mystic Falls wouldn't mean they'd get any less screen time.
Oh, I agree that Elena would be against either one of them leaving town but, in the end, the decision will be up to the brothers and she'll have very little say in the matter. She may not like it but the brothers will honor their arrangement. They may not even tell Elena about their arrangement so she can't interfere.
well, that didn't really last long, the whole being out of the Falls and separated from his bro, i mean they had them interacting from ep 1 of this season.
The brothers probably know, she won't let ether one of them leave. They won't tell Elena about the arrangement. One day, after she makes her decision, the other brother will be gone.
But they'll still keep contact. They just have each other. The only family left. After Damon killed "uncle" Zach.
That's what I'm saying. Stefan was gone from Mystic Falls but he wasn't out of contact or sequestered from everyone. He had meetings with his brother, he talked to Elena on the phone and in person but he wasn't really back for almost the first two months of the season. I'd expect the show to play any other absence the same way.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

actually it just says that the brothers have a conversation about that (what would happen if...) not that either of them are going to leave town.

ReplyDeleteUnless Elena chooses to be alone, I can easily see the brothers following through on this.
