  6. He should get an Emmy for last night.

  7.  Yep. It needs to stay strong. I'm interested in seeing how many more people keep watching or start watching again knowing it's been renewed.

  8. I think it still matters.
We want to show that this renewal was deserved and that we are behind this show 20000%

    ReplyDelete
  9. See, the renewal restored viewer confidence. It did the same thing last year.

  10. It's only me, or someone noticed that seems like the ratins are increasing?

  12. A lot of people will start watching, well after the show ends.People like knowing they can start watching a show and that it will have an ending, instead of watching while its on and it being cancelled..

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yep its getting close to season and series finales.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The only show up is Fringe. Others are down or steady.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ahh Nikita! We need a 0.5 come on! I am so frustrated. How can action movies do so well in box office and this great action show go so unnoticed? WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hell.. The ratings doesn't give me a High Bloodpressure anymore... We Fringies have a 5th Season YAY!!!!

  17. If the numbers don't fall, Supernatural is again the second highest show on the CW this week, tied with 90210 in demo.  If it goes up like usual, SPN is sitting at second all on its own.  I know the CW needs to look at its pilots more heavily this year than last year, but it's a given that VD, Supernatural, and 90210 will be back next year.  Why not just announce these and then wait until upfronts for the rest.

I'm hearing rumors that CW will pick up 6 pilots next year, but that is never going to happen.  They wouldn't be able to promote all those shows, which could cause all to fail.  The CW has to hold on at least 3 more years so I can get a Supernatural season 10.  I am all fro the CW picking up at least 4 new shows.  They need to start rebranding and 4 would be a bold move towards that.

  18. "The CW has to hold on at least 3 more years so I can get a Supernatural season 10."
I'm with you on that one! =)

  19. I've heard the 6 new shows rumbling too and as much as we all agree the CW needs that many new shows if not more I just don't think it can happen. Though I have also heard all existing shows are going to be subject to budget cuts including TVD,

If they cancel Ringer, HOD, TSC, GG and Nikita and all other shows get budget cuts maybe they'll have the money to pick up and promote 6 new shows?

  20. Fringe ratings are now completely redundant so relax and enjoy.

  21. I'm pinning my hopes on the Netflix deal.  Both with maybe getting more people involved in shows like VD and SPN over the summer and in allowing the CW a bit more money as far as promotion goes.  I know that money actually goes more to the producers but since almost every show on the CW is produced by Warner Brothers or CBS, I'm hoping they are giving Mark Pedowitz a reasonable amount of money to do the impossible.  After all, they are expecting him to unsink a ship already half submerged in the middle of the ocean.  Surely he gets a little leeway.  Not 6 new shows leeway in my thinking but I'd think they could premiere more shows than they ever have before.  If he could premiere 4 (wishful thinking at 5) this year and at least 3 next year, he would have a good chance of totally rebranding the CW.  Of course more than half the new pilots would have to be hits for that to happen and we all know the CW's success rate on that.

  22. Go Grimm & SPN

    ReplyDelete
  23. At least we don't have to be concerned about Fringe ratings anymore. THANK GOD.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We have only 3 SPN episodes left . When are they going to announce whether or not Supernatural season 8 is going to be a thing?? The talk sounds like they are considering it but until it is official it does not really matter. Also any one know if Sera Gamble will still be writing for the show or will she be involved else where?

    ReplyDelete
  25.  "The CW has to hold on at least 3 more years so I can get a Supernatural season 10."

    your logic is flawless ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I dont understand why people worry so much about SPN. It`s a sure thing. It`s just that the channels mostly dont announce every renewals before the upfronts, it`s just a few that does it partly.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not a moment too soon. Now the showrunners know which ending to use for the season, and we don't have to worry about next week's ratings drop off.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm not worried about SPN. I still wish all networks would make up their minds before shows wrap up their season finale filming. I hate when a show is canceled and can't wrap the story half-decently.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After beating out shows like Grey's Anatomy, House  & The Good Wife to be People's Favorite Network TV Scripted Drama & People's Favorite sci/Fi beating Fringe.....and then being named to TV Guide Fan Favorites CW would risk losing losing 1.5-2 mil fans by dropping SPN !!!

Plus if they put Jeremy Carver under contract to take over the reins from Sera Gamble.....why would it only be for the little bit of Season 7 left ? We all know we will get at least one more year since Jensen & Jared are under an eighth year contract.  Not so sure THEY will want 10 years. Jensen, the smart aleck that he is, joked that pretty soon instead of Dean telling Sam "hand me my gun!" he'll be saying "hand me my walker!" I'm sure as close as they are, they still BOTH have other ambitions, as well as families they want to spend time with. When they are ready to let go we will have to wave and say a loving "thank you, guys".

    ReplyDelete
  30.  Yes and a show like Fringe is (for some poeple) easier to watch once it's over and you buy the dvd. Like Lost or 24.

    ReplyDelete
  31.  10 just seems like a pretty number doesnt it. <3

    ReplyDelete
  32. What you say is true.
The continuing seaons of Supernatural depend on many factors, the actors, the ratings etc.

However we don't get to hear what really goes on behind the scenes!
To quote a well-used cliché, maybe they're thinking "ten seasons and a movie" for all we know!

Anyway your last line "When they are ready to let go we will have to wave and say a loving "thank you, guys," is so sad but so true, although I hope that moment is as far into the future as possible.

  33. We will see this evening if the ratings for SPN go up. Last week I kept my mental fingers crossed and it worked, so here's hoping! :) :)

Although I too am quite sure SPN will be renewed it's so annoying not to be certain of that fact, but spending cash on jazzing up the Impala and then promoting a new Showrunner would be really stupid if the show was to be cancelled.

By the was thanks for you titbits on the viewing of Fringe. I meant to thank you but I never got round to it, sorry.!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Your mental fingers scored again.  SPN with 0.7 final demos.  Considering that Supernatural ended last season with a 0.8 demo, it is amazing how CW-crash-proof this show really is.  The wide-scale decreases haven't occurred with SPN, which leads me to believe that it has settled to its core numbers.  With so many new people catching up on Netflix, there is hope that SPN will be steady through all of next year too, placing it in good position for a season 10.  Of course, that's supposing that SPN does indeed stay steady in ratings and that the new pilots don't average over 1.0 in demo.  Still I like thinking about SPN season 10.

No worries bout Fringe.  I hope you enjoy the show.  I quite like it.

    ReplyDelete
  35.  I think I'm going to have to patent my crossed fingers then if they continue to work. :)
It's so nice that SPN adjusted up, as Fringe and others took a little tumble.
Even the flagship of the CW, TVD fell a little last week, if I'm not mistaken.

Then the whole CW is suffering suffering from low ratings, so in that optic SPN is holding its own. :)

It's steady ratings testify the interest that its viewers still have in the show in general; and their interest is well-placed for even the lesser episodes are better than a lot of other stuff on tv.

If as you say, more and more people come to know about the show through other media, there's no reason it can't rival Smallville for no. of seasons.

Then the older episodes just hold up so well.
Last night we re-watched "Houses of The Holy" and although I have seen it many times now, it never fails to move me.
I don't know if Kripke already knew exactly where he was going with the future story-line but the ep was just so prophetic, and the ending with Sam hoping for salvation when one knows what is really going to happen to him, is so heart-breaking.

You know I think the more one watches the eps. the better you enjoy them. Rather "supenatural", isn't it?! :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. At the time Houses of the Holy aired, Kripke was still vowing that there would never be angels on Supernatural.  It's only the writers strike that changed that since they didn't have enough time for the brothers to figure out a way to keep Dean out of hell.  I agree that sometimes old episodes get better on rewatch.  I saw Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things recently and while it is still one of my least favorite episodes it wasn't nearly as cringeworthy as I remembered.

    ReplyDelete
  37.  Then Houses of the Holy is even more prophetic, and in the scene where the priest tells the story of Michael there is even a sort of tangible anticipation, which shouldn't have been there, if the angels were never rated to appear!

CSPWDT isn't one of my favourites either but I 'll watch it quite happily, although I'm willing to revaluate even those episodes which didn't instinctively attract me at first, because there is always something positive to re-discover in just about every episode; well all except one or two that I just can't re-evaluate but even more negatively!
