Wow Delena scene was intense! From watching him shirtless to "Never let me go" by Florence, only to be interrupted by Jeremy. I think people are gonna be watching that scene over and over on youtube. Also the Ester twist was good wasn't expecting that. Wish we had found out more about the blood line because we basically learned nothing but maybe now that the creepy vamp is dead Rose can talk to her? Alaric and Stefan bromance wasn't quite the same as Damon and Alaric but still fun to see.
Hooooooo boy, I didn't see the twist with Esther coming at all. It'll be interesting to see how that all plays out. It was nice to see Rose back, too, and I enjoyed the Stefan/Alaric bonding - you don't get to see much with the two of them, and as much as I love Alaric's friendship with Damon, this was nice as well. Though Alaric's "alter ego" is super creepy.
And holy Damon and Elena.. too bad disapproving younger brother interrupted. Poor guy.. he looked so hopeful during their heart-to-heart, too. She's right, though - he does tend to lash out when things hit a bump, so he's not exactly reliable. Still, I love the guy. Hopefully he'll find that better balance. I did love how Rose summed up their relationship to Jeremy, too.
Wow, overall I would say excellent episode. Definitely one that I'll have to watch again.
The one thing that was extremely frustrating was to hear Elena tell Damon that she didn't know if she had feelings for him when he asked her. It's so obvious that I wanted to scream at the television and slap Elena. After being the one to initiate a kiss for once I expected to hear something different than "I don't know." It would have been nice to hear her say something at least like, "Yes, but it's complicated."
Other than that, it was a fantastic episode in my opinion. It was great to see Jeremy again (even though we really didn't get to see much from him tonight). Rose was a fantastic addition, especially the way that she described the difference between Elena's relationships between Damon and Stefan.
The one other thing that I really liked about this episode was that Damon had some really great snark-like "Next time we compel him remind me to make him better at baseball." I found myself laughing throughout different points in the episode.
I really enjoyed the end turn of events with evil Alaric in the cave and Esther possessing Rebekkah. Should make for a great next episode. I'm probably forgetting a bunch of things that I loved about the episode, but this is all I can think of for now (plus I don't want to bore anyone lol).
I'm with you on Elena - she frustrates me so incredibly much. Honestly, I don't think she's much better than Katherine. She can't decide what she wants, she bounces back and forth between the brothers, and she's so selfish. She can't get over herself for two seconds, and I have a feeling it's going to completely ruin any bonds that have formed between Damon and Stefan over the second half of the season.
I love Damon and Elena bed moments. So cute. I mean hot. Damn Jeremy.
Elena was wright. Damon is sabotaging their relationship. Every time, she has feelings for him and they get close, he does something to make her hate him.
Damon is the best or the worst thing for her? Hard to say which one. But he is more fun than Stefan.
Mama witch in Beccas body. Nice trick. Her plan to kill all originals? I support that.
Too bad she doesn't seems to care that killing all originals means killing all vampires. Not that I mind. But they are not all bad. Or not just bad. And the brothers? If Elena loses them too (and Ty and Caroline) after everything she's been thru in the last 2 years, it would destroy her
She doesn't know if she has feelings for Damon? Would be more believable, if they wouldn't be making out. And she started it. She loves him. If she likes it or not. She just doesn't have the guts to admit it.
She (Elena) may not be able to decide and choose between the brothers, but she is nothing like Katerina. Katerina is a selfish bitch. She couldn't choose. So she had them both. She was thinking only of herself and didn't care that she was ruining the relationship between the brothers. Besides: She can say as much as she wants that she loved them both. I don't believe that. She isn't capable of loving anyone but herself.
Elena is different. She loves them both. She is just afraid to admit it. She knows what Katerina did to the brothers and she doesn't want history to repeat. She loves Stefan and tries to be with him and she loves Damon, but she is ignoring it, covering it up, because she doesn’t want to destroy the bond between the brothers. They spend 145 years hating each other and now they're finally family again. She knows that she could have them both, if she'd want to. But that would destroy everything. Especially after she tried so hard to convince them not to kill each other in S1.
I'm one of the few who like Elena. :P I think she's being pretty honest in a way. She does love them both yet she can't vocalize it because of the Pandora's Box it opens. She summed up it pretty well in a roundabout way when she was talking to Damon. He is unpredictable and dangerous to other people. She doesn't want to choose him if it means he will do something reckless and stupid again. (Which he probably will at some point, let's be honest.) Stefan is the safe(r) choice. And there's nothing wrong with that. But she owes it to both of them to make sure her decision is a genuine one. If Elena finds her way back to him, Stefan will know it was earned. That's why he was pushing her to explore her feelings. I also like what Damon said to Elena about letting people see the good. He's basically telling her to take him as he is.
So, in summation, it's complicated.
Anyway, I expect she'll choose herself when the time comes. Get some distance. Let things settle. I mean, that would probably be the wise choice, lol.
Didn't mean for that to be so lengthy. I tend to avoid the shipper end of things, particularly in this fandom, so I guess it just feels nice to form a few public thoughts. thanks for being my sounding board! :D
Wondering what this all means for Rebekah. Is she dead now that Ester is possessing her body? Like, did they switch essences or is Rebekah still in there somewhere? And boy, did Claire Holt look absolutely stunning in the scene where Matt dropped her off. Pretty girl! Not that that's news...
If I got it wright on an interview with Joseph, we'll learn, that the MF vampires bloodline starts with Klaus. Besides: I just know, we don't have the luck that it would be Becca or Elijah (the only originals I consider to spear) who started the bloodline.
I like Elena too. Just sometimes I could strangle her, you know?
She loves them both, and she knows it, she just doesn't have the guts to admit it. She could have them both, like Katerina, but it would destroy the bond between the brothers. A year ago (in MF time) they tried to kill each other. Elena knows and cares about the consequences. That is the reason she is rejecting Damon. But she has to make up her mind. Not making a choice can lead to the same results like having them both.
Pandora's Box – good one. And it's true.
Damon WAS dangerous and unpredictable. Like Rose said, Elena is good for him. She brings out the best in him. With her he is calm and under control. And it's been a while, since he did something stupid, like killing someone.
To be honest: Stefan is not the better, safer choice. He is the perfect guy, as long as he is under control. But don't forget the reaper and his bloodlust. If he loses control, people die. Than he is more dangerous than Damon on his worst day. Damon, unlike Stefan is always under control.
That is the other thing. As you said, Damon wants Elena to take him as he is. He never pretended to be something he is not. He always showed her the real him (dangerous, snappy). Stefan did not. He never showed her his worst side. Remember S1, after she made him drink her blood. He lost control, attacked a girl, almost attacked her, … she was shocked and scared. She didn't know this side of him. To say that he was pretending and lying at the beginning, would maybe be too much, but he capped it from her. Damon didn't. He was honest.
I think, she is just possessed. Like Alaric was possessed by Klaus in S2.If Ester would leave her body, she would be Becca again. Ever watched H2O? Teen series about mermaids. Becca plays in it. And Fay from Secret Circle
If Ester would leave her body, she would be Becca again.
Ever watched H2O? Teen series about mermaids. Becca plays in it. And Fay from Secret Circle
Lol, you don't have to worry about writing anything lengthy Jenni Lou. I like hearing your thoughts-plus I have a tendency to write a lot too :)
I have to agree with you that Elena did do a good job of pointing out that Damon usually does do something reckless or stupid that ends up making Elena hate him. But I think this season in particular we've seen glimpses of psyche that show that he thinks that he believes that he's not worthy of her at times (or that he believes that Stefan is better for her) and that he's really scared of the possibility of her loving him back and then getting hurt (so it's easier to have her hate him than to risk hurting himself).
But tonight I think that we might have seen a real turning point-at least short term-in his behavior. I think he's finally decided that he needs to stop self sabotaging himself and start making better decisions at least where things with Elena are concerned. As he said, he's not going to make it easy for her, but by doing that he's finally also opening himself up to the possibility of rejection and pain (however the flip side is her finally admitting her feelings and choosing him).
I am with you on that. The "I don't know" is becoming far too redundant. EVERYONE on the show has told her that they know she has feelings for him. Caroline, Alaric, Bonnie, Klaus, Stefan, Rebekah, Matt etc. Like, come on, Elena! The cat's out of the bag, okay? :P Admit it and move on.
I can agree that Elena has changed Damon to some extent. He's certainly reigned in many of his impulses. He's more thoughtful to the consequences in most instances. And perhaps Stefan was less than forthcoming to her about his darker side. I suppose he thought he had gained control over it only to find out he hadn't. It's his greatest shame. So I can forgive his slight deceit. I think both brothers are on equal footing, more or less. You can make a list and tally up their crimes, but in the end, there's a lot crimes and it becomes irrelevant just how many, haha.
It was a good episode but am i the only one that wants stefan to have some happiness after this season. It has been rough for him, i like damon too, but i miss happy stefan or at least somewhat happy stefan. i agree with some that there needs to be a decision at least for the time being.
This was another episode where the soundtrack was way too heavy handed for my taste. Really glad to see Tyler and Jeremy back on the canvas. Hopefully they'll stay til the end of the season. I'm looking forward to watching Tyler and Klaus fighting over Caroline. :-) I really liked the scenes between Damon and Elena. I am firmly not in either camp. I loved the way Rose defined the two couples. Basically, Elena's romantic situation has me voting for bigamy to become legal again. :-)
The only thing about the ep that disappointed me is an issue that's disappointed me about much of the season. It's the never losing Klaus show. It is boring me because I've become accustomed to the fact that whatever plan they take against Klaus...Klaus will win. Yawn.
"He thought he had gained control over it?" Thinking isn't knowing. Even, if he believes and hopes he is under control and has won over his dark side, she has a right to know. Loving someone means sharing everything, even his dark past. He can't expect her to love him and trust him, if she doesn't know anything about him. Anything? Let's say everything. To completely except him, she has to know everything. Even his worst crimes and his darkest past. She has a right to know. And he has the duty to tell her. I know Elena. She would have freaked and be scared. But she would have except it. When she found out about him, she was scared too. A few episodes later she was sleeping with him.
Really, not disappointed at all,as a delena fan it was everything i needed, but the whole Stefan/Alaric thing was so boring....,the ending, somehow i was expecting that, tsch tsch Esther...
I loved the episode! Damon was witty and hilarious as always but I wasn't interested I Elena-Damon plot at all, I got a little bored of them. Really want to see Elena Stefan stuff back again. As for Caroline plot - Tyler is finally back! How long since we last saw him, I would say too long. He and Caroline are the cutest couple that scene in the cellars, wow! And Tyler finding out about Klaus - I sense trouble.
So happy to see Lauren Conrad back as Rose. I loved her in season 2, was rooting for her and Damon. It was sad that they killed her but at least we know creators can have her come back when then want to. Only as a ghost but still.
I also liked the hunt for "which original do we come from" answer. I was surprised that this Mary vampire was dead or rather killed.
Other things I liked: - Klaus as villain as always - Matt - Rebekah dynamic - Florence's song in the show is always great to hear
The cliffhanger surprised me this time. I didn't see that coming. As I said in the begining the episode was great but I wasn't the best episode this season. Can't wait for next week's decade dance.
egads....another predictable boring mediocre episode, who would have thought?
The episode was bad bad bad bad bad bad.
Elena continues to be ANNOYING and boring and bland and Bella Swan and every time I think I could not hate her more, I start to hate her more. Every Scene involving Elena GIlbert is just too damn unwatchable.
Also Forwood, the only decent relationship in this show getting a stupid roadblock from that stupid Klaus plotline that does not even make sense was hilariously bad. Why the hell is that even happening? It goes against the careful buildup of FW relationship and against everything they have been shown to be.
Death and dying is cheapened EVEN MORE with the whole afterlife idea. WHY THE HELL DID THEY HAVE TO CONFIRM THAT? IT destroys any semblance of meaning in death.
Also gotta laugh at Esther scene. First of all because the moment she said she is dying, it was obvious that she will do possession stuff. second of all because of how awkwardly BADLY written the whole scene was.
Also, yay, another filler episode WHERE NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENS.
this episode was fantastic the best of all season had everything in the correct measure but the end unbelieveble esther inside her daughters body now timing with alaric the next episode will be so epic worth watching
Honey, having more than one lover isn't a question of legal or illegal (she is not going to marry them both). It's a question of your moral standards. The question is, if the brothers are willing to share her, without starting to fight again. And if she is willing to risk her relationship with both of them and put the bond between the brothers at risk. We know what happened 1864.
Agree on that Klaus thing. They tried to kill him in S2 during the ritual, Elijah screwed it up. They got Papa vamp to kill him, Stefan screwed up. Mama witch tried to kill all of them, they screwed up. Now they got the weapon, and they can't use it.
True, it's getting boring and annoying. All the time and energy they spend in planning and organizing. For nothing. Klaus always get away with it. They just can't win against him.
On the other side: the show needs a villain. Otherwise it would be a boring teen show about first love, love triangles, … Like 90210 or Dawson's Creek. Never watched it.
And of course they could change the mythology and killing an original wouldn't mean the death of his entire line. But then, they would soon need a new villain. And he would have to be even worse than Klaus. Original-Hybrid, impossible to kill? Hard to beat.
Well, I certainly liked the episode. I was curious to see where the road trip would leave Damon and Elena. I can imagine that's she's ntotoo confident in what she actually feels for Damon. Is it a crush? Is it really love, or is it the simple fact that she's projected her feelings for Stefan onto Damon when she got the feeling she'd never get Stefan back? I've still got the feeling that she's projected her feelings onto Damon. Now that could get a girl confused about her true feelings, right?
Personally, right now I think Elena will go for Stefan. Albeit only for the fact that she might need an idea of "stability" in her life. In such a short time she's lost her parents, her biological father, her aunt and her life has been turned upside down in more ways than you can even begin to imagine. And also I just love Stefan and Elena together. True, like Rose said, Damon might give her more challenges in his own way, but then again, does Stefan really has his ripper side under control? I wonder that. I know he told Klaus that, but does he, really? I'm not convinced that what Rose said was entirely true or complete. It seems the whole Ripper Stefan was left out of her equation. Hmmm.. right, stability..... Not too sure anymore. BUT, although Elena and Damon make a cute couple when he's not doing "evil" things, I still root for Elena and Stefan!
And suppose Elena would choose Damon, would we have the whole feud between the two brother all over again, while in the course of the three seasons they've finally started bonding? Cause that's one I'd see coming if she'd choose Damon. On the other hand, maybe Stefan and Damon may realize that after all they're brothers and they shouldn't let a girl come between them. The promo's and photos for the next episode, though, give me hope for the relationship between Stefan and Elena.
As for the whole original part.... Maybe they could do something like putting them in a box deep in the ocean, like it was done with Angel, I think in the Angel's series (not too sure though, it could also have been in BTVS). There would always be the suspension of someone getting the box out of the ocean and releasing him again (think about fishermen, someone who wants Klaus back, etc). On the other hand, this really wouldn't be enough for Esther, now would it. She's really set on killing her children. I thought the move from her into Rebekkah's was great! Didn't see that one coming. Anyone else thinks Klaus is taking after his mother after seeing this move?
It was good to see Tyler back again. I really hope we'll get to see more of his frustrations and experiences in later episodes. And I'm rooting for him to stay. Hmmm... That would mean Klaus would have to stay alive as well, or they'd have to find another way to keep Tyler alive. Are we sure, btw, since Tyler is a hybrid, that he'll be dead if Klaus's gonna be dead? After all, he IS a werewolf from birth (well, gene pool anyway), right? Maybe he wouldn't be killed, just the vampire part of him, once Klaus is killed.
Well, this is it for me for today. Perhaps, after seeing the epi a couple of more times, I'll have some more comments :)
I totally get where you're coming from, and I used to feel the same - I think that I've just become increasingly frustrated with her, especially this season. She just seems like she can never make up her mind. And of course I know that there are a million things to take into consideration, and she was totally right about Damon in this episode, but I think she needs to take a step back and figure out who the heck she is - Elena as Elena, not as defined by which guy she's chasing.
And I'm totally with you on the "shipper" business - it's never something I want to get in the middle of. I've gotten quite skilled at ducking the vegetables and flamethrowers haha
I like Elena and Damon, but that storyline has been dragging for way too long. The kissing scene was weird and almost cheesy. At first I through it was a dream. Oher than Elijah (who seems to get the least screentime now), I've had enough of the originals. Rebaccah+ Matt was just silly. Didn't buy it at all. The writers are trying too hard.
I really wish that the writers would pay more attention to Stefan's storyline. The actor who plays Stefan is far more talented than Ian S, who seems to have only 2 expressions. Julie Plec mentioned that Caroline and Damon are her favorite characters to write for, and this really shows. They tend to have the best character development at the expense of the other characters. I suspect she's also a fan of Klaus. Stefan needs more love!
I agree!! It was also used in Gossip Girl before Christmas (No light, No light) apart from their live performance last year, Nikita last year (Cosmic Love), and the season 2 trailer of Game of Thrones (Seven Devils). And you're right every time, it's a perfect fit!
As beautiful as Joseph Morgan is, I just want him and his Original family to go away, it's like they are beating a dead horse and I just want to scream...I Know I say this practically every week but I just can't muster any type of feelings other than indifference for Elena she's a plot device not a character. This season started out great but has devolved into a hot mess, hopefully it can be salvaged and leave me panting for more during the summer but things aren't looking good (all the shirtless scenes of Ian S. couldn't make me sit threw yet another season of that damn love triangle)
I find such oversimplification of terms very hilarious.
One can't just numerically "experience" every episode and stop watching when number is lower than some number he chose. One can define the point when one would not care about the show anymore and I am certain that I won't return to this show the next season, I have said that many times. The only reason I am sticking till finale is because Brett Mathews wrote he finale and he also happened to write one of THE BEST Firefly episodes ever, "Heart of Gold".
The show is bad. Horribly bad. I have reasoned and argumented that position many times. Main trio is unlikeable and stagnant, Elena is plain character-less. cinematography is non-existent, plot is horrible and inconsistent, writing quality is non-existent and production values are HORRIBLE (watch closely Steffie throwing alaric to the wall and be amazed at how clearly fake the wall is).
All of that could be excused if main cast was compelling, relatable, multi-layered and three-dimensional. Sadly they really really really are not and the supposed protagonist and the person audience should identify with and UNDERSTAND, Elena, is no better than Bella Swan.
The only real thing that kept the show together for me was Caroline's character and personality. And even that has been faltering with the obscenely nonsensical Klaus storyline focused around her.
Once I see how Brett Mathews handles the show, I see no reason to return as barring Caroline there's just nothing exciting left in this show and I doubt that one episode could return the show into quality it had during its first season, considering two years of mediocrity which got even worse this season.
You don´t like the show.. we get it!!! After every episode i read a comment from you that says how much you hate the show .. i know that tastes are different and you´re free to have your own opinion .. i just don´t get one thing.. WHY are you still watching? if you only care for the season finale then only watch the season finale .. i really can´t understand why you are wasting 42 minutes (per episode) of your time to watch a show that you don´t even like? i´m sorry .. i don´t want to insult you ..but do you really have nothing better to do? if i can´t stand a tv show anymore i just stop to watch it.. and btw .. i think for me that will never happen with TVD because i think the show is awesome
Best episode so far!!! The Delena Kiss Scene was pure perfection!!! and i loved roses speech.. she explained it perfectly. The only thing i didn´t like was Elenas "I don´t know" .. but i guess thats okay because its just to early for Delena .. they shouldn´t rush into it .. elena needs to figure out her feelings first .. I also loved the Rebecca-Esther twist at the end ..i didn´t see that coming, i really hope Rebecca is okay .. i never really decided whether i like her or not but her "but i didn´t live at all" broke my heart .. and YAY FORWOOD IS BACK!!! I loved the way caroline was smiling when she saw tyler .. it was so sweet.. she was so happy :))
You're right. The show does need a good villain...the mistake here, IMHO, is that there is no balance to the win/loss columns. The villain always wins. (And there have been moments that felt like the writers twisted themselves into knots to make sure that Klaus won. re: Michael's death.) It's much more interesting if I can't guess the outcome; if the odds are the same for the good guys and the bad guys.
So many people we haven't seen in a while! Tyler - our fav hybrid Rose- Dead but not Walking Dead Jeremy -was is just me or has the boy been working out?! - did you see those guns? Momma Original Esther - sneaky momma sneaky!
WOW that was a SEXY scene! I'd let Damon kiss me that like ANY day! Jeremy has terrible timing!
As for the Choice Elena is (or ISN'T) making......... I am a Boone 'er Damon fan, so my choice for her is clear- realistically it's Damon as well. I don't like Stefan or his alter, both are uncontrollable. Damon, even in his "bad boy" state, has control. Rose is dead-on in her Assessment of both relationships.
N speaking of Alter Ego's ........ Alaric n Stefan make a great pair! Could be a great spin-off!
I AM interested to see where Momma Original is going with this switch play. Very sneaky, and quite cleaver. The Originals are a give n take. Kill 'em n be done or kill SOME n let the rest leave for a long time. Bring them back in a few seasons- like a big show down on the SERIES finale. Just let us keep Elijah. He's the only one I enjoy watching. They are all just a bunch of spoiled children who can't cope with anything. They seem to dish it out very nicely, but just can't take even a sideways glance!
Well, Klaus maybe wins the fights, but he doesn't always win. His family for sample. He wanted to unite them (means he wanted to control them, make them his slaves) but he failed. They turned their back on him again and left him alone. Being alone he fears more than everything else. And I enjoyed his first failure with his hybrids. Poor psychopath. Failed to create his army of slaves. Bu-hu. Or when Stefan stole the coffins. Or the dinner party, when the siblings attacked him (too bad mama interrupted).
But you're wright. The outcome is predictable and that gets boring. Would be good for the show, if Klaus could lose sometimes.
Elijah disappointed me. He promised Elena to protect her family and friends. She was willing to give up her life to protect the town. All she wanted in return form Elijah was safety for her loved ones. And where was he, when Klaus kidnapped Jenna, turned her and killed her? For that I'm still p.o. at him.
But he is not a psychopath like most of the others, that is why I would save him. It was he (if I'm not wrong) who said that their mother maybe turned them into vampires. But she did not turn them into monsters. That they did to themselves.
And Becca? I like her. She may be a bitch, from time to time, but it's not her fault she turned out to be like that. She was the only girl in the family (as far as we know) and she was young when she turned. Besides: She was Klaus puppet, his slave for 1000 years. She never had a life of her own. No friends, no family, … She deserves a fair chance.
We don't know yet, if Tyler really managed to break the sire bound with Klaus. He just said, he feels different (if I remember correctly). Could also be just the result of freedom. He was far away from Klaus for weeks, maybe months. A long time, he spend not being a slave Klaus. Doesn't means, he is free.
What we know for sure is that Klaus is gonna freak when he finds out Tyler tries to get free.
And if Ty really breaks the bond, Klaus is going to kill him. He sure doesn't want his other slaves to get any ideas.
Interesting play by Esther, her teaming up with Evilaric should be quite interesting. Don't care one bit about the triangle stuff, and God I hate that they're trying to force Caroline/Klaus on us.
Also in How I Met Your Mother a few episodes back! What's the sudden love for Florence + The Machine on TV? Anyway, I love her music, so it's always a pleasant surprise )))
- Elena is playing with fire. Just like Stefan used to put up a wall to protect himself (and others) from the ripper, Damon puts up his own wall to protect himself from his feelings. If she tears his wall down and then chooses someone else (or nobody) he's not going to take it well. He may not even stick around Mystic Falls anymore. - Rose was great in this episode. Her inclusion was also the best use of Jeremy's newfound "I see dead people" ability. - Sucks to be you, Tyler. That guy has a right to be angry. There may be nothing going on between Caroline and Klaus but that sketch was a very personal gift and she kept it. Bad move, girlie. - If Jeremy can talk to the dead, they can just find someone that knew "scary Mary" and contact her. Problem solved. - I like the Rebekah / Esther twist but I'll miss seeing the actress playing Esther. - The Stefan / Ric conversations (pre-beatings) were great. Good, insightful dialogue. - Oh, how I wish Jeremy would have said "Elena, why are you sucking face with the guy who killed me?"
I wouldn't call this episode boring but I'm very disappointed in the 3rd season!I agree with you about Forwood! All these people saying "Yay,Klaroline!" ALL THE TIME and I'm like "WTF?" .Sometimes I feel I'm the last Forwood shipper left! When exactly did he fall for Caroline? When he was planning on sacrificing her or when he told Tyler to bite her?I can't believe I'm saying this but he needs to DIE!You're right about how the ghost storyline affects the suspense, heartbreak and consequences from a character's death!
I wonder: if/when Klaus dies, will Tyler die too?I mean he's half werewolf...maybe what happens to a vampire when the Original who sired him dies is not the same to what happens to a person who is half were half vampire!I'm just sick of all these plot holes and how they're changing the mythology all the time when it's convenient for the plot!I hope Tyler survives this season...
It was a good episode but am i the only one that wants stefan to have some happiness after this season. It has been rough for him, i like damon too, but i miss happy stefan or at least somewhat happy stefan. i agree with some that there needs to be a decision at least for the time being.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ReplyDeleteOMG what a scene!!! Perfect Florence song to go with it too !!
ReplyDeleteHooooooo boy, I didn't see the twist with Esther coming at all.

ReplyDeleteI love
ReplyDeleteDamon and Elena bed moments. So cute. I mean hot. Damn Jeremy.
Elena was
wright. Damon is sabotaging their relationship. Every time, she has feelings
for him and they get close, he does something to make her hate him.
Damon is
the best or the worst thing for her? Hard to say which one. But he is more fun
than Stefan.
Mama witch
in Beccas body. Nice trick. Her plan to kill all originals? I support that.
Too bad she
doesn't seems to care that killing all originals means killing all vampires. Not
that I mind. But they are not all bad. Or not just bad. And the brothers? If Elena
loses them too (and Ty and Caroline) after everything she's been thru in the
last 2 years, it would destroy her
Slap Elena?
ReplyDeleteI support that.
She doesn't
know if she has feelings for Damon? Would be more believable, if they wouldn't
be making out. And she started it. She loves him. If she likes it or not. She just
doesn't have the guts to admit it.
She (Elena)
ReplyDeletemay not be able to decide and choose between the brothers, but she is nothing
like Katerina. Katerina is a selfish bitch. She couldn't choose. So she had
them both. She was thinking only of herself and didn't care that she was
ruining the relationship between the brothers. Besides: She can say as much as
she wants that she loved them both. I don't believe that. She isn't capable of loving
anyone but herself.
Elena is different.
She loves them both. She is just afraid to admit it. She knows what Katerina
did to the brothers and she doesn't want history to repeat. She loves Stefan
and tries to be with him and she loves Damon, but she is ignoring it, covering
it up, because she doesn’t want to destroy the bond between the brothers. They spend
145 years hating each other and now they're finally family again. She knows
that she could have them both, if she'd want to. But that would destroy
everything. Especially after she tried so hard to convince them not to kill each
other in S1.
ReplyDeleteSo, in summation, it's complicated.
ReplyDeleteDelena was great.
ReplyDeleteIf I got it
wright on an interview with Joseph, we'll learn, that the MF vampires bloodline
starts with Klaus. Besides: I just know, we don't have the luck that it would
be Becca or Elijah (the only originals I consider to spear) who started the
bloodline.
I like
ReplyDeleteElena too. Just sometimes I could strangle her, you know?
She loves
them both, and she knows it, she just doesn't have the guts to admit it. She could
have them both, like Katerina, but it would destroy the bond between the
brothers. A year ago (in MF time) they tried to kill each other. Elena knows
and cares about the consequences. That is the reason she is rejecting Damon. But
she has to make up her mind. Not making a choice can lead to the same results
like having them both.
Pandora's
Box – good one. And it's true.
Damon WAS
dangerous and unpredictable. Like Rose said, Elena is good for him. She brings
out the best in him. With her he is calm and under control. And it's been a
while, since he did something stupid, like killing someone.
To be
honest: Stefan is not the better, safer choice. He is the perfect guy, as long
as he is under control. But don't forget the reaper and his bloodlust. If he
loses control, people die. Than he is more dangerous than Damon on his worst
day. Damon, unlike Stefan is always under control.
That is the
other thing. As you said, Damon wants Elena to take him as he is. He never pretended
to be something he is not. He always showed her the real him (dangerous,
snappy). Stefan did not. He never showed her his worst side. Remember S1, after
she made him drink her blood. He lost control, attacked a girl, almost attacked
her, … she was shocked and scared. She didn't know this side of him. To say
that he was pretending and lying at the beginning, would maybe be too much, but
he capped it from her. Damon didn't. He was honest.
I think,
ReplyDeleteshe is just possessed. Like Alaric was possessed by Klaus in S2.If Ester
would leave her body, she would be Becca again. Ever watched
H2O? Teen series about mermaids. Becca plays in it. And Fay from Secret Circle
If Ester
would leave her body, she would be Becca again.
Ever watched
H2O? Teen series about mermaids. Becca plays in it. And Fay from Secret Circle
Lol, you don't have to worry about writing anything lengthy Jenni Lou. I
ReplyDeletelike hearing your thoughts-plus I have a tendency to write a lot too :)
ReplyDeleteI can agree that Elena has changed Damon to some extent.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good episode but am i the only one that wants stefan to have some happiness after this season. It has been rough for him, i like damon too, but i miss happy stefan or at least somewhat happy stefan. i agree with some that there needs to be a decision at least for the time being.
ReplyDeleteThis was another episode where the soundtrack was way too heavy handed for my taste. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing about the ep that disappointed me is an issue that's disappointed me about much of the season. It's the never losing Klaus show. It is boring me because I've become accustomed to the fact that whatever plan they take against Klaus...Klaus will win. Yawn.
"He thought he had gained control over
ReplyDeleteit?" Thinking isn't knowing. Even, if he believes and hopes he is under
control and has won over his dark side, she has a right to know. Loving someone
means sharing everything, even his dark past. He can't expect her to love him
and trust him, if she doesn't know anything about him. Anything? Let's say
everything. To completely except him, she has to know everything. Even his
worst crimes and his darkest past. She has a right to know. And he has the duty
to tell her. I know Elena. She would have freaked and be scared. But she would
have except it. When she found out about him, she was scared too. A few
episodes later she was sleeping with him.
Really, not disappointed at all,as a delena fan it was everything i needed, but the whole Stefan/Alaric thing was so boring....,the ending, somehow i was expecting that, tsch tsch Esther...
ReplyDeleteI loved the episode!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Lauren Conrad back
as Rose. I loved her in season 2, was rooting for her and Damon. It was sad that they killed her but at least we know creators can have her come back when then want to. Only as a ghost but still.
I also liked the hunt for "which original do we come from" answer. I was surprised that this Mary vampire was dead or rather killed.
Other things I liked:
- Klaus as villain as always
- Matt - Rebekah dynamic
- Florence's song in the show is always great to hear
The cliffhanger surprised me this time. I didn't see that coming. As I said in the begining the episode was great but I wasn't the best episode this season. Can't wait for next week's decade dance.
egads....another predictable boring mediocre episode, who would have thought?
ReplyDeleteThe episode was bad bad bad bad bad bad.
ReplyDeleteNothing against you, but why do you watch it if you find every episode so bad?
ReplyDeleteNo one is focing you to watch it, if you don't like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Jeremy is back, and that kiss...
ReplyDeleteHoney,
ReplyDeletehaving more than one lover isn't a question of legal or illegal (she is not
going to marry them both). It's a question of your moral standards. The
question is, if the brothers are willing to share her, without starting to fight
again. And if she is willing to risk her relationship with both of them and put
the bond between the brothers at risk. We know what happened 1864.
Agree on
that Klaus thing. They tried to kill him in S2 during the ritual, Elijah
screwed it up. They got Papa vamp to kill him, Stefan screwed up. Mama witch
tried to kill all of them, they screwed up. Now they got the weapon, and they
can't use it.
True, it's
getting boring and annoying. All the time and energy they spend in planning and
organizing. For nothing. Klaus always get away with it. They just can't win
against him.
On the
other side: the show needs a villain. Otherwise it would be a boring teen show about
first love, love triangles, … Like 90210 or Dawson's Creek. Never watched it.
And of
course they could change the mythology and killing an original wouldn't mean
the death of his entire line. But then, they would soon need a new villain. And
he would have to be even worse than Klaus.
ReplyDeletePersonally, right now I think Elena will go for Stefan.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm totally with you on the "shipper" business - it's never something I want to get in the middle of.
ReplyDeleteI really wish that the writers would pay more attention to Stefan's storyline.
ReplyDeleteCW has been using Florence in a lot of their shows (Secret Circle, One Tree Hill, TVD) and it's awesome! The songs always fit so well with the scenes.
ReplyDeleteI am leaning toward possession too.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I haven't. Though I have heard of it.
I agree!! It was also used in Gossip Girl before Christmas (No light, No light) apart from their live performance last year, Nikita last year (Cosmic Love), and the season 2 trailer of Game of Thrones (Seven Devils). And you're right every time, it's a perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteI did watch that show awhile Back and kept wondering why Rebekah looked so familiar, (too lazy to wiki/Google it)
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as Joseph Morgan is, I just want him and his Original family to go away, it's like they are beating a dead horse and I just want to scream...I Know I say this practically every week but I just can't muster any type of feelings other than indifference for Elena she's a plot device not a character. This season started out great but has devolved into a hot mess, hopefully it can be salvaged and leave me panting for more during the summer but things aren't looking good (all the shirtless scenes of Ian S. couldn't make me sit threw yet another season of that damn love triangle)
ReplyDeleteI find such oversimplification of terms very hilarious.
ReplyDeleteOne can't just numerically "experience" every episode and stop watching when number is lower than some number he chose.
ReplyDeleteBest episode so far!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right.
ReplyDeleteSo many people we haven't seen in a while!
ReplyDeleteTyler - our fav hybrid
Rose- Dead but not Walking Dead
Jeremy -was is just me or has the boy been working out?!
No way- Elijah is at least semi descent and responsible! The rest are all spoiled rotten children
ReplyDeleteWell, Klaus
ReplyDeletemaybe wins the fights, but he doesn't always win. His family for sample. He wanted
to unite them (means he wanted to control them, make them his slaves) but he
failed. They turned their back on him again and left him alone. Being alone he fears
more than everything else. And I enjoyed his first failure with his hybrids. Poor
psychopath. Failed to create his army of slaves. Bu-hu. Or when Stefan stole
the coffins. Or the dinner party, when the siblings attacked him (too bad mama interrupted).
But you're
wright. The outcome is predictable and that
gets boring. Would be good for the show, if Klaus could lose sometimes.
Elijah disappointed
ReplyDeleteme. He promised Elena to protect her family and friends. She was willing to
give up her life to protect the town. All she wanted in return form Elijah was
safety for her loved ones. And where was he, when Klaus kidnapped Jenna, turned
her and killed her? For that I'm still p.o. at him.
But he is
not a psychopath like most of the others, that is why I would save him. It was
he (if I'm not wrong) who said that their mother maybe turned them into
vampires. But she did not turn them into monsters. That they did to themselves.
And Becca? I
like her. She may be a bitch, from time to time, but it's not her fault she
turned out to be like that. She was the only girl in the family (as far as we
know) and she was young when she turned. Besides: She was Klaus puppet, his
slave for 1000 years. She never had a life of her own. No friends, no family, …
She deserves a fair chance.
I'm looking forward to Klaus learning about the change in Tyler. That's a scene I am really really looking forward to. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe don't
ReplyDeleteknow yet, if Tyler really managed to break the sire bound with Klaus. He just
said, he feels different (if I remember correctly). Could also be just the
result of freedom. He was far away from Klaus for weeks, maybe months. A long
time, he spend not being a slave Klaus. Doesn't means, he is free.
What we
know for sure is that Klaus is gonna freak when he finds out Tyler tries to get
free.
And if Ty
really breaks the bond, Klaus is going to kill him. He sure doesn't want his
other slaves to get any ideas.
Interesting play by Esther, her teaming up with Evilaric should be quite interesting. Don't care one bit about the triangle stuff, and God I hate that they're trying to force Caroline/Klaus on us.
ReplyDeleteAlso in How I Met Your Mother a few episodes back! What's the sudden love for Florence + The Machine on TV? Anyway, I love her music, so it's always a pleasant surprise )))
ReplyDeleteWow at the Delena scene... Good twist with Ester. Tyler and Caroline scenes get more and more boring and predictable every time.
ReplyDeleteGood episode.
ReplyDelete- Elena is playing with fire.
ReplyDeleteI wonder: if/when Klaus dies, will Tyler die too?I mean he's half werewolf...maybe what happens to a vampire when the Original who sired him dies is not the same to what happens to a person who is half were half vampire!I'm just sick of all these plot holes and how they're changing the mythology all the time when it's convenient for the plot!I hope Tyler survives this season...
ReplyDeleteIt was a good episode but am i the only one that wants stefan to have some happiness after this season. It has been rough for him, i like damon too, but i miss happy stefan or at least somewhat happy stefan. i agree with some that there needs to be a decision at least for the time being.
ReplyDelete
