  1. - Yep, They are totally "Fred-ing" Kenzie...oh gods, I don't know if I can take another one of those kinds of plots...
    - I guess this means we are having a timeskip in between seasons, However last scene does explain the spoilers we got for S3...

  2. it's only a "fae rash" so far.  Which either means yes, they're "Fred-ing" Kenzie or the first episode next season is going to deal with saving Kenzi and setting up just how far Bo may have fallen.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Awesome :) Can't wait till season 3 to see where the cliffhangers lead. It seems like Kenzie will have to be fixed first to help Bo out. We'll see..

    ReplyDelete
  4. she kissed lauren but we dont even get a converstaion between her and dyson, but the rest of the episode was great

  5. I thought it was just OK alot of cheesy scenes, and taking down the Garuda felt anticlimactic they should have delayed some deaths to happen this episode perhaps Ciara, curious to see what is up with Kenzi and Bo's dark side
I wonder who will be the Ash in season 3, im thinking Hale or Val?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Good episode, solid writing but it was more fun than dramatic (I lold a bunch of times). I have high hopes for season 3 though. :)

  7. Enjoyed it, wonder what S3 will be like.

I really enjoyed it but it did feel a little rushed. It was a strong finish to a relatively not so great season...I much preferred the suspense of the S1 finale but I'm waiting to see what happens in S3

  9. "Go ahead and merge naughty bits already. I mean, seriously, am I the only one seeing this?"

I laughed my ass off. That was Vex's response to Hale giving Kenzi a shoulder rub. No, Vex, you are NOT the only one who sees it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, I'm less concerned with them "fred-ing" Kenzi who is a fan favorite (and the only character Emily Andras can write), and more concerned with them "Riley-ing" Dyson.

    ReplyDelete
  11. That and their interactions while she was "dying". Vex's comment made me laugh my ass of as well xD

    ReplyDelete
  12. I didn't realize as I was watching it just how little Bo and Dyson have interacted in the last 9 episodes.

If you go back and look, in the back 9, the most Bo has even talked to Dyson was in School's Out. The rest of the episodes they maybe have one scene actually together. Phone call in Midnight's Lamp, nothing in Table for Fae, two bar scenes with Trick and others that made no sense and a hallway conversation in Girl Who Fae'd with Fire, nothing in Faented Love, nothing in Truth or Consequences (wasn't even in episode), one scene in Lachlan's Gambit where he tells her he's willing to die fighting the Garuda to try and earn his love back and she says nothing, looks skeptical and walks out the door; and one wft scene when he's enthralled last night.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's how awful the writing has been this season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I enjoyed it. 2.21, however, was much better.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's been pretty deplorable. And that's not even taking into account directing and editing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ugh, I really hope they don't go that route....it's completely unfair to Dyson since it was the writers who screwed up....

    ReplyDelete
  17. Don't get me started on the "enthralled scene".....I'm already pissed no one informed Bo that "Oh, hey, Kenzi totally got the drop on the Norn and now Dyson has his love back". Seems like kind of important uniting information to put in considering the Garuda was actively trying to divide the group.  *sigh* okay, rant over.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Vex was probably the best thing about this episode.  It was just relaxing having him making obnoxious commentary.

    ReplyDelete
  19. My guess is Hale since there was nothing in this episode to explain why he and Dyson won't be partners next year....

    ReplyDelete
  20. Frankly I am beginning to think that Dyson is "Buffy" to Bo's "Angelus".

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kenzi did not tell anyone about what went on in the place and Dyson has not told anyone yet. Its his place to tell and if he told Bo before the fight, he too, would be a distraction for her.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, Angelus was only evil for 1/2 a season, and then before they made him weak or silly, they gave him his own show where he got to be more bada**. Neither mercy are fans getting here.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It was the first time EVER that I wanted to fast forward Dyson.

They promised us a revelation from Dyson that gives Bo ammunition. Where????

    ReplyDelete
  24. Having to stop fighting to help Lauren who wasn't even armed(???) is a distraction. Not the romantic entanglements.

But I agree it was Dyson's to tell not Kenzi's. Still after an entire episode spent getting back Dyson's love it made no sense for Kenzi to tell Bo to go be with Lauren. That was out of left field.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Based on how Showcase is promoting. IMO they've decided that it's the doccubus fans' turn (maybe permanently), it means they have to ignore major plot elements and that they've had to gut the team dynamics, but they are happy doing whatever to please the "majority" of the fans. Who are still complaining BTW.

    ReplyDelete
  26. From the way spoilers go, I guess we will be getting a short timeskip in the premier, so explanation is not needed.

But yeah, its most likely Hale.

    ReplyDelete
  27. And now imagine if she knew about Dyson. Being emotionally uninvolved is what allowed her to keep straight head in that battle. Both lauren and Dyson would be equally distracting.

The love getting back was for Dyson, so Dyson could be at his best, could be "whole". Telling Bo? Nice things can wait after battle.

    ReplyDelete
  28. She wasn't distracted because she loved Lauren. She was distracted because Lauren was a liability in the fight. The kiss later had no impact on the battle whatsoever. Not even really sure why Lauren was there.

We were promised a revelation and that was reason enough.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would not say Angel  was "weak and silly" after Angelus stuff. I'd say he was that BEFORE it. After we had a whole new insight into his character and he got to be a bamf a couple of times in that season too.

I'd say Bo is "Angelus" of this show. thus we will most likely have evil Bo next season and both Lauren and Dyson having to work together to save her somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It was a great episode but the ending pissed me off. How could they leave it off like THAT?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I didn't say he was weak or silly. I said "before" they made him that way. Buffy was the hero. Angel, especially good Angel, had to be weaker than Buffy. He could hold his own, but he'd never be at the top. As a bad guy he had to be a worthy opponent, meaning he got to win occasionally, but not as good, not for very long. Which is why once he got cool and the Buffy/Angel relationship hit a denouement, he had nowhere left to go. Luckily he got his own show.

We've seen similar with the Garuda this season, Bo coming into her own and a move to position her as the champion. So they drilled into our heads that Dyson wasn't allowed to be cooler than Bo. Even though Bo'd needed help with most of her fights (she almost got beat by a human gym teacher) or she hid behind Dyson when he was there (wolf episode?). Instead of using Bo's powers, or the fact that she can play both sides, or something to make her stronger, they just made an idiot out of Dyson. Bo still was helpless in the first fight with the Garuda and Ciara died. Bo had no battle plan regardless of how much she kept saying she had one for the second fight. Let's split up and charge the place with swords, which wouldn't even kill the guards. Great idea, sounds almost like the one we tried before, except this time we can't even kill berserkers. Thank goodness she took away their freewill. Regardless of illogical battle planning. If Bo grows up and merges into fae society, there is very little role left for Dyson's character to stay the way it was in season 1.

As far as Bo going darkside, I think it will mainly be during hiatus time, they can't have her be evil for any extended period. One, maybe two, episodes tops of pure dark. And most of that will be spent trying to get her back and/or undercontrol (semi-dark).

  32. pinkphoenix19852 April 2012 at 16:31

yeah that was a let down--maybe there was a scene that got cut?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I honestly felt let down by the entire episode because of how cheesy and easy it was. so many completely out of place romantic moments and ill-timed or poorly delivered lines that came off cheesy.... The battle against the Garuda was supposed to be epic, but after watching the NCAAs this month, I have seen basketballs games with more physical confrontation!  XD

Normally the show does fairly well hiding it's lack of budget and production value..., but to me this episode really showed off the lack of budget and production value on the series. It just felt very cheap and rushed  to me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. agreed, can you imagine what amazing characters they would be if they had good writing and a competent showrunner.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I know. They have had no time together even as friends and now they all might die and no one tells her he has his love back and lauren has been there all season and is an idiot almost getting killed and she gets the kiss. ugh

    ReplyDelete
  36. kenzi at least had a crossbow. she is human and isnt a total wimp. I know they need to keep the love triangle going but i have a hard time understanding what bo sees in lauren. the character is poorly developed a huge cheat and kind of a liar.   this isnt a anti gay thing it is a bad character thing.  I feel like dyson is better written, much better acted character for the most part.  ugh this show, i hung in for the whole season for this.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I thought Bo's character could see ppl's love aura's? I just assumed she knew he would be fixed by looking at that. Plus he told her he would be fixed if he went after the Garuda in the Gambit ep.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i absolutely hate when a showrunner is majorly influenced by the fans. They should be true to the story and characters and let the people deal. Fans usually enjoy a quality story and continuity more than the pandering anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Did Vex not take Bo's blood at first and then after being made to take it get hooked on it? I thought his eyes turned red when Lauren made him take it. He seemed nicer to Bo at the end as well. Does anyone think he retook the blood from Bo and that is why she was still kinda evilish?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nothing makes me lose respect for a series faster!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. She can read libido (sometimes, they write it really sporadically for plot points). Usually they play it as lust, not necessarily love.

Well, he did go after the garuda and failed, and didn't get his love back. So the wolf spirit was 0 for 2.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Word.

    Kenzi rocks.

You can read the Showcase blog, lots of team lauren fans will tell you exactly what they see in her. Mainly it seems to come down to a preference for sexual tension and a heavy dose of forgiveness combined with extratextual rationalizations.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll hang, they really needed to throw team dyson a bone and they only made it worse.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think Vex's reaction to the blood along with Val's was supposed to be like they completed the circle or something. Lauren said something about a weak link, not whole, or something. That's when they "cut off" the garuda's food supply and Bo powered up. I think that's all it was.

I know! I lol'd when he said that

  45. pinkphoenix19852 April 2012 at 17:46

I agree although I did enjoy it nonetheless. But I am really hoping for a 13 episode S3 because the I think that it would be much more better storywise

    ReplyDelete
  46. Good episode overall, but a terrible season-ender imo, I mean seriously why leave it like that other than to irk the tar out of fans??!

For a supposed superbad-ass god-like being (whatever) the Garuda sure has pisspoor security. I mean a couple of guys with midevil weaponry, we're in the 21st century, guns would've made a tad bit more sense here.

*roll my eyes* moment at the 'dead' bad guy rising from his grave to 'gravely' injure Kenzi. And damn that was one hell of a recovery time for someone who lost that much blood, not to mention the shock to the system and all that. I'll chalk it up to adrenaline and her promise to Bo. I'm not sure what to make of the rash, or why she ran off like that.

I guess we'll see more of badass super-succubus-Bo next season, judging from the general evilness oozing from the look on her face at the end of the episode. It almost seemed like she got hooked on the power she tapped into.

Doesn't hold a candle to any of the Buffy season finales (to name a show) with all the poorly placed lines and fight choreography, but for such a low budget series it doesn't do half-bad imo. I'm glad to see a season 3, and I do hope, once again it'll be shorter, and less all over the place. Also despite being firmly on team Lauren, I hope they backpeddle a bit to season 1 when it comes to Dyson, wolf-Dyson at least was great and the bamf we need him to be in the series.

    ReplyDelete
  47.  New to the site and I agree with you. That scene where they kissed bugged me on so many levels. I don't see how it's possible for someone to be in love with Lauren considering she has done nothing since back stab Bo since season 1. Starting with when they first met, all the way up until Nadia wakes up. That scene where she borrowed the car and told her not to call was telling to me. I hate the fact they dumb down Bo to perpetuate this triangle. Any normal person would of left Lauren by now.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have to say that I liked/disliked this episode. I still bugs me that last week they tried to make out that it was Bo's love for lauren that enabled her to go super succubus and suck the chi from everyone else in the room but lauren. I never understood that, cause from where I was sitting this week that was thrown out the window. As she turned and was willing to enslave them all. Also, it bugs me to no end that they play up this great triangle and this epic love for Lauren when she has done nothing to deserve it. Don't even get me started on Dyson. I'm still trying to figure out how you can lose your love and ignore your mate cause your love has been taken. Not even try to make it work with her, but you still are willing to try with some girl you've had your eye on in the past but never acted on. That to me makes no sense. I know not many people liked Ryan, but for me he was ideal for Bo because he cared about HER and many times (even though) he was dark fae, was willing to put her needs ahead of his. I have not seen much of that with Dyson or Lauren this year. I admit what lured me to this show was dyson and bo sl, but It has not been what has kept me watching, as I watch now primarily for Bo, Kenzi, Hale and Trick.

Now onto my actual critique of this episode. I did not like how they made Bo's success her link to the others. That to me made no sense as Bo has taken out other fae without the others around. I also hated how they her into a weak soppy person in the face of the garuda, that was unnecessary. If she's the champion, she should be able to at least give the garuda a run for it's money without or without the others. Overall, I have felt that this season has been disjointed. Things established one week quickly go out the window and then magically reappear few episodes down the line. I think as a writing team they should be united in the story they are trying to bring to the viewers, if not, what's the point.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I thought Bo was much more succubusy and confident last week, but after Trick got taken she was a little adrift. Maybe being somewhat evil will help her understand herself and get her succubus chops back?

    ReplyDelete
  50.  I hope so. I just found it kind of weird this week that she'd get so weak.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh, I don't disagree with you. Dyson totally should be the one to tell her.  What I meant was, he should have done it almost immediately so we could get "Team Badass" back on track.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Again, Bo made that point clear at the beginning of the season.   She and Dyson fight either the world or each other, but they make a strong, nearly unbeatable team no matter what condition their relationship is (with the exception of her mom getting the drop on Dyson and when both of them were pulling their seperate "emo" acts this season)

    ReplyDelete
  53. I assumed the berserker that stabbed Kenzie was only stabbed and not hit hard enough till Val did it. Then I thought Kenzie was okay after loosing blood because of whatever she got from the Norn's cupboard.

The part I don't get is how Kenzie was with Bo, Lauren, Dyson & Vex and then all of a sudden was with Val and Hale when she was dropped by the berserker. So funny :) Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Like Ciara said "He needs to believe he is worthy of love to get it." I know he will like seduce other fae, but then like does nothing to get Bo back. Maybe the Lauren relationship has something to do w/ it?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't know...the binding thing could have been effective if it they made it seem like the sudden lack of food crippled him, but that hardly came across in the episode....my question is, if they were gonna inject something in him, why not use Bo's blood as the toss up injenction and then she could make him take the poison?

That aside, I agree with you on the Bo going darkside. I'm almost tempted to hope that's how it goes, since the Bo/Dyson thing develeped as a way to help her control her powers.  If they can get that dynamic back along with the "neutral party" assistance Bo provides the fae world, hopefully they can at least bring back some of what made the first season so great.  I mean, I'm fine with Bo growing up and finding her place in Fae society eventually, but they need to give Dyson's character (and some of her other Fae pals) a chance to grow as well and change along with her.  The whole "everyone changing together" was seriouly lacking this season....

    ReplyDelete
  56. Given the state of the show and new showrunner, and Bo trying to take charge, is there any chance team badass will come back?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I can rewatch season 1...

    ReplyDelete
  58. yes khr is too good of an actor to be treated this way!

    ReplyDelete
  59. this whole show seems to dumb it itself down.  it has inconsistent writing and sometimes bad direction also imho the actress that plays lauren isnt too good.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I do the same thing.  It wasnt perfect but at least it was consistent with the characters.

    ReplyDelete
  61. same here.  I hope that the new showrunner will pull it altogether.  i will hang in a few more eps to see.

    ReplyDelete
  62.  I don't mind the actress, its the writers I mind. They can't seem to make up their mind when it comes to lauren. I honestly don't know if she's good, if that makes sense. I get a strong vibe from the writers that she sees Bo as a specimen. Everything that comes out of her mouth is centred around Bo's biology and when its not its usually means she wants something.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Maybe......At least that's what I'm hoping for.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I know Lauren was helping her control her succubus in season 1 and wonder why she didn't mention to do that again when Bo found her new ability? I think she was the first person to know about Bo's new ability. That could have added something to their relationship if Lauren helped prepare Bo for the Garuda battle.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Dunno, maybe, but usually they write the synopsis based on what is actually in the episode. Instead we never got a betrayal and we never got a revelation.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I thought it was him remembering what the wolf spirit said and then attacked the Garuda?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Lauren failed to mention to anyone that superBo wanted to enslave the world. Knowing that might have made a difference. That she'd already gone darkside before. Based on spoilers, I think Lauren is supposed to be taking a scientific stance on how to help Bo control her abilities in S3. But agree with cmm1982, Lauren definitely looks at fae powers as outside of the individual that possess them. I'd like to see Bo accept herself as fae and learn about herself in a cultural capacity and not just as a biology problem to fix. I mean she learned more from Aoife than anyone--both the good and the bad parts of her biological nature.

I'd like to see the whole team grow into new roles together. But they keep jumping the show ahead so fast and stalling out. We need character development throughout and gradually, instead of big plots in 2 episodes and 4 episodes of crazy tangents.

    ReplyDelete
  68. pinkphoenix19853 April 2012 at 19:23

You're right but I was talking about the fact that it could have been present in a version of the episode that wasn't released...I really have no idea

    ReplyDelete
  69. Here here.  The Garuda's arrival/battle would have made a great season 3 storyline, with hints towards it sprinkled through this season (like they were doing at the beginning) and done more episodes like the first half of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  70. There is so much about Lost Girl that doesn't make sense. I have to I admit I saw it in Season one and it's only gotten worse this year. Don't get me wrong, I love the show. The characters are awesome and keep me coming back, but it seems that each week they add some new element to the ongoing arc and ignore something that was going on the previous week. It's like the writers  aren't aware of what is being written in the other episodes. This episode I thought was all over the place. The whole side plot with Trick was so heavy on exposition of stuff we'd never really heard about before. Not good. That stuff should have been brought up in an earlier episode instead of being just introduced in the finale. Also the Kenzie arm thing was left until the last minute and now will have to be revealed next season. That's IF the writers remember. Not to mention the terrible scene where Vex pretends to inject Bo's blood and they all stand around like morons going "Huh, I guess he did it." Did anyone buy that they would all be that stupid when Vex was complaining about taking the blood and so much was riding on that? Poor showing Lost Girl writers, really poor.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Also, YES the love triangle that wasn't!!! I don't hate Lauren, but she is just not interesting with Bo. I don't see any chemistry and keeping her constantly without agency makes her seem lame and unlikeable. First she's chained to the Ash, then basically to Nadia, then to the second Ash. She never can do anything but complain about her horrible situation. They need to let her be clever and smart and get herself out of a jam or two. She's too powerless and it's unappealing. Looking sad and making moon-eyes at Bo is boring. And Dyson is not any better. I was really glad when Ryan came along. I thought at least if they got rid of him they would find an interesting way to bring Dyson in as Bo's love interest again, or do something cool with Lauren, but no. The writers really need some help with outlining their season arc.

    ReplyDelete
  72. There were some disconnects. I haven't been able to reconcile the blood power thing with season 1. In season 1, Aoife starts by saying she was trying to make Dyson her thrall--I can accept that that was a lie. But when Bo asks about the thralls, Aoife says that siphoning chi is an art form and when you master it you can get people to do almost anything. Again, I could accept that she was keeping something from Bo and used that to pass it off. Except, when Bo asks why she didn't use her power to escape the dark king, she says it was because he had the chi blocker thing, so she couldn't influence him. And there was nothing cagey about it. But then they went and made it a blood power thing that had nothing to do with succubus sucking chi, so that rationale doesn't make sense. And the entire exposition with Aoife in S1 has been negated.

Also, as far as the Trick exposition goes, I'm not sure why all the fae politics of the war had to be developed then, when they haven't told us anything all season and we were definitely short on time. But also, he told the barometz lady that his wife died when her throat was slit in battle. Which is really quite different than an assassin killed her on a diplomatic/peace talks mission. The whole season hasn't been nearly as tight as 1.

    ReplyDelete
  73. thanks. did not know that about S3 and Lauren. We'll see next fall? Can't wait :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. That and their interactions while she was "dying". Vex's comment made me laugh my ass of as well xD
