The dark and light fae couple getting back together was a hopeful sign Bo could save her relationship. Oh, well =( I guess if Dyson had not saved Bo w/ his love sacrifice she would be w/ the dark fae? I wonder what happened to Aife? Amazon notified me my S1 DVD was shipped and maybe they might have an extra detail about Aife w/ the disc?
I must say, the casting director for this show knows how to find actors with VOICES. :-) The Blackthorn; I could listen to him read the phone book. The actor that played the Ash in the pilot...had a voice that could melt butta. :-)
I liked the stuff swirling around this episode....all the political stuff, the move in the Bo/Dyson relationship. But, while I was glad Sabine and her guy ended up together, the bit about getting them together seemed a little flat to me.
Leave it to Kensei to put the issue with Dyson into words. I do really like their friendship. Occasionally, she's a bit much but I love the way she always has Bo's back and Bo has hers.
I feel like they made mistake with 22-episode order, because of it season 2 plot feels stretched. They should stick with 13 episodes like with season 1 and 3.
Odd way to pick a leader, just cos you're good at a hunt doesn't mean you're not dumb as a post. I also have the ongoing impression that The New Ash wasn't particularly known or supported by the Light Fae big cheeses. I do think Hale is a bit like Henry V, mixing with the low-lifes and humans, learning the way of the world. I love Hale!!!
Bo/Dyson, meh! I've thought from the later part of Season One these two bring each other down. Not fun to see whiney Bo, the only thing she can think to add to her appeal is her cleavage and her powers, I think that says a lot about their relationship. I don't blame the writers for showing the pain of this split up, I don't like series that have people break up and then everything has moved on next episode.
The stag and her bf did not engross me, I thought some of the early stuff with the Blackthorn was much better. Glimmers of gold, lots of dross. Episode One was better.
Sorry, I didn't realize you weren't referring to the episode in question.
After actually seeing the entire thing, I think it was bad writing more than anything else. I mean there was more than enough plot in the last 3 episodes to cover the back 9. I mean the grandfather thing alone really should have had more than a minute of screen time.
IMHO, Bo thinking of cleavage and powers says something about Bo's emotional maturity and her ongoing struggle to separate love and lust, not really any one relationship. Bo was acting alone.
I think Hale is rebelling not learning about the little guys so that he can be a better leader. For one, he isn't a little guy. They say more than once "high ranking light fae police detective" but that may only apply to Dyson (I thought it was more of a position thing though).
Really? I thought it was an interesting retake or retelling of The Wild Hunt myth. Never thought I'd get so interested in myths and cultural legends till I watched LG.
I'd like to see the rhythm of the eps in S3 maybe transition a little more. Like have a dramatic one or two for the dun, dun, dun moments, but then have some comedic relief in the middle (they do it mostly). The end of S2 probably could have switched the feel of 2.20 and 2.21 around and then like had a To Be Continued message at the end of 2.21. Maybe ppl would understand a bit more of the upcoming major character challenges and cliffhangers? I know the To Be Continued message might be annoying, but a good show has got it devices for hooks..
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

worst. episode. ever
ReplyDeleteHa. Just wait.

ReplyDeleteThey only had a 13 episode order when they made this.
ReplyDeleteI happen to agree - and I have watched both seasons. 1.12, 2.14, 2.15 and 2.18 are pretty close, though.
ReplyDeleteYes but the episodes further in the season are streched even more. That is my point.

ReplyDeleteI like the blackthorn. He sort of reminds me of Morpheus and has a nice deep voice.
