Wow, I didn’t see that coming, killing a semi-important character in the second episode of the final season, well then again it’s the final season so anything goes, and at least that’s what the writers are trying to tell us. Man, Fargo got someone good and now he lost her. Oh senator, how devilish women in power can be? Unusual that the DOD would allow such thing to occur after the incident that brought Senator to power in Eureka in the first place. Well, next episode should be fun when Jack gets hooked up to the interface and has to deal with him being with Jo and not Allison.
I'm going to miss Felicia Day. Damn, Fargo just can't catch a break in the romance department. Can't wait to see the real Carter plug in and have to interact with Jo - heh.
I never trusted Senator Wen since the first time she appeared on the show. I had my suspicions about her involvement in the disappearance of the Astraeus.
Thought a great scene, was when Carter was stealing the "thing-a-ma-jig", with Andy keeping watch. Andy told the guards the truth, and the guards laughed it off as "Yeah, right... move along now." It's nice to know, that despite Andy being programmed for law enforcement, he knows the difference between doing something Ethically Right/Wrong, and Morally Right/Wrong. It's not Ethically right to steal, but it may be Morally right if the theft leads to something good.
I didn't like it b/c at first had hard time figuring out if it's the real world or the virtual one, but then again I was watching this episode while I was being distracted by someone so, it's my fault I couldn't appreciate the real and virtual swaps throughout the episode.
I cannot believe they killed Holly....or did they? This is Eureka after all. The psychologist didn't like what Senator Wen was doing...perhaps she somehow intervened. At least I hope she did!!
i keep having to remind myself that they didn't know it was the last season until filming the last episode.. then the producers begged for one more episode to wrap up or else it would have ended on the biggest cliffhangers with no resolution for anyone..
real world- how sweet is Kevin doing everything he can to find his mom?!! I'm glad it didn't take Carter long to figure out a) there's a mole b) it's senator wen. Jo being on walkabout with no phone.. trying to find herself was pretty funny. I love Andy so much "if it was my S.A.R.A.H missing up there I'd do anything to find her"
fake world- HAHAHAHAH Allison's barely controlled rage around Jo. and Zane just embracing his anger Is it so awful he wants the dragon to eat JackJo? i don't think so.. Holly NO! dangit I really like Felicia Day. I will have to watch for her to guest on other shows.. and Poor Fargo.. he's going to find discover she is gone, mourn, discover they are in a fake reality and have hope, then get out & discover she's really real gone too. :`(
Kind of thought from Colin's comments earlier in the week that this was what was going to happen. I just couldn't decide if it was going to be her or Zane that bit the dust. Still sorry to see her go.
Oh my gosh - I didn't expect that ending!! Poor Holly - that's made me so sad. I'm glad that Carter figured out that Senator Wen was behind all this - I was worried it would be dragged out. Kevin was great and I loved Zane's dig at fake Carter and Jo. Awesome episode but a heartbreaking ending.
Spoilers can sometimes set you up to be caught off guard. I had convinced myself that it would be an NPC that would die at the end of this ep. I was expecting it to be Jack. When Holly started rambling off her deductions about what was happening I knew she was the character about to die. What I didn't expect was how...odd it was to watch. It felt, for a moment as though it was going to be violent with Jack choking her (which was jarring because...Jack...cold blooded?) and then it was just disconnecting a few diodes. The completely lack of...everything in Holly's death was more jarring than watching Jack be evil.
Frequently, with some of my favorite series, the episodes with such jaw dropping endings were mediocre episodes. I don't think this was. Loved the rendering errors (but, they couldn't order a few more processors to add to the system?:-) . Loved that town begging, borrowing, donating and stealing everything that Kevin and Henry needed to build the machine. Even Andy hopped on the band wagon. Sometimes, you have these events that we're told include more than the series regulars, but that scene reminded me that there were more than 5 people on the Asterus.
Awesome episode for me.
Question:
Given the shocking death at the end of this episode...what the hell could happen at the end of ep three to piss us off? I'm a little worried.
Thanks for posting that. I knew they were in the process of filming this season when they got the word about the cancellation but I didn't know how many eps were in the can.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy crud! What an ending!
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Holly. I was so happy she figured it out and then Senator Wen had to do that. So sad and pissed right now.
ReplyDeleteLoved Allison bitchfacing at Jo in the fake reality. That was hilarious and awesome.
Hee at Jack getting arrested.
I'm going to go be depressed now because of Holly.
Wow, I didn’t see that coming, killing a semi-important character

Next weeks episode will be interesting.

ReplyDeletei dont like the ending was so cruel and inhumane

ReplyDeletei hope you're right... alas i think it's going to be this death that propels Beverly to jump ship & try to save the scientists instead of use them..

p.s. i hope it's Fargo that gets to catch Senator Wen and hopefully punch her in the nose too.

"WOMEN in power"? Men are innocent when they get a little power?
ReplyDeleteLOL That just makes me laugh.
Seriously, though...I can't believe I used to be worried about the General. He was just a bureaucrat. This woman is a hardcore piece of work.
