Oh, Regina, I love you. If this is supposed to be further evidence of Regina's evilness it's really failing after the stuff with Mary Margaret and Sidney which was actual bad stuff.
Honestly this storyline is so dull. I mean Mary Margaret didn't go to jail for murder so you try to sleep with the guy she isn't even dating and has now blown off multiple times? How would it be anything other than a (very) temporary roadblock if they were to eventually get together? He doesn't know anything about Snow and Regina's history, nor does he know that Regina tried to have MM framed for murder, so basically all she is to him is a woman who is nice to him. He should turn her down though because she's Kathryn's "friend" and you really should not bang people your sorta ex-wife knows.I would like to see them develop David/Charming beyond being a cardboard cutout of milquetoast 'niceness' though.
I never liked the idea of this particular plot line but this made me laugh. I agree that the lack of musical score makes it a bit weird (there was one for Stable Boy too that actually worked much better in the ep itself with the score), but this is making me laugh because David is so... adorably clueless. "It was a VERY cold night" lmao.
You go, Regina. I would want to sleep with David, too. But I don't see much of a point to this.
It was a pretty compelling performance, but I want to know if the story she told him is true...part of me thinks it could be, part of the time I think Storybrooke is about attempting second chances...but boy dies she get good scenes!
There's no way it can be true. I mean, she knew exactly what was wrong with him when they came through although I'm still completely unclear about why she would have bothered letting him live at all. Why not just kill him?
I guess the first try will fail, hence her shattering the mirror. Which is less about the fact that it failed and more about the fact that Regina is getting rejected. She wants love and to be loved, in her own twisted way, but she certainly wants that. And that rejection is what makes her angry at herself smashing her reflection.
However I bet something else happens in the episode which ends with second try succeeding as cliffhanger, or something having MM and David deal with the flalout till the reunion in finale.
Yes with Regina your never quite sure what to believe,i also seem to try to read between the lines with her,but in this promo it looked genuine.I fined myself rooting for her half the time, she makes the show interesting..Emma on the other hand, what the hell happened to her? She started out as a strong person, but then just seem to implode before our eyes...
She is not old at all and she is gorgeous. I don't mean to be intrusive, but how old are you?
I only ask that because up to a certain age people tend to think that anyone over 30 is old. I remember when I was 18 thinking 30-year-olds would ruin any party because they were "old".
Anyhow, the scene was forced and weird, but not because she is in any way too old for him.
Had she killed him, MM wouldn't have suffered at all, because MM didn't remember him. Since she wants MM to suffer even more than she suffered, she needed him to come back to life and to stop them from being together.
DAMN,WHERE'S MY JAW?? OH HEY, it's on the floor. Hmmm... Ahjfrgnfffdf, feelings, getting incoherent here! On the one hand, holy smokes! Lana & Josh ♥ ♥ ♥ On the other, would it kill them to show us 10 more seconds?!?!?
Except that she never intended for the curse to stop breaking, thus she never intended for him to wake up. Mary Margaret was just chillaxing for almost 30 years not knowing he even existed. So why she needed to keep him around in perpetuity on the off chance that they would maybe fall in love (considering she found Kathryn immediately with the intention of them never being together kind of speaks against that too).
That's ridiculous. The actors who play: Regina (born in 1977), David (born in 1981), Snow (born in 1978), Emma (born in 1979). As for the characters - we don't know exactly how old Regina/David/Snow are, only that Emma's supposed to be 28, but Regina is by no means OLD for him. Besides, ageist much?
I get the feeling Regina genuinely cares for David. When he woke up she knew they didn't have enough of a connection to make him fall in love with her, so she got him and Kathryn back together so at least MM couldn't have him. But when that fell apart, she not only had to keep him and MM apart, she also genuinely wants a chance with him. I don't think she kept him in a coma on purpose, I think that's just the way things worked out with the curse. As for whether or not her story is true, probably not, but might not be COMPLETE bull.
I don't see a point either. Like they needed something to act as a C plot but couldn't think of something and needed to somehow shoehorn Lana into the episode.
Nothing about it makes any logical sense and we've even had writers explain it with "Regina is ~evil!" Yes, fresh off of squishing someone's heart, attempting to frame someone for a murder and then having someone else take the blame, making a move on a single guy who is actually NOT EVEN DATING the chick you want to get back at is just not really evil.
And if Mary Margaret can get over him making a fool of her by cheating on his wife with her and thinking she was a murderer than sleeping with someone else while he was single isn't THAT big of a roadblock.
Well we don't actually know yet if he sleeps with her, but I agree with you about needing some development. Maybe we'll get it here? I mean we know Regina breaks a mirror shortly after this scene (she's wearing that exact dress in the promo), so he probably turns her down.
I don't agree that she doesn't care. I think she does, but she's so messed up because of how she was raised and the things that happened to her throughout her life that she can't overcome her anger/hatred. I think deep down Regina still has a heart and still just wants to be loved and happy, and I think every now and then that part of her resurfaces and is disgusted by what she sees.
They evened out the ages strangely. In the story, Regina was/is a lot older than Snow, but they never aged her. She should be Mom age or at least much older big sister age compared with Snow. I've always overlooked it, but getting it on with your stepdaughter's husband is kinda creepy.
Isn't this the episode where Regina breaks her mirror because she is so angry about something? I assume David will turn her down and Regina will be in such a rage she smashes her mirror.
I think she is selfish and corrupted by power. I don't know if she can ever be happy because she wouldn't want to ever have an equal relationship with someone.
Josh Dallas = adorable, easy on the eyes. Plus Regina does have a soft spot for him. Plus she's very lonely. And what if she actually likes him? Sure, in her mind it's more about the revenge, but the additional reasons couldn't hurt. ;)
I don't think that's why she killed Graham. Graham and Emma were extremely close to finding her secret chamber of hearts and Graham had regained parts of his Huntsman memories. She killed him because he was simply becoming too much of a threat.
That said, I kind of agree with Jane Espenson (and basically everyone) that this IS really the most evil she could do but I feel this would have worked better as a large plotline. Granted if you incorporate Regina keeping David from Snow by actually sleeping with him / engaging in a relationship with him as a multi-episode (or even whole season) long arc, that MIGHT have a point... but that would have been the biggest soap ever, too.
Also, the last few episodes have set up how this (I think) will work out. David made huge mistakes, MM is feeling rightfully disappointed and angry w/him and he is being shut out (even by Emma, too). I guess he will reject Regina first and if Kirstin's spoilers come true (for once) that Regina sleeps with him, I imagine David going back to her after he had been kicked to the curb. I can see it work that way. But given other spoilers about MM/David reunion/happiness in the finale... this is just... out of the blue and in vain lol.
On a bigger scale, if Regina doesn't just simply kill David because the writers are actually incorporating Regina's (rather complicated) past and her possible views on what real suffering is (most certainly not death), then I see why she's toying with these two the way she has been. If the writers are disregarding all background they seemed to have implied (and sometimes I get an impression like that)... then this is pointless to me. But I'll wait and see and will reserve judgment until after the ep (and the season). They have come up with awesome surprises and twists after all.
Ok, now you got me :) I had compeltely forgotten that he only woke up because the curse started breaking. Oh well, we'll have to wait and see if she had developed feelings for him in FTL and was rejected there too so that it could justify her having feelings for him in Storybrooke as well.
I know right! Why did the writers do this to her? She certainly wasn't gullible when she first arrived in Storybrooke, and from there she went downhill....I don't get it,and i really would like to know why..
I think she considered him a threat because he wasn't her pawn anymore. She hasn't killed Gold or Jefferson and both of them know the truth. He questioned her, she didn't have complete control over him anymore, so she killed him. I think if Sidney ever betrayed her she'd kill him too.
She sees her life as nothing left to live for. She does not care what happens to her how far she goes or how evil she becomes as long as the goal of her revenge is achieved.
Ever since losing Daniel she has been resigned on her life(her look of complete defeat even before snow is revealed). That woman functions on revenge and from moment to moment one can see the frailty behind it.
She knows she is evil. She is disgusted by what she is becoming, but she just does not have anything in her life to care about that.
Storybrooke is the first time she actually starts to want something more. To be loved. To love. Thus THAT Regina, before Evil Queen, slips on into the forefront from time to time.
nope i think its quite clear that she killed graham because he rejected her "love".
that woman would sell her soul(again) for someone to love her....rejection is not something she takes kindly.
Frankly with all death spoilers on OUAT floating around, I would not be surprised if she resorts to murdering David in finale or something with that being season finale cliffhanger.
This is her "happy ending" so I don't understand the hopelessness you are describing. Her revenge has been achieved. For 28 years, she has had it.
We haven't seen her reaching out, certainly not reaching out for love. She could have let Graham in, she could try to love Henry, but she isn't capable of it and she isn't interested in it. Love is a weakness, you have to make yourself vulnerable for it. And neither of those are concepts that Regina is interested in.
I thought this would be a little awkward. But it wasn't. And seriously, Lana/Regina is so gorgeous, if David refuses her, then there is something very, very wrong with his head.
I feel like they wanted to have Gold and Regina beat her and have her be an underdog, but she didn't have to break the law or fall for really stupid things to do that. They already have the game rigged. Then the stupid shit with her being too dumb to go to the scene of the crime before August told her was to make her trust August but she should have known to do that on her OWN. Writers, what are you doing to your hero?
Not really. Regina was supposed to be about 19/20 and Snow 12. So by the time Snow is an adult Regina has been married to Leopold for ten or so years. Even by the start of the curse Snow would only have been about 25 (rumour has it scripts put her around this age) and Regina in her early 30s.
Did they say it or are we guessing? I don't care what they did to her hair, she was no more 19 than Luke Perry was in high school. I maybe would have given her mid-20's and that is generous. But if they said it, I'll accept it.
then ask someone to tell me what happened in the episode that will go on Sunday because I will just see if David did not behave like a fool weak. I almost threw up watching this scene. if they have sex, this tv-show is over for me
I think she loves Henry without condition. But why else would she, her own parents put conditions on love and she had no other chance to form any meaningful attachments to anyone because she was forced into a marrying Leopold.
I invite you to read forums, blogs, tumblr, twitter......There are people very angry. Although not everyone is a snowing shipper, a big percentage of the fandom is. So......if they wanna lose viewers......perfect. Sorry for my english
Evil Queen and Charming flirting. Charming (David) being, again, stupid and annoying. Writers making David in every episode an idiot. Writers not having better plots to keep Snow and Charming apart than this awful David and Mary storyline (and now with Regina....Oh Dios mio¡¡)
Yes. Vocal minority tends to spread out in their rage.
Writers are writing the show and now the fandom and fandom should not be able to control the direction of the show :) Ships are just that - a narrative device. As long as its well exwecuted and well written(and majority of OUAT is) its just another roadblock and another exciting journey.
I have every reason to believe that this plotline will be handled in an awesome and interesting manner, giving us more angst, more things to overcome as well as developing the characters/ that are involved in it.
two grown up attractive adults having implied sex offscreen in a tv show as a means to develop the characters involved and build up interesting obstacles to overcome...
how horrifying! how dare those writers add depth and gray-morality! :<
Sorry i did not mean to get you so upset! Yeah i understand, they even turned Emma into an idiot..I stopped watching for a few episodes maybe it will get better in season two?
Not everyone is angry. And yes Snowing does have large fanbase but it is by no means the largest, Not by a long shot. SwanQueen and Rumbelle are probably the biggest. Yes Snowing fans are upset and they have a right to be. But not everyone is totally against this happening. And people giving up on the show just cos David sleeps with Regina is just silly. There is so much more to the show than Snow/Charming.
Swan Queen is not the biggest group of shippers. They have said themselves that they are in the minority. They are just the most vocal, because of all of the hate they've gotten. And, Swan Queen shippers don't like this storyline either. They have posted No, Regina! You love Emma.
Snowing is definitely the most popular ship. Their shippers are not as vocal cause it's canon, their ship takes up most of the show, and we know they'll end up together. I ship Snowing, but I more vocal about ships that are in more danger or not canon like Rumbelle and Mad Swan.
Also, please remember that a person can and most likely does have more than one ship.
Regarding Regina seducing David, I will be mad at David if he continues fall for this past where the sneak peek stops. Because getting it on with the woman you loves arch enemy/stepmother is not the way to win her back. This is big obstacle to me cause I don't see how MM/Snow could ever get that image out of her head.
Everything in the clip so far, I don't fault David for. He doesn't know Regina framed MM, which is partly MM's fault for shutting him out and leaving him out of the loop. Regina is good at seduction; look at poor Sidney/Genie. He had been around probably hundreds of years tricking people and still fell for Regina. Plus, I'm sure David was lonely and needed someone to eat dinner with. MM and Emma shut him out, I'm sure he lost a lot of mutual friends he had with Kathryn. So I don't blame him for anything platonic, but he should no stop it right there if he wants to ever get MM back.
Whether Regina really liked David/Charming, unless they go back to her trying to seduce him in FTL, I would say no. I think she kept Charming alive because she wanted the satisfaction to know she was keeping them apart. This was the whole point of the curse do she wanted to relish in it. Once she killed him it would be over and just watching MM be alone would not be enough. Everytime she saw MM walk past the comatose David, it gave Regina her happy ending. Of course she never expected him to wake up.
As for who likes this storyline, I think most do not like it. Only people who would like is non-shippers, people who don't care about ships in general. Or, Evil Regals who do not ship Swan Queen.
I would agree that it was a mix of both the threat and his rejection, but to me it was absolutely not clear that rejection was her only motive for killing him. Regina wasn't looking for love with Graham. Neither in the Enchanted Forest nor in Storybrooke. He was toy and that was that. I know LP said Regina had grown fond of him and I might buy that, but I still don't buy that this was her reason for squeezing his heart to dust after he was just footsteps away from discovering a very dangerous secret of hers and after he was the first one to regain his memories.
I have had this thought in my head for a long time and this scene did nothing to quell those suspicions. Can't wait to see how the rest of the scene plays out. Alot of people have been saying it is awkward. I honestly saw none in the scene. Josh and Lana have great chemistry. Oh why can't Sunday just be here.
I agree I really think she likes him and have for a while. I could be totally wrong and it is all an act but she just seems so genuine in these scenes.
Rooting for Charming/Snow is a major tenet of the show. They are the representative couple for good, they are Emma's family. So I would say most viewers who like the show are on their side.
I've never been one of those people who think that the majority of viewers are watching a show that they wish they could fundamentally change.
What's with all the fandom hate? Enough already, I get it that you're appalled, I get it that you hate Regina and don't want her to "taint" Prince Charming. Meanwhile, all this backlash is making me root for Regina/David even more. *EvilLaugh*
When people understand that's a TV SHOW based on fairy tales, not a real life. In real life people has sex with another one, but in my beloved OUaT I don't wanna see Charming having sex with Regina or Mary having sex with August or Belle having sex with Jiminny. Nothing happens, perfecto, fabuloso, but David acts, AGAIN, as fucking boring and idiot person. And I'm tired, there isnt any evolution on him.
I agree with you. We see too much of "vulnerable" Regina for her to have no heart at all. It's still there and every now and again we see that surface.
Regina and David flirting. I wouldn't exactly call their conversation flirting or maybe I am doing it wrong. Plus I am utterly baffled that a storyline like this hasn't happened till now. Regina is trying to take revenge what better way to do that than attempt to sleep with the man she loves.
I look at the spoiler and say, "hey they are trying to scare us by insinuating that David is going to do something bad." But, fans get feisty when people on boards try to make the point that the bad thing should happen and that in fact it would be a good thing in direct opposition to very intent of the spoiler. Some people relish playing devil's advocate. Some people take the potential for shows going down irrevocable bad paths seriously. There have been a lot of great shows that have tanked or reversed a story/love affair/plot that they'd sold to the audience at the beginning. It's easy to doubt in writers&producers. And it is easy to bait a fandom.
and when will people understand that OUAT is a tv show based on SUBVERTING the fairytale logic and injecting sense of realism and gray-morality into fairy tale world?
The whole core of the show, the whole idea of the show is taking those characters and doing something with them that viewer WOULD NOT expect.
I'd say in fact taht its outright naive to expect that the show would end with regina dead and everyone living happily ever after. the writing staff is far too clever and far too cruel and far too creative to allow it
I find it hilarious that that certain part of fandom views it as "tainting".
We are already exploring darker sides of Snow White and the thin line that separates her from becoming someone like Regina. So why not explore the less "charming" sides of charming?
if handled correctly such situation as that can be used as a gold mine of character development for David and kick-start his redemption into a next gear way faster than it would usually go.
Not everyone agrees with your view of the show--or your view of how the show should progress or end. That's why they don't "understand" things the same way you do.
Exactly because a big part of this of this season is charming/snow, such plotline makes even more sense as it allows viewers to experience the pairing going through one of possibly biggest trials of true love one can actually go through and seeeing how the pairing gets back on their feet after it has happened is exciting and fascinating.
I've read what you think makes for a good plotline. And I've tried to explain my view, which I'd like to think you've read. I'm going to leave it at that.
exactly. It just makes more obstacles for them to overcome. Honestly what do people expect, that they are gonna be all lovely dovey straight away. How boring would that be. Honestly I don't see why people are freaking out. It's not like they didn't know this was coming. We had spoiler pics only a few weeks ago hinting at a David/Regina pairing.
Considering the very first pilot episode opened with "filled with fairytale characters we know....or think that we know"
and every episode after that went out of its way to show us that its DIFFERENT from the "canon" versions, i'd say the fact that show is all about subverting fairytales now goes far beyond mere "opinion".
Agreed. The whole point of this show is to show that not everything is black and white. Not everyone is either Evil or Good. There are delicious shades of gray to every character and that is why I find the show so fascinating. And honestly I would be thoroughly disappointed if the show ended with Regina or Rumple getting killed off. I would like to think the writers can come up with something better than that for them.
I agree,i think a lot of people are seeing them as the Evil Queen and Charming, maybe they are having a hard time separating the two. It not like Regina is getting back at MM she is the one that rebuffed David numerous times.whether or not anything transpires between the two we will just have to wait and see. If they do i think by the time September rolls around the viewers who were upset will tune in,they will have three and a half months to get over it... I on the other hand can't wait to see how this plays out!
Subverting is vastly different from playing around with them and tweaking stories. Subversion would require that they completely undermine the moral premise and the value of the fight between good and evil and I've seen nothing in the show from the pilot on through to today that indicates that they are ever going to go that far.
Exactly MM/David are not together so its not like she is trying to have an affair with David or anything. I am actually looking forward to this. Should be interesting.
I think Yop is very frustrated with David's character in general, and i don't think Borednow is helping any..I understand what she is saying, but its more than what Yop is talking about,or more then she wants to hear...
I for one am looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Only thing is I am kinda worried cos if Regina does have feelings for him she is actually just gonna end up getting hurt. I can see him rejecting her already. I imagine David being a nice guy will do it in a kind way but still I hate seeing her sad face.
I agree with every word. :) And it would be a pity if next season Regina is completely stripped of her power, alone and desperate, still obsessing only over revenge. (the way Morgana was in the 4th season of Merlin) I'd much rather see character development in some other direction - for example redemption through finding a new love.
Yeah sometimes it feels like she is forcing her opinion down your throat, never once looking at it differently,or trying to see it through the other persons eyes. One doesn't have to agree, just take a breath, listen to the other person w/o having to yet again say no this is how it is.....
I know EXACTLY what you mean. Lana's so amazing when she's showing a vulnerable side of Regina, all teary-eyed and sad, I just want to give her a hug. And if (or when) David rejects her, it's gonna be double-heartbreak because Henry will also be mean to her earlier that day. No wonder she takes it out on that mirror.
And if it doesn't happen, then we'll get to laugh back at you. People have the right to be appalled if they want to be. Got to respect other opinions.
I get you want it to happen, doesn't mean it's the best path/doesn't mean you're right, doesn't mean your opinion is better than anyone else's.
My opinion plainly- it would be pointless to do this with the spoilers I've seen/heard of the finale taken into account. The on set vid clip is reassuring me that this whole plan will fall out. Also, maybe people think Charming is too perfect, but that's his character, and some people actually prefer him that way. And David's made plenty of mistakes, time to step up, like he started doing last episode saying "sorry". I consider him smart enough to use the brain in his head instead of...you know. :P It's okay if he's a gray character, David already is just by sneaking around meeting Mary instead of breaking up with Kathryn right away. I just want a little bit of strength now from him. Is that too much to ask?
There are other ways of getting depth then two characters all of a sudden jumping into bed together. If you want that, I suggest watching a Soap opera or something like that. You may find yourself more happy. I stopped watching daytime tv a long time ago because I was tired of how often relationships got wrecked because the person just slept with someone else all of the sudden.
I have read plenty of books and seen plenty of shows that were really interesting and did not have one of the lead males jumping in bed with the first person he sees cause the person he's meant to be with rejected him. And they were still very interesting and the guy still was in the "gray" area.
I am getting the vibe that she likes him already. Look at her face in the last twenty seconds. That doesn't look like an act to me. I may be proven wrong but she looks genuine in that moment before she tries to kiss him. I think there may be a kiss but David will pull away realising what he is doing. So yeah she is gonna get hurt. I just know it, Can't wait to see it though. We know Lana is a master at showing these types of feelings so should be interesting.
That's childish. This makes it hard to respect you 2.
If it doesn't happen would you like people to spit something back in your faces?
People really invest themselves in the characters, otherwise, what's the point of watching? Nothing wrong with wanting to see a fav character at their best because they're cared about.
Exactly. At the core this is still a show about good vs. evil last time I checked. And evil characters not being so evil, which I love. I really like the human side of Rumple, for one. As for the good, the show has done a decent job "graying" the characters in the past without going too far and I'd like it to stay that way.
That's what I'm thinking. And I got the vibe that she liked him even in scenes from previous episodes. And I also believe she sounds sincere when she says "I remember thinking just to forget about it and I didn't really need it, but something inside me told me to turn around and go back". It's possible that when the Dark Curse was enacted Charming did end up somewhere outside in the storm, wounded and helpless, and Regina took him to the hospital. It would be a nice parallel with saving Snow and regretting it afterwards.
Plus, Mary and David had both had sex with other people already. (Doctor Whale and Kathryn.) David/Regina wouldn't be a nail in the coffin. This isn't a big deal.
I don't get the overreaction, tbh, and I absolutely love Snow/Charming.
Well what I mean by true is, where does the the Storybrooke memory start...it could be that other events had already been in play prior to even finding Charming/David...So far we haven't seen any episodes which convey a "sense" of arrival...we don't know how the "time" aspect works!
She may have bothered depending on Fairy Tale Land...If she did something similar to get back at Snow there, then she may be forced by repeated that "fate" here as part of the curse...I don't think Regina has absolute control over the situation, in fact the last episode gives us wind that Rumple really is the one behind creating the curse...but even he may have gone about it from others gathered information....
I thought she was supposed to be older than 20. Her mother said that she's becoming an old maid and that all the other girls her age are already married. But I don't think her actual age was mentioned in the episode, so we can all just guess.
If after seeing this scene Regina / David I got sick and almost vomit. I decided that I will not see this episode. Unless someone tell me that David pushed Regina away. UGH UGH UGH If this happens decidedly Once Upon a Time will lose a fan. I hate Soap Operas.
I do think they are taking it a tad too far, but on the other hand, denial is easier than acceptance...and since she may be parallelled to Alice in Wonderland, then she has a long long road full of both helpful and hurtful people ahead of her...
It's also possible that Storybrooke may not just reflect the past...it might also some how reflect the future...they may be things about Emma we don't understand yet, and we need to give the writers the time to let that unwind.
But Storybrooke itself has a touch of mundane and repetition, but I think it's suppose to invoke that, especially since by contrast fairy tale land is so epic and now they are all limited and broken...
We have seen " the less "charming" sides of Charming" as you put it all season long in David. There really isn't any need to see more of them, IMO. Quite the opposite, actually.
Applause¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Belle is hot too, so......do you think Charming should sleep with Belle too? Some opinions are disturbing. As she is hot, sleep with her although you love another woman........perfect...............................
If Regina and David happens, I want Bella with August, Rumpel with Ruby, Mary with Jiminny.....If everything can be because "they are cursed"......SEX with everyone¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¬¬. OUAT before: amazing and great fairy tale. OUAT now: boring and awful soap opera.
Well I think Regina's true intentions are hard to see through...remember what she died to Graham...I don't agree that she is lonely too, but she's one of those characters that she has this nice moment and then she suddenly realizes how vulnerable she is, and turns around after doing something incredibly nice, to something absolutely sinister.
I think Regina has a lot of baggage, and I def feel for her, but I know she's not going to just cave in to goodness, because she still cares more about having control and revenge, than being happy and learning to forgive...
Why what did I say that was so wrong. All I said was that I would like to see something happen with david and regina. My opinion, my personal choice. Not trying to insult or upset anyone. Just stating a fact.
Oh i agree! I I don't think Regina will ever be able maintain being a good person, and she would have to maintain it because she isn't a good person,no matter how much she wants to be.The only thing i don't question is her love for Henry... She definitely wants revenge, and control that's been all she knows she doesn't know any other way,and honestly if someone told her it could be different i doubt she would want that.
Yeah I definitely got the idea that she liked him "Heart of Darkness". There is a softening of her expression the minute he walks in the room. Will be interesting to see if we are right. The next two episodes will be very telling. I do think she sounds sincere though. And I like the idea of the saving Snow, saving David parallel. Interesting insight.
Am I the only who loves Josh Dallas and wish he has another show/movie to show his talent? This show with its awful David plots doesn't make justice to Josh talent. I feeling so so so bad for him. He just cry (as David) in every episode. No more. Poor Josh.
Most people are probably thinking that because Regina actually knows who she is. She knows Charming is her stepson-in-law. She just doesn't care. If she was just as in the dark as the other characters it wouldn't be as bad at all. It would just be another attempted romance in the show. I think that's where a lot of the awkwardness is coming from.
I'm not talking about your opinion, talking about how you said it, that the love for David doing the right thing by other fans was making you ship Regina/David more.
I'm not freaking out over David Regina cause it would be out of character if he slept with Regina. If it does happen, I'll freak then.
I just get this feeling someone's trying to make their opinions seem like the best and only way of making things interesting and that everyone else is wrong and should see their way.
Excuse me but you seem to be mixing me up with another poster. I never said anything like that. I said everyone hating on the IDEA of them together was making me ship it more. That is a totally seperate thing and it has nothing to do with David's behaviour or the fans wanting him to do the right thing. And I didn't do an evil laugh. A simple Hahaha was all that was in post. Not evil. But you know what I don't know why I am even explaining myseff to you. This is not a David or Snowing appreciation thread and I can say whatever I like.
I love how emotional the character is though. It's a little hard to do anything else at this point, but yeah, need to find something for him to do outside romance troubles so he's not seemingly always crying. It's so easy to balance it in fairytale world with the adventure, but real world, it's hard to make things exciting for some characters.
That's why most of the shows I watch are fictional adventure type shows on TV. Escape real world, cause it's boring. I live for good guys/super heros ;)
Anyone else think she called him a 'knight in shining armour' as they're walking up to her house? He says 'it's more like flannel, but you're welcome', but we don't hear what that's in response to. Anyone else willing to bet she calls him a knight in shining armour just before that? I see a lot of people rolling their eyes at the references to magic and various other aspects of the FT world, but I love it ^.^ So cute
1) we know she is sympathetic towards David. 2) It fits her character development 3) Its a very logical step on destroying his relationship for her. 4) its a good way to develop David's character more, reflecting on how his relationship with MM began and forming a coherent reasons for mm/david pairing through the things they overcome.
David/Regina is no less ooc than david/kathryn and mm/whale. Both of those happened.
We know their ftl bnackground so it seems unfitting to us. They do not. For David and MM there's no real reason on why they should even be in love. Situations and missteps like that let them discover and form that reason as they overcome them.
The "moral premise" has been subverted since the first episodes by making Evil Queen have reasons for her actions and by making Snow NOT be "just an innocent girl".
It has been done since the start of the show. The black and white has been muddled. No character has been purely black nor purely write. Everyone has darker sides and event he moral compass of the show became the moral compass because of how screwed up he was.
I would not be surprised on if Regina gets dethroned this season and starts her redemption path next season, just as flashbacks show her road towards vengeance she took since stable-boy events. :)
Think you should wait to see the episode before you get so upset about it. Just because she's showing interest in him doesn't mean anything will necessarily happen between them.
Nope it definitely wasn't me but feel free to continue trying to convince me that I typed something that I didn't. I know what I wrote and the truth is, whether you choose to believe it or not, is that I would never intentionally upset a particular fanbase. Yes I like the idea of David and Regina but that does not mean I am sitting here laughing at Snowing or David fans because this might actually happen. If the post came off as petty or childish I apologize, something which I have done already upthread. As I said we were just having a bit of fun as we both enjoy the idea of Evil Charming. Nothing wrong with that. Once again if you believe that I was trying to belittle fans that is your choice but it wasn't my intention. This thread is to discuss the sneak peak, which was a scene between Regina and David. Not everyone is horrified by the idea of something happening between, not everyone is a David/MM shipper, not everyone is seeing this as a simple act of revenge for Regina. We believe something else might be gong on with her. Anyway this whole discussion is irrelevant as it is never going happen. He is gonna stop it.
One don't call me dear,i wasn't rude to you so i don't know why you are being rude to me.Just like you can express your opinion i can express mine.Debating is one thing, trying to shove your ideas, your beliefs down someones throat is not debating.
C P I'm not apologizing for my opinion. I've written nothing but reasonable, argumented and respectful comments.
I expressed an opinion that comments like "I want to vomit", or "some opinions are disturbing", or "OUaT is not a soap opera", or "I'll stop watching OUaT if David so much as kisses her" etc, as well as personal attacks against EvilRegals & EvilCharmings are making me want to see more Regina/David development than I actually expect in next episode. The *EvilLaugh* was an ironic reference to Regina's nickname, not at all a way to belittle other fans - if you misinterpreted it, that's your fault, not mine. And I found your comment that "And if it doesn't happen, then we'll get the right to laugh back at you." to be "childish" and uncalled for. You ask me to respect your opinion, then you have to respect mine.
Oh I like that idea. Like her redemption arc could mirror her descent into darkness and her quest for revenge in FTL. That would be an interesting parrallel for the writers to go with.
Hugging you right back at. Honestly you can't say anything here sometimes without it being taken the wrong way. Do you have a tumblr account. Maybe we could have a little chat about Evil Charming there!!!!
All the "happy endings" have been the moral resolutions that we expect them to be: Jiminy finds his conscience and is able to help others, etc. Except well, maybe, Belle because they changed that story so drastically, but fundamentally I think we were supposed to still believe Belle saw the good inside. Nevertheless, giving additional backstory, mixing the fairytale plots and characters hasn't altered the basic mix of good/evil and hasn't "subverted" the intent of the original fairytales. Adding color, blurring lines, fleshing out characters, these don't undermine the basic premise. In Storybrooke, I look at it that we are seeing the same characters on different paths. They have to re-find who they are and who they can be. If they didn't have magic working for them, instead they had magic working against them, could they still be good and find a way for good to triumph over evil? In this episode sneak, Regina is using David's basic good heroic nature against him. So people who want him to achieve his Charming potential don't want to see him fall for Regina's manipulations (again).
I'm not saying you need to agree with my interpretation. There are many valid ways of watching the show and enjoying the show. But that is why people don't inherently see the show the way you do.
No, unfortunately I don't have tumblr yet. :( Will have to make one though, hopefully this weekend. :) I have twitter (@priheymadonna), getglue and I also have a livejournal account, but I haven't really posted anything there. Far too many communities to keep up with! :D
Revenge is pretty much all that fuels her. All that she lives for.
I feel more sad for her than angry. Life and everything that happened to her reduced the woman she once was into someone who lives for one goal only, feels already defeated in her life and has forfeited everything for one goal and supposedly will never be able to find happiness.
Thats quite a sad existence, and IMO, she is self-aware of that.
Oh right when you do make one be sure to follow me. Mine is bbroccs@tumblr.com. It's mostly castle, once, skins and buffy stuff. Along with my many Regina ships. I do post on fanforum sometimes as well but just in the evil regals and Daniel/Regina thread.
It's too bad your getting upset, but I don't like shows where people don't have to go through things in order to find themselves.
I know some people turn on the TV to smile, I turn on the TV to get a mixed bag, because I would rather watch something that relates to me and my emotions, then something that doesn't make me think about life at all.
I personally think it's brilliant to have a story where fairy tales are exposed and complicated and their lives are harder, because of the ability to have so much physical power and then to see how that would all manifest into our modern every day...and how in what's missing in either world is fogiveness and compassion...and that this heavy denialed girl is the one to save them all...the one that doesn't believe in magic
I want the show to be on a few more seasons...so I don't expect some kind of resolution with Emma or really any of them until the twards the end of the series...
In order to really know ourselves we have to experience and be reminded how we feel about things...because feeling is believing and believing is identity.
Yeah it came off wrong. I never said I'd actually laugh back, I said I wouldn't but I would be able to if I was that type of person, which I'm not. I do respect your opinion, if you think otherwise, then you are also misunderstanding me and I'll apologize for that where you won't. I never meant to come off that way. I don't want to argue, just saying my opinion is equal to everyone elses.
It's different because David and MM weren't officially in a relationship when MM had that one night stand and David remembered being married to Kathryn. David sleeping with Regina now is like doing opposite of what he's trying to do, which is getting MM to be with him again. Sleeping with Regina would be pushing MM away, and I figure if Regina gets him, she would not be quiet about it because she wants them to stay apart. MM would say I reject you because of what you did and you immediately turn to Regina? If you wanted me, you wouldn't have done that. You would have fought for me instead of sleeping with the first woman who wants to go at it. At least, that is how I see it.
Yeah kind of hard to tell gender on internet. And why he doesn't understand why we don't want David/Regina to happen. I'm a girly girl when it comes to romance. I have a strict view on how someone should act. If I were Mary, I would be very upset if David slept with Regina if I found out, which is likely because if I were Regina I'd be boasting so MM hears and it ruins their relationship even more.
And you know what i find funny,i understand both sides and agree to some degree.I'm not saying i would personally do this but if he and Regina find themselves together in bed,or just having dinner out somewhere it isn't a big deal.It won't last we all know that, they have both ( him and MM) had sexual encounters with other people before..ah,you know i could go on but i'm not, i'm pretty fed up with everyone freaking out about something we are not even sure its going to happen, with people getting mad, insulted, and for the life of me and i don't understand, people won't give this a rest.I know you would be upset,i don't know what to say about that, all i do know is that life whether in a fairytale or not is difficult, nothing is black or white, that's a life lesson i learn years ago.But what i can say is,David,or another guy will not go and sleep around just because one might say not tonight, not if one is in a committed relationship. But David as a man,not Charm already lied to MM,to and to his wife so i don't see why your upset with him for possibly being with Regina, when he already lied, that is why you should be upset,or not trust him, because of that, not because of something that might happen. :)
I honestly don't mind at all the regina/David thing^^;; But I'm also not invested with the show. I watch it, I enjoy it. I'm watching the promos, the sneak peek, I wanna know what happen next.....but I don't 'feel' for the characters.
I'm just saying it doesn't need to get worst. If David had had some good moments since he got a memory in the real world, I'd feel different. But he hasn't done much to impress.
I'm not mad about it yet cause it hasn't happened yet. Just saying I would be. The writers haven't failed me yet, so I trust them not to do it. We'll see if they're worthy.
Good i'm glad your not upset! I understand where you are coming from, and guess we will just wait and see.which won't be long now.Yeah,i've been waiting for David and Emma to impress me,they have both been badly written....
I personaly don't hate David, but I think he has been pretty unappealing (dishonest, weak and cowardly) almost for the whole season (in contrast with Charming who is loyal, strong and brave).
The actor who played Jack Shaphard on LOST, Matthew Fox, was 13 years older than his co-star Evangeline Lilly. I didn't even think once about their age difference when they were hooking up on the show. Josh Dallas and Lana Parrilla are basically the same age. Only four years separates them, and they're both in their 30s.
And if it doesn't happen, then we'll get the right to laugh back at you. People have the right to be appalled if they want to be. Got to respect other opinions.
I get you want it to happen, I respect your opinion, I won't laugh back in your face if you're wrong. But just cause you think that way doesn't mean it's the best path/doesn't mean you're right, doesn't mean your opinion is better than anyone else's.
Is that too much to ask?
then ask someone to tell me what happened in the episode that will go on Sunday because I will just see if David did not behave like a fool weak. I almost threw up watching this scene. if they have sex, this tv-show is over for me
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ahhhhh! Why did it stop there??
ReplyDeleteOh god, that felt weird. David and Regina? No.
ReplyDeleteAlthough being unquestionably insane, lets face it, Regina is a very beautiful woman. I can't imagine many men saying no to her.
ReplyDeleteI think she really likes him,it didn't look like she was just trying to get back at MM.
ReplyDeleteI felt so uncomfortable watching that.
ReplyDeleteOh, Regina, I love you.
ReplyDeleteIf this is supposed to be further evidence of Regina's evilness it's really failing after the stuff with Mary Margaret and Sidney which was actual bad stuff.
NOOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that was awkward. She may like him, but it certainly isn't mutual.
ReplyDeleteI never liked the idea of this particular plot line but this made me laugh. I agree that the lack of musical score makes it a bit weird (there was one for Stable Boy too that actually worked much better in the ep itself with the score), but this is making me laugh because David is so... adorably clueless. "It was a VERY cold night" lmao.
ReplyDeleteYou go, Regina. I would want to sleep with David, too. But I don't see much of a point to this.
Okay, this is just weird. I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I just vomited in my mouth a little. Isn't she too...what's the word?...OLD for David?
ReplyDeleteBut she's not that old - like 6 or 7 years older than Snow.
ReplyDeleteWhy is the song, "Stacey's Mom" playing in my head now...:p
ReplyDeleteThe "magic" jokes are getting a bit old. Great sneak peek otherwise. I know I sure as hell wouldn't turn her down.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pretty compelling performance, but I want to know if the story she told him is true...part of me thinks it could be, part of the time I think Storybrooke is about attempting second chances...but boy dies she get good scenes!
ReplyDeleteThere's no way it can be true. I mean, she knew exactly what was wrong with him when they came through although I'm still completely unclear about why she would have bothered letting him live at all. Why not just kill him?
ReplyDeleteOld how?
ReplyDeleteI guess the first try will fail, hence her shattering the mirror. Which is less about the fact that it failed and more about the fact that Regina is getting rejected. She wants love and to be loved, in her own twisted way, but she certainly wants that. And that rejection is what makes her angry at herself smashing her reflection.
ReplyDeleteHowever I bet something else happens in the episode which ends with second try succeeding as cliffhanger, or something having MM and David deal with the flalout till the reunion in finale.
ReplyDeleteShe is not old at all and she is gorgeous. I don't mean to be intrusive, but how old are you?
ReplyDeleteI only ask that because up to a certain age people tend to think that anyone over 30 is old. I remember when I was 18 thinking 30-year-olds would ruin any party because they were "old".
Anyhow, the scene was forced and weird, but not because she is in any way too old for him.
Please make the "magic" jokes stop. They are really getting old.
ReplyDeleteI like your take on things. It really does seem to make sense: mirror shattering, second attempt, classic cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteI like your take on things. It really does seem to make sense: mirror shattering, second attempt, classic cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh this is so uncomfortable! I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteIMO: thank God it stopped there. Awkward.
ReplyDeleteLOL This is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAm I just imagining things or is Regina showing signs of guilt?
Had she killed him, MM wouldn't have suffered at all, because MM didn't remember him. Since she wants MM to suffer even more than she suffered, she needed him to come back to life and to stop them from being together.
ReplyDeleteVery odd indeed.
ReplyDeleteDAMN,WHERE'S MY JAW?? OH HEY, it's on the floor. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteAhjfrgnfffdf, feelings, getting incoherent here! On the one hand, holy smokes! Lana & Josh ♥ ♥ ♥
On the other, would it kill them to show us 10 more seconds?!?!?
Except that she never intended for the curse to stop breaking, thus she never intended for him to wake up. Mary Margaret was just chillaxing for almost 30 years not knowing he even existed. So why she needed to keep him around in perpetuity on the off chance that they would maybe fall in love (considering she found Kathryn immediately with the intention of them never being together kind of speaks against that too).
ReplyDeleteThat's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteWhat I find interesting is that Regina's story about how show found David mirrors the story of how Emma was found.
ReplyDeleteI get the feeling Regina genuinely cares for David.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a point either. Like they needed something to act as a C plot but couldn't think of something and needed to somehow shoehorn Lana into the episode.
ReplyDeleteNothing about it makes any logical sense and we've even had writers explain it with "Regina is ~evil!" Yes, fresh off of squishing someone's heart, attempting to frame someone for a murder and then having someone else take the blame, making a move on a single guy who is actually NOT EVEN DATING the chick you want to get back at is just not really evil.
And if Mary Margaret can get over him making a fool of her by cheating on his wife with her and thinking she was a murderer than sleeping with someone else while he was single isn't THAT big of a roadblock.
Yikes! I hope David smacks her right in the gob the cheeky mare!!!! Please let him grow a backbone?
ReplyDeleteUgh. Emma. :( I'm so disappointed in how they wrote her post-1.09. It's like she just got written like more and more of a moron.
ReplyDeleteWell we don't actually know yet if he sleeps with her, but I agree with you about needing some development. Maybe we'll get it here? I mean we know Regina breaks a mirror shortly after this scene (she's wearing that exact dress in the promo), so he probably turns her down.
ReplyDeleteI don't agree that she doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteThey evened out the ages strangely. In the story, Regina was/is a lot older than Snow, but they never aged her. She should be Mom age or at least much older big sister age compared with Snow. I've always overlooked it, but getting it on with your stepdaughter's husband is kinda creepy.
ReplyDeleteWeird! Very very weird! Please, stop doing this! David, run!
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the episode where Regina breaks her mirror because she is so angry about something? I assume David will turn her down and Regina will be in such a rage she smashes her mirror.
ReplyDeleteWell she killed Graham the last time she felt betrayed.
ReplyDeleteI think she is selfish and corrupted by power. I don't know if she can ever be happy because she wouldn't want to ever have an equal relationship with someone.
ReplyDeleteJosh Dallas = adorable, easy on the eyes. Plus Regina does have a soft spot for him. Plus she's very lonely. And what if she actually likes him? Sure, in her mind it's more about the revenge, but the additional reasons couldn't hurt. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's why she killed Graham. Graham and Emma were extremely close to finding her secret chamber of hearts and Graham had regained parts of his Huntsman memories. She killed him because he was simply becoming too much of a threat.
ReplyDeleteI personally find this storyline cliché (I remember watching the trailer for... Mirror Mirror I think and thinking omg thank God OUAT didn't go the same route w/the Evil Queen wanting Snow White's boyfriend). And here we go....
ReplyDeleteThat said, I kind of agree with Jane Espenson (and basically everyone) that this IS really the most evil she could do but I feel this would have worked better as a large plotline.
ReplyDeletePerhaps she used her magical powers to stop aging and be the fairest of them all.
ReplyDeleteI think Regina is 8 years older than Snow. Snow was supposed to be 12, I think, and Regina was 19 or 20 in Stable Boy? Or something like that.
ReplyDeleteRegina's face in reaction was worth it though :D
ReplyDeleteI know right! Why did the writers do this to her? She certainly wasn't gullible when she first arrived in Storybrooke, and from there she went downhill....I don't get it,and i really would like to know why..
ReplyDeleteI think she considered him a threat because he wasn't her pawn anymore. She hasn't killed Gold or Jefferson and both of them know the truth. He questioned her, she didn't have complete control over him anymore, so she killed him. I think if Sidney ever betrayed her she'd kill him too.
ReplyDeleteShe sees her life as nothing left to live for. She does not care what happens to her how far she goes or how evil she becomes as long as the goal of her revenge is achieved.
ReplyDeleteEver since losing Daniel she has been resigned on her life(her look of complete defeat even before snow is revealed).
ReplyDeletethat woman would sell her soul(again) for someone to love her....rejection is not something she takes kindly.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen her reaching out, certainly not reaching out for love. She could have let Graham in, she could try to love Henry, but she isn't capable of it and she isn't interested in it. Love is a weakness, you have to make yourself vulnerable for it. And neither of those are concepts that Regina is interested in.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???????????
ReplyDeleteI thought this would be a little awkward. But it wasn't. And seriously, Lana/Regina is so gorgeous, if David refuses her, then there is something very, very wrong with his head.
ReplyDeleteI feel like they wanted to have Gold and Regina beat her and have her be an underdog, but she didn't have to break the law or fall for really stupid things to do that. They already have the game rigged. Then the stupid shit with her being too dumb to go to the scene of the crime before August told her was to make her trust August but she should have known to do that on her OWN. Writers, what are you doing to your hero?
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteNot really. Regina was supposed to be about 19/20 and Snow 12. So by the time Snow is an adult Regina has been married to Leopold for ten or so years. Even by the start of the curse Snow would only have been about 25 (rumour has it scripts put her around this age) and Regina in her early 30s.
ReplyDeleteNot since the stable boy died.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteYou must be young otherwise you would know that isn't "old" by any stretch of the imagination!
ReplyDeleteHe's gonna back away. He's gonna back away. He's gonna back away.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to keep telling myself that. Over and over and over...
Did they say it or are we guessing? I don't care what they did to her hair, she was no more 19 than Luke Perry was in high school. I maybe would have given her mid-20's and that is generous. But if they said it, I'll accept it.
ReplyDeleteOMG David...no
ReplyDeleteReally awful and disgusting. I wanna vomit. Writers, I'm done with the show.
ReplyDeletethen ask
ReplyDeletesomeone to tell me what happened in the episode that will go on Sunday because I will just see if David did not behave like a fool weak.
I almost
threw up watching this scene. if they
have sex, this tv-show is over for me
Lana said in interviews that she was playing 15ish years younger.
ReplyDeleteI think she loves Henry without condition. But why else would she, her own parents put conditions on love and she had no other chance to form any meaningful attachments to anyone because she was forced into a marrying Leopold.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteShe might have been trying...
ReplyDeleteI invite you to read forums, blogs, tumblr, twitter......There are people very angry. Although not everyone is a snowing shipper, a big percentage of the fandom is. So......if they wanna lose viewers......perfect.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my english
What exactly is awful and disgusting?
ReplyDeleteEvil Queen and Charming flirting. Charming (David) being, again, stupid and annoying. Writers making David in every episode an idiot. Writers not having better plots to keep Snow and Charming apart than this awful David and Mary storyline (and now with Regina....Oh Dios mio¡¡)
ReplyDeleteYes. Vocal minority tends to spread out in their rage.
ReplyDeleteWriters are writing the show and now the fandom and fandom should not be able to control the direction of the show :)
Ships are just that - a narrative device.
ReplyDeletehow horrifying! how dare those writers add depth and gray-morality! :<
A big percentage of the fandom? I think you're exaggerating.
ReplyDeleteSorry i did not mean to get you so upset! Yeah i understand, they even turned Emma into an idiot..I stopped watching for a few episodes maybe it will get better in season two?
ReplyDeleteNot everyone is angry.
ReplyDeleteSwan Queen is not the biggest group of shippers. They have said themselves that they are in the minority. They are just the most vocal, because of all of the hate they've gotten. And, Swan Queen shippers don't like this storyline either. They have posted No, Regina! You love Emma.
DeleteSnowing is definitely the most popular ship. Their shippers are not as vocal cause it's canon, their ship takes up most of the show, and we know they'll end up together. I ship Snowing, but I more
vocal about ships that are in more danger or not canon like Rumbelle and Mad Swan.
Agreed she is definitely a stunner.
ReplyDeleteI would agree that it was a mix of both the threat and his rejection, but to me it was absolutely not clear that rejection was her only motive for killing him.
ReplyDeleteI have had this thought in my head for a long time and this scene did nothing to quell those suspicions. Can't wait to see how the rest of the scene plays out. Alot of people have been saying it is awkward. I honestly saw none in the scene. Josh and Lana have great chemistry. Oh why can't Sunday just be here.
ReplyDeletePlease, like David's going to do anything with her. Yeah, it was gross, but nothing's going to happen past this.
ReplyDeleteI agree I really think she likes him and have for a while. I could be totally wrong and it is all an act but she just seems so genuine in these scenes.
ReplyDeleteRooting for Charming/Snow is a major tenet of the show. They are the representative couple for good, they are Emma's family. So I would say most viewers who like the show are on their side.
ReplyDeleteI've never been one of those people who think that the majority of viewers are watching a show that they wish they could fundamentally change.
Not everyone is snowing fan, yeah, as not everyone is rumbelle fan or swan queen fan.
ReplyDeleteThat's the true.
I agree, I think I'm gonna stop watching the show. I watch tv to be happy and to enjoy shows, not to be angry.
ReplyDeletenot to mention that the act of sleeping does not even end that pairing.
ReplyDeleteit just adds more stuff to overcome. its a classic character struggle. Its not the end of the pairing and its certainly not the end of the world.
What's with all the fandom hate? Enough already, I get it that you're appalled, I get it that you hate Regina and don't want her to "taint" Prince Charming.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, all this backlash is making me root for Regina/David even more. *EvilLaugh*
Haha I am a girl and I am not sure I would turn her down either if she came at me looking like that.
ReplyDeleteWhen people understand that's a TV SHOW based on fairy tales, not a real life. In real life people has sex with another one, but in my beloved OUaT I don't wanna see Charming having sex with Regina or Mary having sex with August or Belle having sex with Jiminny.
ReplyDeleteNothing happens, perfecto, fabuloso, but David acts, AGAIN, as fucking boring and idiot person. And I'm tired, there isnt any evolution on him.
I don't hate Regina. I love to hate her and I want she dies at the end, but I find her enjoyable. What I hate are awful plots. It's not the same.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. We see too much of "vulnerable" Regina for her to have no heart at all. It's still there and every now and again we see that surface.
ReplyDeleteRegina and David flirting. I wouldn't exactly call their conversation flirting or maybe I am doing it wrong. Plus I am utterly baffled that a storyline like this hasn't happened till now. Regina is trying to take revenge what better way to do that than attempt to sleep with the man she loves.
ReplyDeleteI look at the spoiler and say, "hey they are trying to scare us by insinuating that David is going to do something bad." But, fans get feisty when people on boards try to make the point that the bad thing should happen and that in fact it would be a good thing in direct opposition to very intent of the spoiler.
ReplyDeleteand when will people understand that OUAT is a tv show based on SUBVERTING the fairytale logic and injecting sense of realism and gray-morality into fairy tale world?
ReplyDeleteThe whole core of the show, the whole idea of the show is taking those characters and doing something with them that viewer WOULD NOT expect.
I'd say in fact taht its outright naive to expect that the show would end with regina dead and everyone living happily ever after. the writing staff is far too clever and far too cruel and far too creative to allow it
I find it hilarious that that certain part of fandom views it as "tainting".
ReplyDeleteWe are already exploring darker sides of Snow White and the thin line that separates her from becoming someone like Regina.
ReplyDeleteExactly because a big part of this of this season is charming/snow, such plotline makes even more sense as it allows viewers to experience the pairing going through one of possibly biggest trials of true love one can actually go through and seeeing how the pairing gets back on their feet after it has happened is exciting and fascinating.
ReplyDeleteHahaha we can be evil charming shippers together cos all this hate is making me ship it as well. Evil Charming FTW.
ReplyDeleteI'll drink to that! (a glass of apple cider, of course, hahaha) Evil Charming FTW!
ReplyDeleteI've read what you think makes for a good plotline. And I've tried to explain my view, which I'd like to think you've read. I'm going to leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteexactly.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you!!!!!I love the name though Evil Charming. Has a nice ring to it.
ReplyDeleteConsidering the very first pilot episode opened with
ReplyDelete"filled with fairytale characters we know....or think that we know"
and every episode after that went out of its way to show us that its DIFFERENT from the "canon" versions, i'd say the fact that show is all about subverting fairytales now goes far beyond mere "opinion".
ReplyDeleteI agree,i think a lot of people are seeing them as the Evil Queen and Charming, maybe they are having a hard time separating the two. It not like Regina is getting back at MM she is the one that rebuffed David numerous times.whether or not anything transpires between the two we will just have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteIf they do i think by the time September rolls around the viewers who were upset will tune in,they will have three and a half months to get over it...
ReplyDelete"You really know how to work some magic". I love those lines where they input meaning like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, Regina. What are you doing? David, don't be an idiot and get out of it as quickly as you can.
Exactly MM/David are not together so its not like she is trying to have an affair with David or anything. I am actually looking forward to this. Should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? It's like the Universe intended this ship to happen, hahaha. :D
ReplyDeleteI think Yop is very frustrated with David's character in general, and i don't think Borednow is helping any..I understand what she is saying, but its more than what Yop is talking about,or more then she wants to hear...
ReplyDeleteIf you call being in love with someone else AKA Mary "wrong".
ReplyDeleteI for one am looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Only thing is I am kinda worried cos if Regina does have feelings for him she is actually just gonna end up getting hurt. I can see him rejecting her already. I imagine David being a nice guy will do it in a kind way but still I hate seeing her sad face.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is i'm anxious to see what happens. Writers, don't fail me now!
ReplyDeleteI agree with every word. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd it would be a pity if next season Regina is completely stripped of her power, alone and desperate, still obsessing only over revenge.
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY what you mean. Lana's so amazing when she's showing a vulnerable side of Regina, all teary-eyed and sad, I just want to give her a hug.
ReplyDeleteAnd if (or when) David rejects her, it's gonna be double-heartbreak because Henry will also be mean to her earlier that day.
No wonder she takes it out on that mirror.
I have to say, Regina may be an insidiously vile woman but I do admire her unrelenting tenacity. She just doesn't quit. Ever.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it doesn't happen, then we'll get to laugh back at you. People have the right to be appalled if they want to be. Got to respect other opinions.
ReplyDeleteI get you want it to happen, doesn't mean it's the best path/doesn't mean you're right, doesn't mean your opinion is better than anyone else's.
ReplyDeleteI have read plenty of books and seen plenty of shows that were really interesting and did not have one of the lead males jumping in bed with the first person he sees cause the person he's meant to be with rejected him.
ReplyDeleteThat's childish. This makes it hard to respect you 2.
ReplyDeleteIf it doesn't happen would you like people to spit something back in your faces?
People really invest themselves in the characters, otherwise, what's the point of watching? Nothing wrong with wanting to see a fav character at their best because they're cared about.
Exactly. At the core this is still a show about good vs. evil last time I checked. And evil characters not being so evil, which I love. I really like the human side of Rumple, for one. As for the good, the show has done a decent job "graying" the characters in the past without going too far and I'd like it to stay that way.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking. And I got the vibe that she liked him even in scenes from previous episodes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also believe she sounds sincere when she says "I remember thinking just to forget about it and I didn't really need it, but something inside me told me to turn around and go back".
It's possible that when the Dark Curse was enacted Charming did end up somewhere outside in the storm, wounded and helpless, and Regina took him to the hospital. It would be a nice parallel with saving Snow and regretting it afterwards.
Getting that feeling too huh?
ReplyDeleteHa! Yep! :)
ReplyDeletewow
Plus, Mary and David had both had sex with other people already. (Doctor Whale and Kathryn.) David/Regina wouldn't be a nail in the coffin. This isn't a big deal.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the overreaction, tbh, and I absolutely love Snow/Charming.
Well what I mean by true is, where does the the Storybrooke memory start...it could be that other events had already been in play prior to even finding Charming/David...So far we haven't seen any episodes which convey a "sense" of arrival...we don't know how the "time" aspect works!
ReplyDeleteShe may have bothered depending on Fairy Tale Land...If she did something similar to get back at Snow there, then she may be forced by repeated that "fate" here as part of the curse...I don't think Regina has absolute control over the situation, in fact the last episode gives us wind that Rumple really is the one behind creating the curse...but even he may have gone about it from others gathered information....
I thought she was supposed to be older than 20. Her mother said that she's becoming an old maid and that all the other girls her age are already married. But I don't think her actual age was mentioned in the episode, so we can all just guess.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember that David has already had sex with Kathryn and Mary had sex with Doctor Whale? THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL.
ReplyDeleteBesides, he'll most likely turn her down. Calm down and wait until the episode airs.
If after seeing this scene Regina / David I got sick and almost vomit. I decided that I will not see this episode. Unless someone tell me that David pushed Regina away.
ReplyDeleteUGH UGH UGH If this happens decidedly Once Upon a Time will lose a fan.
I hate Soap Operas.
I do think they are taking it a tad too far, but on the other hand, denial is easier than acceptance...and since she may be parallelled to Alice in Wonderland, then she has a long long road full of both helpful and hurtful people ahead of her...
ReplyDeleteIt's also possible that Storybrooke may not just reflect the past...it might also some how reflect the future...they may be things about Emma we don't understand yet, and we need to give the writers the time to let that unwind.
ReplyDeleteWhat is overreaction to you is simply reaction to other people. Why should they not express themselves freely if they don't like something?
ReplyDeleteTHIS
ReplyDeleteApplause¡
ReplyDeleteApplause¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
ReplyDeleteBelle is hot too, so......do you think Charming should sleep with Belle too?
Some opinions are disturbing.
As she is hot, sleep with her although you love another woman........perfect...............................
I just think people are freaking out over nothing. I can understand why they'd be worried, but this overreaction is a little much.
ReplyDeleteIf Regina and David happens, I want Bella with August, Rumpel with Ruby, Mary with Jiminny.....If everything can be because "they are cursed"......SEX with everyone¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ ¬¬. OUAT before: amazing and great fairy tale. OUAT now: boring and awful soap opera.
ReplyDeleteIf Regina and David happens A real and BIG SOAP OPERA becomes :/
ReplyDeleteWell I think Regina's true intentions are hard to see through...remember what she died to Graham...I don't agree that she is lonely too, but she's one of those characters that she has this nice moment and then she suddenly realizes how vulnerable she is, and turns around after doing something incredibly nice, to something absolutely sinister.
ReplyDeleteI think Regina has a lot of baggage, and I def feel for her, but I know she's not going to just cave in to goodness, because she still cares more about having control and revenge, than being happy and learning to forgive...
Many years ago they considered a girl who wasn't married by the age of 20 an old maid.Today most people think 20 is still too young to be married..
ReplyDeleteWhy what did I say that was so wrong. All I said was that I would like to see something happen with david and regina. My opinion, my personal choice. Not trying to insult or upset anyone. Just stating a fact.
ReplyDeleteIt's true we don't know what is the customary age for marriage in Fairytale land. That's why I said I was just guessing as is everyone else.
ReplyDeleteOh i agree! I I don't think Regina will ever be able maintain being a good person, and she would have to maintain it because she isn't a good person,no matter how much she wants to be.The only thing i don't question is her love for Henry...
ReplyDeleteShe definitely wants revenge, and control that's been all she knows she doesn't know any other way,and honestly if someone told her it could be different i doubt she would want that.
Wow i never thought about her not having a counterpart, i never thought of it that way! You just gave me something to think about.... :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I definitely got the idea that she liked him "Heart of Darkness". There is a softening of her expression the minute he walks in the room. Will be interesting to see if we are right. The next two episodes will be very telling. I do think she sounds sincere though. And I like the idea of the saving Snow, saving David parallel. Interesting insight.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only who loves Josh Dallas and wish he has another show/movie to show his talent? This show with its awful David plots doesn't make justice to Josh talent. I feeling so so so bad for him. He just cry (as David) in every episode. No more. Poor Josh.
ReplyDeleteMost people are probably thinking that because Regina actually knows who she is. She knows Charming is her stepson-in-law. She just doesn't care. If she was just as in the dark as the other characters it wouldn't be as bad at all. It would just be another attempted romance in the show. I think that's where a lot of the awkwardness is coming from.
ReplyDeleteI'm not talking about your opinion, talking about how you said it, that the love for David doing the right thing by other fans was making you ship Regina/David more.
ReplyDeleteI'm not freaking out over David Regina cause it would be out of character if he slept with Regina. If it does happen, I'll freak then.
ReplyDeleteI just get this feeling someone's trying to make their opinions seem like the best and only way of making things interesting and that everyone else is wrong and should see their way.
ReplyDeleteHe was in Thor movie. :D
ReplyDeleteI love how emotional the character is though.
ReplyDeleteI saw this *Evil laugh* the post must have been edited. If it wasn't you, my mistake. But it was there.
ReplyDeleteThe way it was written came off as belitting people who didn't like the idea of David hopping into bed with the first woman that wants him to.
The references never bother me. They are funny at times.
ReplyDeleteExcept that there's nothing sudden in this :)
ReplyDelete1) we know she is sympathetic towards David.
2) It fits her character development
3) Its a very logical step on destroying his relationship for her.
4) its a good way to develop David's character more, reflecting on how his relationship with MM began and forming a coherent reasons for mm/david pairing through the things they overcome.
Really? not seeing it. WE have seen David, normal, confused, innocent guy.
ReplyDeleteThe undeserved hate of the fandom not counting, he has yet to REALLY mess up.
David/Regina is no less ooc than david/kathryn and mm/whale. Both of those happened.
ReplyDeleteWe know their ftl bnackground so it seems unfitting to us.
ReplyDeleteIt has been done since the start of the show. The black and white has been muddled. No character has been purely black nor purely write. Everyone has darker sides and event he moral compass of the show became the moral compass because of how screwed up he was.
That's called debating, dear. Don't like? don't participate. And its a he.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised on if Regina gets dethroned this season and starts her redemption path next season, just as flashbacks show her road towards vengeance she took since stable-boy events. :)
Think you should wait to see the episode before you get so upset about it. Just because she's showing interest in him doesn't mean anything will necessarily happen between them.
ReplyDeleteCant wait for this! Only recently watched this show and its certainly one of the best!
ReplyDeleteNope it definitely wasn't me but feel free to continue trying to convince me that I typed something that I didn't.
ReplyDeleteOne don't call me dear,i wasn't rude to you so i don't know why you are being rude to me.Just like you can express your opinion i can express mine.Debating is one thing, trying to shove your ideas, your beliefs down someones throat is not debating.
ReplyDeleteC P I'm not apologizing for my opinion. I've written nothing but reasonable, argumented and respectful comments.
ReplyDeleteI expressed an opinion that comments like "I want to vomit", or "some opinions are disturbing", or "OUaT is not a soap opera", or "I'll stop watching OUaT if David so much as kisses her" etc, as well as personal attacks against EvilRegals & EvilCharmings are making me want to see more Regina/David development than I actually expect in next episode.
Well said!!!! I think you put it better than I did.
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) (hug)
ReplyDeleteOh I like that idea. Like her redemption arc could mirror her descent into darkness and her quest for revenge in FTL. That would be an interesting parrallel for the writers to go with.
ReplyDeleteHugging you right back at. Honestly you can't say anything here sometimes without it being taken the wrong way. Do you have a tumblr account. Maybe we could have a little chat about Evil Charming there!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll the "happy endings" have been the moral resolutions that we expect them to be: Jiminy finds his conscience and is able to help others, etc.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying you need to agree with my interpretation. There are many valid ways of watching the show and enjoying the show. But that is why people don't inherently see the show the way you do.
No, unfortunately I don't have tumblr yet. :( Will have to make one though, hopefully this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI have twitter (@priheymadonna), getglue and I also have a livejournal account, but I haven't really posted anything there. Far too many communities to keep up with! :D
Revenge is pretty much all that fuels her. All that she lives for.
ReplyDeleteI feel more sad for her than angry. Life and everything that happened to her reduced the woman she once was into someone who lives for one goal only, feels already defeated in her life and has forfeited everything for one goal and supposedly will never be able to find happiness.
Thats quite a sad existence, and IMO, she is self-aware of that.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I found this so late :(
Oh right when you do make one be sure to follow me. Mine is bbroccs@tumblr.com. It's mostly castle, once, skins and buffy stuff. Along with my many Regina ships. I do post on fanforum sometimes as well but just in the evil regals and Daniel/Regina thread.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad your getting upset, but I don't like shows where people don't have to go through things in order to find themselves.
ReplyDeleteI know some people turn on the TV to smile, I turn on the TV to get a mixed bag, because I would rather watch something that relates to me and my emotions, then something that doesn't make me think about life at all.
Will do. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah it came off wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt's different because David and MM weren't officially in a relationship when MM had that one night stand and David remembered being married to Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteYeah kind of hard to tell gender on internet.
ReplyDeleteAnd you know what i find funny,i understand both sides and agree to some degree.I'm not saying i would personally do this but if he and Regina find themselves together in bed,or just having dinner out somewhere it isn't a big deal.It won't last we all know that, they have both ( him and MM) had sexual encounters with other people before..ah,you know i could go on but i'm not, i'm pretty fed up with everyone freaking out about something we are not even sure its going to happen, with people getting mad, insulted, and for the life of me and i don't understand, people won't give this a rest.I know you would be upset,i don't know what to say about that, all i do know is that life whether in a fairytale or not is difficult, nothing is black or white, that's a life lesson i learn years ago.But what i can say is,David,or another guy will not go and sleep around just because one might say not tonight, not if one is in a committed relationship. But David as a man,not Charm already lied to MM,to and to his wife so i don't see why your upset with him for possibly being with Regina, when he already lied, that is why you should be upset,or not trust him, because of that, not because of something that might happen. :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't mind at all the regina/David thing^^;; But I'm also not invested with the show. I watch it, I enjoy it. I'm watching the promos, the sneak peek, I wanna know what happen next.....but I don't 'feel' for the characters.
ReplyDeleteReally this episode hasn't even aired yet,and look at the uproar it has caused!
ReplyDeleteI'm just saying it doesn't need to get worst. If David had had some good moments since he got a memory in the real world, I'd feel different. But he hasn't done much to impress.
ReplyDeleteI'm not mad about it yet cause it hasn't happened yet.
ReplyDeleteI personaly don't hate David, but I think he has been pretty unappealing (dishonest, weak and cowardly) almost for the whole season (in contrast with Charming who is loyal, strong and brave).
ReplyDeleteToo old? Not at all.
ReplyDeleteThe actor who played Jack Shaphard on LOST, Matthew Fox, was 13 years
ReplyDeleteolder than his co-star Evangeline Lilly. I didn't even think once about
their age difference when they were hooking up on the show. Josh Dallas
and Lana Parrilla are basically the same age. Only four years separates
them, and they're both in their 30s.
What was that? What was that? What? What? What was that?
ReplyDeleteYay, I finally have a tumblr and I even managed to find you! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if it doesn't happen, then we'll get the right to laugh back at you. People have the right to be appalled if they want to be. Got to respect other opinions.
ReplyDeleteI get you want it to happen, I respect your opinion, I won't laugh back in your face if you're wrong. But just cause you think that way doesn't mean it's the best path/doesn't mean you're right, doesn't mean your opinion is better than anyone else's.
Getting that feeling too huh?
ReplyDeletethen ask
ReplyDeletesomeone to tell me what happened in the episode that will go on Sunday because I will just see if David did not behave like a fool weak.
I almost
threw up watching this scene. if they
have sex, this tv-show is over for me
