IN THE HEART-WRENCHING SEASON EIGHT FINALE, A TERRIBLE EVENT PUTS THE DOCTORS’ LIVES IN JEOPARDY, ON ABC’S “GREY’S ANATOMY”

“Flight” – Faced with a life threatening situation, the doctors must fight to stay alive while trying to save the lives of their peers; Bailey and Ben make a decision regarding their relationship; and Teddy is presented with a tempting offer. Meanwhile, Richard plans a special dinner for the residents, on the Season Finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, MAY 17 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Grey’s Anatomy” stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres, Eric Dane as Mark Sloan, Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey, Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt, Jessica Capshaw as Arizona Robbins, Kim Raver as Teddy Altman, Jesse Williams as Jackson Avery and Sarah Drew as April Kepner.

Guest cast TBA.

“Flight” was written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Rob Corn.

    Ahhhh this terrifies me more and more every time we see something for it haha... though with all the bad, Webber's dinner for the residents sounds really nice.

    Even if they are fighting for their lives, that doesn't necessarily mean any of them would die. What if Richard dies waiting for the residents to arrive at the dinner? He could have a heart attack or a stroke alone because none of the residents are there? That's my theory. I don't think that Cristina will be the one to die. If Sandra Oh wanted to leave and that's why Cristina dies, then I could understand it and be okay with it, but if she dies just to create a new storyline I will be seriously pissed. Sandra, in my opinion, is the best actress on the show.

    Don't know what to think. Sigh, though I don't like the characters the same, in the end I don't think I would like any of them go... These people make the show... Talking about characters I still miss Addison the most... PP is just so much different than GA. Just had to say this.

    It'll be interesting to see how much this episode helps to cull the herd, so to speak.  I guess it all depends on how contract negotiations pan out.

    They fight to stay alive? Doesn't sound like a plane crash where you'll die pretty quickly. They'll probably make it a plane crash where everybody survived with serious injuries and in the end one of them will succumb to his/her injuries...

    don't think it will be a plane crash at all, afterall all the residents will have been back from San Fransico by then so why would they all be in a plane

    yes there are earthquakes in Seattle, it's an interesting theory but thery've already created a hole in the street in a recent episode....
    and why richard would prepare a dinner if there is an earthquake ???

    Well we already know it will not be Meredith, Cristina, Alex, Bailey, Mark or Jackson who dies... My guess is April or Arizona, the latter would be really sad though, don't really care for whiny April.

     Sorry but Shonda said an ORIGINAL cast member they are, Webber,Derek,Meredith,Bailey,Alex,Cristina,Adele.... The other ones are all saved their contract is not up! My guess it will be Alex leaving.

     She is NOT dying she is NOT an Original cast member the one dying is an Original, Shonda stated this. Thy are, Webber,Derek,Meredith,Alex,Bailey,Cristina,Adele... All others are safe and their contract is not up, Arizona mentioned on twitter, she is looking forward to many more episodes with Callie... So you do not need to worry no further ;)

     I think Alex is leaving... or Bailey... but not so on Bailey because Shonda did state, their is darkness to still come to Bailey, this is not it... She stated it's an original cast member Adele is not in any of the last 3 episodes, maybe it could be her? But then again she doesn't need to be killed off, she is already out of the picture, with the other man.

    Maybe you havent seen it, but ausellio ruled out a lot of characters from dying. Mer cris alex bailey jackson and mark

    And in her interviews she's just said that a main character is going to die, not an original
    And she also said there's just some characters that you just cant't kill, i think derek fills into that category
    And i dont thnik that the chief's death could cause such an impac on the fans.... What do you think.??

    Whoever it is, it is definately gonna come from left field, who's to say it could well be Izzie that die's off screen she was an orginal and she does have cancer, it could also make Alex see the light and move on.

    I guess we have to prepare ourselves for the worst ;-) One (favorite) character will surely die in the Season Finale but I'm sure that we won't know who really survives. Shonda will let us believe more residents won't survive 'whatever disaster is coming'...

     It would STILL be Grey's Anatomy because (1) Meredith's mo was such a legend at that hospital; and (2) it would be a play on words: Seattle Grace --> Grey's Anatomy.
