Been a gossip girl fan since season one and have to say, the writers ruined what was originally set up in the first two seasons...I disagree with the "vintage Blair" remark. Vintage Blair equals chemestry sparks between Chuck and Blair....this relationship with Dan is not convincing at all....vintage Blair would be making fun of Dan, not being in a relationship with him. Boo to the writers! Being a true fan, I still watch but I am not happy about the turn of events at all!
I agree with Veronica, though I think that with character progression you'd hope that Blair would've moved on from the high school taunts she'd make against Dan. I'm interested in Dair and I do believe that if their relationship was to have started, it started in the most organic way possible (back to episode eleven, season four) but I do agree that the writers have taken all of their characters and brought them backwards, instead of developing them forwards.
C'mon people, as others have said.. You do not act 16 forever. If you're over 20, are you really the same person you were in high school? I know I'm not. I've grown up, so has Blair (besides that whole princess crap). She still teases Dan about being from Brooklyn, but doesn't hate him for it because thats a childish thing to do. W/E though, I love Dan and Blair together. They're the first real adult relationship on the show (For the gang, not counting the parents). But its true, the writers have brought the characters backwards a bit. Dan and the video.. Serena and Chuck I don't even have to explain for them....
I'm sorry but we shouldn't be seeing "season 1 Blair" in season five unless it's a flashback. I swear, I think the only character that Gossip Girl has been able to write consistently over the course of five seasons has been Dorota.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Some people should learn what evolution means, we aren't 16 forever.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently, Dan need to sell Blair or punch a window to be in a real relationship with her. That's just sad...
