Another refreshingly honest interview from the actor. I had the feeling in 4.16 and 4.17 that the writers had and were just going to gloss over the relationships and i find that unacceptable i want the walter and astrid from seasons 1-3 back.
I also like the fact he acknowledges that the idea olivia would give up all the memories of her life for peter is a tough sell. But i think the fact they wont mention that again is such a cop out.
All in all it is not what i expected from the fringe writers and that is a disappointment
They are heading toward getting Olivia to the place where she needs to be for the end of the season. What could that mean? Where would Olivia need to be? Now I have to wait. Ugh.
Remember, September said that in all timelines Olivia would have to die. I still think that's set up; people have just unfortunately forgotten. :( Not happy about it, but I think THAT may be where they're going. To stop the other side's band of misfits.
I love hearing that at least someone involved with the show finds Olivia rewriting her memories for Peter somewhat problematic. Josh always has such well informed opinions about the show, I really appreciate that, and that hes willing to be candid about it. I do get why they decided to not explore that too deeply on the show though, because on Fringe that would take half a season. I'm definitely a lot more interested in where they've chosen to go.
Sounds like we're heading towards something big for Olivia. I would like to see the old Walter/Peter relationship back but I am enjoying this new version of it.
Actually, I'm glad to hear they understood what dodgy waters they were wading into...which may be why, even though in principle I agree that olivia giving herself up for love is really uncomfortable, it did work for me. And I think it works because she's not the only one. They've all done questionnable things for love.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteYes. Quite charming. And smart.
ReplyDeleteJoshua Jackson's interviews are the best, he insight on the show most of the times matches to that of the fans.
ReplyDeleteJushua is great, he genuinly seems as much a fan of the show as we are!
ReplyDeleteSad?I don't think I could continue watching if Olivia died...
