"shocking developments tied to cortexifan children!" OMG! ---What the heck are they going to do!?! XD
ReplyDeleteAre they all going to get activated and turn into Jones' sleeper agents?! Is Jones a cortexifaner?
What the heck do you guys think this means
(Oh and I hope this is the episode we see Nick Lane again!)
There is no press release for any new Fringe episode without the word 'shocking'. Also doesn't sound like an episode where the worlds get seperated like many assumed...
ReplyDeleteWhat if the Corexifaners are used to FIGHT Jones?! What if they are on 'our' side
ReplyDeleteJones has a TON of creepy stuff on his side.. and a major headstart.. it would be nice for our team to be thrown another bone.. we've always had Olivia (mind powers = bad ass) and now we have a shapeshifter on our side.. of course there's walter brilliance and peter tied to the machine, but i believe in a battle for universes one cannot have too much help. Oh, and we have September ;)
So at last we will find out the true power and fate of the Cortexiphan kids? HELL YES
ReplyDeleteUnless the Cortexiphan kids like somehow separate the worlds with their superpowers? Why and for what reason I do not know.
ReplyDeleteI dunno "world's apart" is one of those phrases that can be taken so many ways!
ReplyDeleteIt def seems like a type of seperation between someone's is implied, but I just don't know in what way to imply it? -Somebody dies? -Do the pairs of Universes diverge and people (Olivia and Peter) get separated? Is there time/reality travel and discover a another relative universe? -Do the Observers lock out people?
It's a great title (goes along with "Alone in the World") -can't wait to see what's happens here!
So what does this mean for Olivia? There is only two ways it could go for the kids,to do good or to be Jones puppets and do bad....What the hell is going on??
ReplyDeleteHow about Cortexiphan kids vs. human shapeshifters? Sounds like the SyFy movie of the week. Also, nice new avatar. Did you get tired of Nina?
ReplyDeleteI def can see that happening!! And I would love to see them X-men themselves! -But I am wondering why there are "shocking developments" tied to the battle....
ReplyDeleteIt would seem likely that the cortexifaners would be used for good, but this synopsis says for it to be shocking, would mean they would have to relate to the battle in an unexpected way...
If we go back to "The Road Not Taken" --we know that they were being activated by ZFT for something, but we never got full wind of what, because 1. ZFT agents didn't activate them right, 2.and/or could not reverse the problems, but later (Over There Part 1) we know NINA and Massive Dynamics did and 3. Jones died and there wasn't a Mean and Walternate and the Machines became the bigger villains of the piece....It's clear now that Jones' agenda is bigger than just using doors to cross the two parallel universes...if we look to the End of Dayers as ZFT parallel, and what ever was going in "Welcome to Westfield", we may want to consider "Black Holes" to 'time travel' some when else as a possible agenda....we know Olivia can makes "cracks"...
Sounds to me like maybe they will become the Observers, or the prototypes for the Observers.
ReplyDeleteI believe in light of this, it would be fun to revisit the ZFT manifesto, http://fringepedia.net/wiki/ZFT
ReplyDeletejust glancing over it now, with the knowledge we have now, it's .. eye opening.
"The question for now is what is the Soldier and what is the Recruit?"
"The former (meaning The Soldier) is the culmination of millennia and days both. The time to develop the intellect is beyond imagination, yet the preparation for the exercise of it is measured in comparative nanoseconds. (sounds like the observers!!!!!!)
The latter (aka the Recruit) is the clay from which the other is formed, a potential without release until the training and revealing has been enacted. But even that will not happen without the preparation of science. This is the conundrum of our knowledge. This is part of the mystery of what we are about to do."
Yep. Specially when it comes to Fringe. I was like 'we had the beginning of all things in an episode called the end of all things' so who knows? Can't wait to see what it means.
ReplyDeleteAlso an other episode where they are working together. There sould have been much more during the season. Hopefully in the next one we get more.
Ya, that's exactly what I am wondering! I mean even William Bell originally talked Walter into doing this, because he thought "soldiers" were needed to protect the universe...but ZFT was on the verge of using them for something in season 1...and we never really knew what....
ReplyDeleteBut I really think that Star Trek Reference in "The Road Not Taken" is signifigant, and I just can't imagine this awareness to the Observers in 4x19 doesn't also relate to that...as Emmanuel Grayson explains the cortexifaners were meant to be soldiers to protect us from denizens from another universe....
"The Romulans. Renegade Romulans from the future. Here to change the timeline.
In the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Theory Thread, I made point that Nero and Romulian ship interior scenes in Abram's Star Trek were mostly Green and Amber/Yellow....http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=22392
Nina will come back! (I just felt like a nice little tribute to Desmond and Fail Safe were in order for 4x19) XD
ReplyDeletePS: for all you know, I could have been Meana the whole time (;
Thank you. I had never seen that before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think going back to LOST and with "The Candidate" and "The Recruit" that the cortexifaners may find themselves against each other?
In LOST even though we can argue that candidates and recrutes are the same thing, it was presented in different episodes where "candidate" referred to Island protecter and Jacob (Light) and "recruit" referred to MIB attempting to make an army and/or finding a specific person to "become" (aka - could relate to someone becoming a shape shifter....the newest comic takes place in yet another alternate future in out space....there are clones of Olivia and clones of Jones...the more important aspect is that the machines can produce "strange" matter that eats matter (exotic matter or black matter -which argued that the smoke monster might have been black body radiation, but it can fuel transportation devices, including a space ship, but the Jone's cause a mutiny, destroy the the fule tank while on a new planet and the all of the characters are left to die as the strange matter starts to eat the whole planet...)
The only other thing I could think of was if the shapeshifters kill the cotexifaners and they pick up their abilities as a by product....It would bring them a step closer to the Observers, as I believe many fringe cases, especially the shapeshifters are apart of the Observers' own evolution.
ReplyDeleteI think you're probably right!

interesting plot for the episode before the finale... hope it will connect well.
ReplyDeleteUnless the Cortexiphan kids are on Jones' side this time around. And of course I could tell it was you. Who do you think I am, Peter Bishop?
ReplyDeleteI agree i think Bell originally had the idea of the soldier's to protect our world from the other side and somewhere along the line Jones takes this idea to apply this to his plan for the new world. So its up to how many cortexiphan subjects will be on his side and how many of them will side up with our side. Both worlds unite to fight Jones and his plan to merge the two worlds .
ReplyDeleteXD
ReplyDeleteOkay,we know the Cortexifan kids are being used in some way, which obviously includes Olivia. Is it possible this is where/why September told Olivia she was to die? Just throwing it out there Darth, what do you think about this scenario?
ReplyDeleteHa! I love how I wrote a sentence, while you pretty much wrote an essay. Great work!
ReplyDeleteYa, I think that's most def another possibility... I mean the idea Mr X hasn't fully reared it's head yet...we have had these really close brushes, and I am not sure if we're out of the woods yet. Perhaps Red Lee's death took that "place"....but the plot with Jones is now starting to thicken, so I think her possible death is something to think about. It wouldn't surprise me if Jones, Meana, or a shapeshifter (like this one that just crossed over in "Everything In It's Right Place"!!!) may come very close, if not killing Olivia....
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely see Nick Lane. I saw a picture that was taken during filing. Peter, Lincoln & a bunch of police have him at gunpoint. Should be interesting...
ReplyDeleteCortexiphan Vs Shapeshifters
ReplyDeleteIt can go either way and maybe this is the Storm Belly was referring too in the Blue World Vs1.0
Recruits = Cortexiphan kids and maybe that's why this Olivia was getting the abilities of the "Blue-Version" ... She was the strongest. Nick Lane might be there too and also the rest we met in Season 01... end of Season 2....
The War has started.... Would Olivia get killed here by Mr. X ????
------Now I need one of those "Dark Voices" -------
And
Where is Sam Weiss????
♥
I keep wondering about Sam Weiss too..."The Consultant" makes me think of him! It would be great if made an appearance...and it would be great-eerie if we can't trust him anymore!
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to seeing another version of Nick Lane!!...He was so important to Olivia (last time around), it will be interesting to see how he re configures in, if he still is in fact a Cortexifan subject in this iteration?!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered if he really died though...part me thought that he took Sally Clarke's burnt body and traveled elsewhere....
I also wonder about seeing the others...James Heath (his sister Julie?), Loyd Becker, Miranda Green, Alan DeRosa, Timothy Ober, Simon Philips, Nancy Lewis, Susan Pratt, and the newly found Cameron James?! --And any more newbies they want to introduce!
its nice to see all the season 1 and season 2 elements come into play.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting (praying) for Olivia to pull a Darth Vader and choke someone out with her mind.
ReplyDeleteShe does that a lot.
