Carter and Andy are jailed for trying to steal a piece of equipment to complete a device that Kevin has assembled to search for the Astraeus crew. Meanwhile, Holly comes up with a dangerous theory.

    If in ep 1 Astraeus crew returns, why are they looking for them in ep 2? Confused.

     Possibly because there are two timelines. The one where the Astraeus crew returns to Eureka 4 years later, and the current one where they are still looking for the Astraeus crew.

    Like simultaneously? It would be better than to totally negate episode 1. They have so many stories to tie up and no time. Splitting timelines now (again?) would make it even harder.

    Having separate timelines is the only theory I can think for explaining these episode descriptions. The astreus crew is travels five years into the future, and encounters the future version of eureka. In the other timeline, everyone is trying to figure out where the Astreus crew has travelled to. Having two different versions of Eureka would explain the differences in characters personalities. In one timeline, Andy is oppressive and in charge. The other, Carter and Andy are working together.

    I don't think it has really been 4 years. Bev has them hooked 2 a machine and they think it is 4 years in the future. At least that is what I think happened...
