Downton Abbey - [SPOILER] asks to be written out

According to a report by the U.K.'s Daily Mail newspaper, Maggie Smith has asked to be written out of "Downton Abbey" after Season 3.

Smith plays the extremely popular, acid-tongued Lady Violet, the Dowager Countess of Downton. The show is currently filming its third season and according to the Daily Mail's source, Smith has agreed to do the Season 3 Christmas special, but has asked that Season 3 be her last season.

    I've read in a few interviews recently that she is a pain in the ass on the set. The creative team did say that she delivers when they are filming every time though of course.

    This is actually old news, it was reported a while back that Smith wanted out. Chances are its probably true.

    Frankly I consider being difficult to work with for an artist as par for the course. I was just stating the opinion of the producer's or writer's (I forget whose comments they were).
