Moff likes to say that it's not happening, but he doesn't have any control over it I'm afraid, lol. I'm really looking forward to seeing a Who film myself :)
Well of course it will be non canon, it would be impossible to make it run along side the show, that in itself has enough problems with what is and isn't canon XD
Yeah, I'd say non-canon status for this film goes without saying. I'll cross my fingers that, if it does happen, it will be decent, but there's no way it could fit in the same (massively confusing) continuity.
The other 2 (non canon) films did reasonably well and are much loved by older fans. Plus the person behind bringing this to the screen, Julie Tranter, is the one who brought it to the small screen in 2005. She knows exactly what she is doing, and I trust her :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
And here I thought Moffat and company crushed this.
ReplyDeleteDon't do it Yates. Doctor Who is a fifty year old cannon, I don't want to see any "hollywood reboot" bullshit.

ReplyDeleteRTD had the film rights, and was under the impression that they hadn't expired, and backed Moffat's play at blocking this travesty.
ReplyDeleteIf it does happen, it's non-cannon and I'll just have to pretend like it doesn't exist. Just like I'm going to do with that Buffy crap.

ReplyDeleteFive years. The show might not even be on anymore by than. It could be good, who knows.
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing what comes of this, I really don't get why fans are upset by the news, it's baffling :s
