All New Futuristic Drama Anchored By Rachel Nichols and Victor Webster
TORONTO, April 16, 2012 – Hot on the heels of a slew of standout original series rolled out by Shaw Media this broadcast year, Showcase is set to premiere another epic series with Continuum. The futuristic police dramastars Rachel Nichols (Criminal Minds, Alias) as Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver. Featuring 10 hour-long episodes, the series premieres on Sunday, May 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
When a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution in the year 2077, they vault back in time to 2012 sweeping dedicated City Protective Services officer, Kiera Cameron, along with them. With unexpected assistance from teen tech genius Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen; Jericho, Scream 4) Kiera concentrates on bringing down the terrorists before they can change the course of history forever. Desperate to get back to her husband and son, Kiera impersonates a local law enforcement officer to expedite her investigation, forming an uneasy alliance with her new partner, detective Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster; Castle, Melrose Place).

Rounding out the cast is Stephen Lobo (Smallville, Little Mosque On The Prairie), Roger Cross (The Gates, Fringe), Lexa Doig (V, Stargate SG-I), Omari Newton (Blue Mountain State, Sophie), Luvia Petersen (The L Word) and Terry Chen (Combat Hospital).
Continuumis created by Executive Producer and Showrunner Simon Barry (The Art of War),while Jeff King (White Collar, The Black Donnellys) is also Executive Producer and Show Runner. Reunion Pictures partner Tom Rowe is Executive Producer. Directors for the series include Emmy® Award-winner and DGA nominee Jon Cassar(24, The Kennedys, Terra Nova) and Patrick Williams (Shattered) who also serves as Executive Producer. The creative team includes the Emmy®-nominated Director of Photography Joel Ransom (Band of Brothers, Camelot, The X Files) and Production Designer Chris August (Battle In Seattle, War).
Filmed on location in Vancouver, Continuum is developed and produced by Reunion Pictures in association with Shaw Media.

ReplyDeleteI'm checking this show out mainly because of the premiere's great timing. This show is launching right when all of the US's broadcast shows are finishing their seasons. Since most summer shows don't start premiering until June, I'll be looking for something to fill the gap and this may do nicely.

ReplyDeleteWhy didn't the credit Victor Webster for Mutant X too? He was just a guest star on Castle, not one to write home about either since we barely saw him in it, look forward to this though!
