Neal is getting a new paradise girlfriend in the form of Alias actress Mia Maestro. Details are sketchy but it sounds like she will be in the first 2 episodes at least.

Check out more details here.

  1. She's beautiful and I am happy that Neal is having fun in the tropics, but I prefer Neal working with Peter in NYC.  Can't wait to see how the writers make that happen.
I'm not a fan of any romance on this show that isn't the Burkes, since it tends to detract from the action and con play.

  2. I loved her in Alias, and she is a good actress i just hope its not long term.I wonder how long Neal and Peter will be apart? If anything i would have thought once Neal was located Peter would go get him and the two would work together to solve this problem......

  3. I liked her in Alias, but I really hope Neal isn't going to be on the run for too long. I want him back in NY with Peter, catching bad-guys white collar style!

  4. From what I'm hearing spoiler-wise, Neal should be on the island for 2 episodes.  Not sure if that means he will be back with Peter solving cases in the third or if he will be in jail in the third.

  5.  Oh i hope not jail..unless Neal does wound up in jail and Peter, the crew and Mozzie work together to find dirt on Kramer and get Neal out of prison? Honestly i couldn't buy a clue right now..but it sure is fun speculating! Only two episodes i guess it will be a short lived romance or a long distance one....Thanks for the info!

  6. I think the real problem is that Kramer isn't a dirty cop.  In all fairness, the law would think that he was in his right mind about Neal whereas they would not think that about Peter.  I don't think they can sully Kramer's character but I don't know how Neal stays out of prison either.  Of course, I didn't know how they were going to resolve the "Neal has the treasure" issue either and Keller magically made that all go away.  Maybe I'm wrong about Kramer but I would hate to see canon on his character change because the writers got themselves stuck in a corner.

  7. I wouldn't worry about character change. White collar writers have proved that they are talented. They know their characters and love the bromance.
I'm confident it's going to be brilliant. Meanwhile, it's quite fun to speculate:-)

  8. Kramer isn't a dirty cop but he played dirty.
Neal is a talented conman, I think that he will do a good con to discredit Kramer.
Peter will agree because Kramer has betrayed his trust.

  9. The  impressive number of cases white collar unit has solved since Neal is part of the team could work in his favor.

They need to find an ally who outrank Kramer. Peter boss would certainly love to keep Neal in his division.

If they don't find dirt on Kramer, they will create it. They are conmen and Kramer was the first to play dirty.

  10. I wonder if his time in the tropics and his newfound love will divert him from his goal to quit the conman life and stay in NY with his "new family ".

Temptations are hard to resist for Neal.

  11. She's pretty! But Neal belongs with Sara. He can have this fling and then go back to her.

    ReplyDelete
  12.  they are not his family, but friends.
I hope he never quits conman life, I like this way.
    And yay for Mia!

  13. Pretty girl, that Neal boy has good taste lol

  14. That is the word Neal used  at his testimony in the finale :
"I have a good job, a wonderful home. A partner and a best friend. A family."

I like Neal has he is now: Dreaming of a normal life but still tempted and still haunted by his past.

I don't care much about Sara or Mia. If their presence help to tell good stories I'm ok with it.
What interest me is Neal tortuous journey from misbehaving conman to honest FBI consultant and Peter/Neal friendship and its consequences on each of them

  15.  I liked Mia Maestro on Alias.  It's cool that she'll get in on some of the fun in season for, if only for a few episodes.

  16. I tend to like Neal a bit more wild con myself, but I do admit I miss the bromance of season 2.  I am happy about Peter being more grey area at the end of this season.

  17. I don't see Peter ever willingly muddying up his mentor's reputation and possibly costing him his job.  I also don't see him standing by Neal and Mozzie if they do it.  If he did that then he would not be the Peter I respect anymore.  I do agree that their best bet lies with someone higher up believing in the Peter-Neal partnership.

  18. I don't know. I think Kramer might have pissed off Peter enough for him to get vengeful.

  19. Kramer has been shown to be willing to use his power and position based on an internal moral compass, and he seems to have a problem with his protege making a name for himself, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for the writers to either show him going too far legally speaking or unearth some additional reason he wanted Neal to himself in DC that was outside of the law.

  20. I love it when they make Neal cool, especially when he doesn't rely almost completely on Mozzie to do it. But when Peter is being all straight arrow judgmental, it really grates.

    ReplyDelete
  21.  Yes, he did- in my opinion it was as over the top as all of his speeches about Peter's greatness.
Honestly, I hate that since season 2 there is a pressure on Neal to become a ''better man" I like him just fine as a criminal. He is too reformed for me already, too neutered and even boring at times. I don't like when he is yearning for the life Peter has and is shown as Peter wannabe.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This! the writers are afraid to make Neal do anything bad so it all falls on Mozzie, I want to see Neal to pull a con for his own benefit(not to help the case or someone else), or just for fun! I would like to see that he still has it in.
I am not a great fan of Peter, I liked him in season 1, but season2 and 3 Peter- I could do without. This is why I prefer Neal with Mozzie, their friendship feels more natural and is better balanced.

  23. See for me this would be a cop-out plain and simple.  To find out that Kramer had some illegal motivation that allows Neal to get out of this mess would be bad writing.  It smacks too much of the Keller confession that also easily resolved a very complicated issue.  I know that USA is all about blue skies but there needs to be some actual tension in the way they resolve sticky situations.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If Peter didn't kill Keller for kidnapping his wife, I don't think he's going to falsify information to do his mentor in.  Peter needs to remain at least partway on the law's side for this show to work.

  25. I'm fine with Peter being on the straight and narrow.  I think his character needs to stay at least mostly on the black and white for the dynamic to work.  However, when Peter gets on his high horse and starts preaching at Neal constantly and when he's pushing Sara on Neal because he wants Neal to settle down and be like him, that is what grates on my nerves.  There's a reason why Mozzie is by far my favorite character on this show.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I actually prefer Mozzie and Elizabeth but I do share your frustration with how over the top Peter can sometimes be.  Then again, Neal can be overly immature sometimes too so for the most part I think they balance each other out.  It's just that Mozzie and Neal are far more fun.

    ReplyDelete
  27. by balance I meant that in N/P relationship too much is taken from Neal and put in their "friendship". Neal is too adoring and emotionally dependanent on Peter, it doesn't really feel like friendhip anymore. His realtionship with Mozzie is healthier.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's the moral high-horse preaching that does me in. He does have to be the rigid law-abiding one, I know, but most of this season he's been way over the top with the sermonizing and holier-than-thou attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I thought the rationale for Kramer wanting to keep Neal in DC for himself was always pretty thin, so fleshing that out doesn't seem like a cop out to me. As it stands right now, with the information the audience has, there is no way to get Neal out of it. So regardless of if they make Kramer bad or not, some new information has to be added to keep Neal out of jail.

  30. Willie Garson just tweeted that he starts season 4 opener tomorrow.  (4:45 am)  I know I'm excited to see how they resolve things.

  31. I'm hoping that Neal has a friend higher up who thinks he is useful.  Whether that's someone corrupt or someone who just likes the conviction rating he's getting with Peter, either works better for me than retconning Peter's mentor.  In all actuality, I hope Neal's dad, who I am betting is in Witness Protection, had some big strings he could pull for his son.  This would be a great way to get more back story on Neal and introduce a story line completely different from Neal gets himself in trouble and Peter has to decide how far he will go to save him.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That makes sense.  In all honesty, I don't think Neal's relationship is healthy with Mozzie either given the way Mozzie kept pushing Neal to sell the treasure last season.  However, I do agree that there is more "balance" in the meaning you give it.  Neal is more of an equal with Mozzie than he will ever be with Peter.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You are right, but I was so  happy to see any kind of criminal activity form Neal and Mozzie that I turned the blind eye on certain aspects. In all honesty though, I think Mozzie had reasons to push to sell the treasure, the secret was to big and it was bound to be discovered sooner or later, as happened with Keller.

    ReplyDelete
  34.  I like that scenario. And it would be a great way to introduce his father. I am a little afraid of his family history coming up because we may get a lot of soap.
I hope that Neal's father will be introduced in a fashion similar to Your idea and not as a result of Neal searching for his roots.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't think Peter should save Neal (except in a "he got Neal into it" kinda payback). But introducing another character to "save" Neal, seems like a stretch to me. We shouldn't have to rewrite the White Collar universe to solve this problem.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yep. I wouldn't want Neal to be the FBI poster
    boy either.
But if he was still the same Neal, he would have escaped
Peter custody a long time ago. The show would be totally different.

I do like when Neal is tempted or when his past is catching up to him. In the core, It's his inner struggle that attract me.
If he isn't interested  in a more honest life and just wants to stay a conman, there is no inner struggle.
But what you say make sense to me. If he is too reformed, there is no inner struggle either.

Like I suggested earlier, maybe the actual plot will divert Neal from his white
picket fence dream and reawaken his conman self Who know? You may
    get you wish ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37.  Maybe but I'm not so sure. What Kramer did was pretty unfair.

As you said in another post, Peter is more "grey area" now.
He already chose Neal over the law: He let Neal run. That's a big deal for Peter
Their friendship changed the two of them.

I'm saying what I sense about Peter, not what I want.
I wouldn't like Peter to become too grey. As a matter of fact, I like the "by the book" Peter.
It's who he is, and IMO, he has to stay that way to give Neal the guidance our ex-conman need.

They will need help somehow, and not only for Neal. I fear that Peter will be punished for Neal escape. He could loose the head of the white collar unit or something like that.

  38. Jeff Eastin the show's creator has confirmed that Peter faces severe consequences for his part in the season 3 finale.  I still think hat if he helps Neal take down Kramer he will either be portrayed as wildly out of character or the writers are being lazy.

    ReplyDelete
  39.   O Dear! I really fear for Peter now.
White collar writers haven't been lazy so far. In fact, they are doing a pretty good job in keeping us on the edge :-)
About Peter possible involvement, Con tricking Kramer seems a little too obvious anyway.
The story will probably take a more unpredictable path.

  40. She is up to par to Neal! Great choice! Neal is craving for a family...it breaks my heart! He will have it. He deserves it!
