GARTH IS BACK TO HELP THE WINCHESTERS — Dean (Jensen Ackles) is surprised when he gets a call from Garth (guest star DJ Qualls) asking for the brothers’ help on a case. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean discover they are battling a Shojo, a Japanese creature sent to seek revenge on enemies. The worst part about fighting a Shojo? You can only see it when you’re drunk. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Adam Glass (#718).

Interesting, but where is the final arc for close the end of this season?
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean we have 3 episodes instead of 2 in March?
ReplyDeleteOMG Garth is back and at least one of them is gonna have to be drunk? Already excited!
ReplyDeleteHope that Shojo is a Leviathan in disguise. Dean doesn't get drunk because he's got such a high alcohol tolerance, so does that mean our hopes are on Sam?
ReplyDeleteHa.. this should be interesting.. though it's certainly not going to help Dean's alcohol problems! Hopefully Sammy will get plastered - I really enjoyed his "You're bossy... and short" comment from Playthings :)
ReplyDeleteSeems like Sam is back together again and Castiel is absent (I think). This is interesting...
ReplyDeleteOn and the drunk stuff will be hilarious of course, but then again I'm kind of tired of funny Supernatural episodes. I don't think you can top Sam being beaten up by clowns...or you cant get any lower when it comes to getting a laugh (seriously, that whole episode was structured around Sam getting his butt kicked by clowns. It was funny, but also...kinda sad the show has come to this).
"Garth is back to help the Winchesters" Yeah, in the next sentence he's asking for their help. Confusing. I
ReplyDeletelove seeing the boys high or drunk. They're funny. I hope Sam's not mixing alcohol with his meds though - he's got enough to deal with.
There are 23 eps this season. So the final ep arc will probably be eps 20, 21 and 22.
ReplyDeleteSam's back on track! Hope he's ok.
ReplyDeleteAnd Garth! He's so cute and funny. Glad to see him again;) Him&Dean together - lol!
How do you fight something when you are drunk? lol Dean certainly doesn't need to get back into drinking.
ReplyDeleteI believe so.
ReplyDeleteI loved Garth and Dean but I prefer Sam and Dean.
ReplyDeleteFour words: Not another comic relief!
ReplyDeleteI want leviathans, and drama!
LOL at the fact they have to get drunk to fight it!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh ADAM GLASS.lol
ReplyDeleteLet me hid under the covers.
I remember Dean's line in season 1 about Drunk!Sam "Sam ? Two beers and he's doing karaoke !".... and now I can only hope he does !!! XD
ReplyDeleteI agree! They did this in season 6 too, waiting for the last 3 episodes to really deal with the main story. And they did it this year too. I miss the old years when the main story was present even in fillers.
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting hijinks when they can only see the Shojo when they're drunk! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteSounds good the last episode with D J Qualls was funny this one sounds funny just bye the title.
ReplyDeleteThis seems a bit ridiculous. I'm thinking the characters aren't the only ones that should be drunk to see this.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing - I figured after our venture into the sparkly world of unicorns and clowns, we'd be on a path that led only to Leviathans. If they had kept up with the arc all season, I wouldn't mind an episode like this. But it feels like it's been forever since we've dealt with what's supposed to be the overarching arc of the season!
ReplyDeleteIt probably wont be one of the boys doing the boozing, the title suggests it will be Garth and the boys will have to follow his instructions while he is under the influence to fight the MOTW.
ReplyDeleteI dont really know much about DJ as an actor but he seems like he can pull of this kind off thing, should be fun to watch Sam and Dean dealing with him.
Oh and we did know Sam would be up and hunting in this episode thanks to set pics so no surprises there. I hope we actually get some Sam/Garth interaction and not just all Dean and the guest star of the week. Sam is a person too and an important character so he should be allowed to interact with others outside of his brother too.
I hope there is some Leviathan stuff but it seems that 16, 17 and 18 are going to be absent of mythology where the leviathans are concerned unless Cas shares something with us on that front. I have a feeling they're going to leave the Leviathan arc for the last 2/3 episodes which is just a shame since there has been virtually no build up and no sense of threat from them for far too many episodes now. It does kind of suggest the writers have been drawing out the arc to fit 2 seasons with a season 8 in mind instead of 1.
Ohh...I like this synopsis. Sounds like a funny episode. And Sam is vertical so that's good.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Garth is back - although the episode sounds a little weird.
ReplyDeleteLove the drunk idea, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Garth again. So it really sounds like a good one !
ReplyDeleteKay... this will either be fun or a complete disaster....
ReplyDeleteis this going to be filler?
ReplyDeleteBwah! Even the premise of this one sounds like a laugh. That means it will leave us on the edge of tears. I don't trust these promos at all. :-P
ReplyDeleteYou think Garth will be less annoying or more annoying if he's toasted?
I'm going with this episode as a dramedy meaning we get the first half with laughter and then it suddenly turns into a mytharc drama, hopefully along the lines of Changing Channels. That being wished, I do agree that we need a much stronger focus on the Leviathans in the remaining episodes.
ReplyDeleteShould make a drinking game interesting. Or perhaps it will make the post-airing rewatch drinking game lethal.
ReplyDeleteGarth is so cute...... anxious :D
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, people saw Enma-Ai just fine while sober on the Jijoku Shoujo anime. And is that where they're getting their inspiration for this idea, Jigoku Shoujo? Because the Shojo they've referenced here sounds nothing like the Japanese spirit I'm familiar with. Then again, neither did the kitsune on the show earlier this year.
ReplyDeleteSounds funny.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I getting the sinking feeling that Sam's promised story arc the second half of the season is only going to be, like, three eps long? All this buildup about his hell memories and hallucinations, constantly being told "just wait, we'll get to him!" and then apparently he's just up and hunting again within a few eps? Not that I'm surprised if it turns out to be that way - Sam's POV always gets neglected - but its getting old. Hopefully there's more going on with him than is revealed in these press releases.
ReplyDeleteif Jackie Chan could do it they can
