The ODI, CJ and Adam debate on what 3 shows should be saved if all shows were cancelled. We talk about the latest episodes of Awake,Walking Dead and recap some of the latest TV and Movie News.

The ODI, CJ, Adam and Heather are all back with their views on the latest TV and Movies. We talk about the latest episode of Awake (1x03) and the penultimate episode of The Walking Dead (2x12). We round up the podcast with the latest Movie news and trailers for Prometheus, Dark Shadows and Bond Skyfall. We also add a new Weekly topic section to the podcast with the topic being:

Weekly Topic: If all shows were cancelled which 3 would you save?
Imagine that in May all TV shows that have aired since August 2011 were all cancelled and you were told you could only save 3 shows to return in September. What 3 shows would you choose? The ODI, CJ and Adam debate (or argue) what shows they think deserve a 2nd chance. Some of the shows we argue over include: Awake, Chuck, Dexter, Doctor Who, Falling Skies, Fringe, Game of Thrones, House, Person of Interest, Sherlock, Supernatural, The Walking Dead and White Collar.

We would love to hear your opinions on what 3 shows you would save and in the comments below or via Email or Twitter. So let us know and we may discuss some of your choices next week.

  1. Definitely worth a listen guys, if even just for the debate. Was so funny, even if i was picked on and out voted

  2. Without a doubt if I had to pick, I'd go Community, Fringe, and Game of Thrones.  The Walking Dead would've been 4th, but I consider the other 3 as the best as the best on TV right now.

    ReplyDelete
  3. i've never seen community but always hear amazing things about it. Maybe I will have to watch it during the summer hiatus. But great choices :)

    ReplyDelete
  4. I'd save Hawaii 5-0, Person of Interest, and Awake, if only because they're the only three shows I watch :P

    ReplyDelete
  5. I wish my tv list was that short haha. Ive never watched H5O but i love Person of Interest and Awake. My two top shows of this season without a doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  6. If cable was included, my wonderful three would be:
Breaking Bad, Archer and Game of Thrones, even though the first one probably already count as canceled since Season 5 would be its last. In that case, I'd probably go with Justified.

  7. SAMURAI_ex_ninja19 March 2012 at 23:32

Definitely Fringe, then HIMYM, and to be honest, I don't watch any other shows so for the sake of a guilty pleasure, The Simpsons...

    ReplyDelete
  8. You nailed it. Fringe, Community and Game of Thrones.
    .
    .
    .
I'd also add in Parks and Rec and The Walking Dead. But the game says 3, not 5 :(

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'd save Fringe (my drama) and Happy Endings (my comedy) without a doubt. My last choice would be difficult.

    ReplyDelete
  10.  Without a doubt,FRINGE,FRINGE,FRINGE :))

    ReplyDelete
  11. I liked CBS renewals! About Unforgettable, I watch Bones and Castle, I think Unforgettable would like to be like them, but actually it's not a good show.

I watched a lot of episodes, but I couldn't get so excited with the show. The main couple is boring, the weekly cases aren't so good and the support actors didn't get my attention, I hope CBS, cancel it!

I loved CJ's idea! I also mentioned it to my family and here is their answers and mine.

My sister's choices: Criminal Minds, The Voice and Once Upon a Time

My mom's choices: Criminal Minds, The Voice and Bones

My choices: Thinking that the shows cancelled would have at least a good finale, I would save Grey's Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries and Rookie Blue.

Btw it was so funny to choose and to listen your choices, I laugh a lot!

I have a question for you guys, you always comment about Person of Interest, Fringe, The Walking Dead, Awake, but I would like to know what other shows do you watch? You always comment about the lack of time cause the amount of the series that you watch, so now I'm curious!

  12. Wow. Only 3. That's tough. Fringe, for sure. And Community. And probably The Vampire Diaries because it's so damn fun and exciting. Of course that means no more Justfied or Breaking Bad or Mad Men or Parks and Rec and Happy Endings and and and....

    ReplyDelete
  13. :) Supernatural!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yes I am disappoint with you son, for not picking Supernatural. :P
Nah I kid, I'm sad about this season too. -whimpers in corner over Cas and Bobby and Impala-

    ReplyDelete
  15. Picking 3 is so tough!! Fringe is definitely top - then I'd have to go for Supernatural and Justified. (I'd really miss Bones, Cougar Town and Hawaii 5-0 though!!)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Charlene Buchanan20 March 2012 at 02:37

Ringer , 90210 , supernatural(only if the story stays like this ,and dosent dry up ) if it did tvd

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fringe, Justified and Person of Interest.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Supernatural, White Collar, and Leverage for me.  Then I would bribe another exec to choose Community, Fringe, and Burn Notice.  Then I would kidnap the person who had the power to cancel all shows and demand not only that Castle return but that he/she created a TV time loop to bring back some shows that were canceled too soon.  After all, if Arrested Development can get renewed years later why can't Farscape and Veronica Mars be resurrected too?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Justified, Fringe, Game of
    Thrones, Sherlock, Supernatural, The Walking
    Dead, White Collar ...

Choice impossible- does not compute- Choice impossible- does not compute- Choice impossible- does not compute- Choice impossible- does not compute- Choice impossible- does not compute-Choice imp.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Person of Interest, Supernatural and Game of Thrones are three shows I would save

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hell yeah to resurrecting Veronica Mars (to bad KB is on House of Lies)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Fringe, Supernatural and Game of Thrones

    ReplyDelete
  23. I also watch Californication, New Girl, Homeland, House, The Big Bang Theory and The Office... mainly my comedy fix...

Mix in those shows with things like work and more social activities and I'm outta time! :P

Any recommendations what else we should be watching?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think CJ also didn't pick SPN as he has said before that he wished the show ended at season 5 when it was supposed to.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Dexter (if they come back with a decent story this time)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tough choice ! The three shows I'd be most gutted if they cancelled would be... Grey's Anatomy, Cougar Town and perhaps I'd bring back Chuck.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Interesting pick of Awake CJ. Personally I've lost some interest now that it's all revealed to be some conspiracy; the exciting psychological nature of it has lost its effect. And the whole procedural crime-solving element of it is already tiresome for me.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Fringe and Person of Interest. That's the only two I'm really interested in right now.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I i said Fringe for all three would it get 3 more seasons?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory and Person of Interest, but the thought of only having 3 shows makes my gut hurt. What would I do without Vampire Diaries, both NCIS, Community, Castle and so many more.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ooo, Parks and Rec would definitely be up there for shows to keep around.  Psych would be up there too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Definitely at least try it out, I was a bit skeptical at first but now I love it and it has made many other comedies seem inferior to it.  Still love other comedies though.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ah, that would be impossible for me! All the shows I watch I want to return. Especially the young ones like Once Upon A Time, Person Of Interest, and Awake.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Pour_A_Little_Salt20 March 2012 at 15:57

Fringe (naturally), Sherlock and Once Upon A Time..
(But let us keep the emphasis on Fringe ;) )

    ReplyDelete
  35. Merlin, Who and Sherlock ofc :D

    ReplyDelete
  36.  Interesting question! mine would be Awake,Alcatraz-just to see where they could possibly take us.and
the Firm if they tweaked it......

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fringe, Person of Interest, and The Walking Dead.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Fringe, White collar, Suits, Person of Interest, Criminal Minds, Burn Notice.... For me it's difficult to pick only 3 shows, because i have more than 3 that i enjoy to watch!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would save Supernatural, Hawaii Five-0 and Psych. But, I am hoping and praying that this does not happen anytime too soon. I know that H5-0 has been renewed (yay!) and am hoping to hear about Supernatural real soon.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would save Fringe, Revenge & Parks and Recreation.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Supernatural, Justified and The Big Bang Theory. I like to diversify. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow. Only 3! That's impossible for me!
GoT, Justified, Fringe, Community, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Cougar Town, Bones, Castle, Awake, Once Upon A Time, The Mentalist, The Vampire Diaries, ..., 13 would be great for me! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43.  "all TV shows that have aired since August 2011"!
I don't know for you, but for me choosing only 3 shows is impossible!

    ReplyDelete
  44.  Ee Gads this is difficult Jini, there are just too many.....

    ReplyDelete
  45. HA!!!!!  Jini you are too funny!!!   :D

    ReplyDelete
  46. After long consideration the 3 i would save are FRINGE, Castle, Game of Thrones!

Fringe i would fight/defend/save with my last breath......
Game Of Thrones-i just found this wonderful story i couldn't give it up!
Castle-I need to see Beckett and Castle get together.

And if i could i would like a comedy to breakup the intensity of the first 2 shows and that would be
Raising Hope-I need Maw Maw in my life!

    ReplyDelete
  47.  HA! Just as you are, Laura! :-p
Well my wise sister screen I'm waiting for your list of 3!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Jini look above your list of 13,lol...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Adam, thanks for answer me, first you look so diferent from your voice, I thought you were older, you look young in your picture, that's funny.

About the shows I also watch New Girl and The big bang theory from your list, maybe you could comment a little about them in the next podcast! =)

Some of the shows that I watch are on hiatus right now, but here is my watchlist.

Acussed, Bones, Breakout Kings, Castle, Community, Covert Affairs, Dexter, Fairly Legal, Game of Thrones, Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Hart of Dixie, Hawaii Five-0, How I met your Mother, Jane by Design, Make it or Break it, New Girl, Nikita, Once Upon a Time, Parenthood, Pretty Little Liars, Psych, Revenge, Ringer, Rookie Blue, Smash, Switched at Birth, Teen Wolf, The Big Bang Theory, The Lying Game, The Vampire Diaries, White Collar, Whitney, Unforgettable, Up All Night,

I also love to watch reality shows, here is my watchlist ...

American Idol, Big Brother US, Mobbed, So you think you can Dance, The Glee Project, The Sing Off, The Voice, The X-Factor Us, The X-Factor Australia,

Yeah I know I need to get a life, lol! Well I think there is a lot of women and teen's shows in my watchlist that I'm pretty sure you and the guys wouldn't like, but some of them are pretty good, like Vampire Diaries! There is not a lot of misteries like in Person of Interest, Awake and Fringe, but it's a pretty good show with a lot of cliffhangers. Maybe you should try any of them or just comment a little about =)

Sorry for the big comment, but I'm a girl, I like to talk ... lol

    ReplyDelete
  50. Dexter, Breaking Bad ....those for sure.

Hmm the 3rd maybe White Collar, The Mentalist or Supernatural.......I'm going with White Collar as my 3rd choice I think. (even though I really want to see the end of the Red John arc if it ever comes)

    ReplyDelete
  51. fringe, dexter, how i met your mother

    ReplyDelete
  52. Great choices my friend! :-D
I've never seen Raising Hope, so I put it on my list!As for you Laura, you should try Community once, if you do not know yet. This is my favorite comedy on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Walking dead, supernatural and dexter. The others are pretty crusty.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Totallyaddicted00522 March 2012 at 12:28

    Fringe, Fringe, and Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  55. oh that accent !!! my my!! (-:

    ReplyDelete
  56. CJ's accent has proven very popular it's true :P

    ReplyDelete
  57. Agreed with you on Fringe and Game of Thrones... Never seen Castle though so it didn't really make our podcast debate. You'll have to ask CJ on it's worthiness!

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's shows that have been on this TV season really... although if you really want you can talk about already finished shows!

    ReplyDelete
  59. We all kind of agreed on Awake as the third one in the end... we're all really intrigued by its premise, and the scripts/characters are incredibly well written!

    ReplyDelete
  60. You'd still pick SPN even though it's got to be close to the end of its run now?! How've you been finding this season. CJ hasn't been impressed!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yeah. I have quite a deep voice :P

I'll make sure to mention New Girl and Big Bang Theory next time around. Definitely New Girl as it's in the middle of a two parter atm. I think BBT is off for a few weeks, but I'll remember for the future!

Lots of shows you watch. I struggle to get in just the ones I watch! :P

    ReplyDelete
  62. never really stood a chance mate :P

    ReplyDelete
  63.  I'm definitely with you on Farscape! Fringe too!

    ReplyDelete
  64.  Honestly i would never expect Castle to make it.I just need a show where i wouldn't be taxing my brain cells!

    ReplyDelete
  65. We went for Awake... I like Person of Interest a lot too, and House is an old favourite as well!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Game of Thrones, Fringe and Justified!

Luckely I´m not worried about GoT and Justified, they will do fine in the ratings. Fringe on the other hand.....I can´t stand the thought, that this season will be the end.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hehe, it's just coincidence that they are all BBC 1 shows, they genuinely are the 3 I don't think I could do without

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thank you all for commenting my mobile phone has been going none stop (i get email alerts) and I've been reading them all ready to comment on the next podcast with some :)

Next weeks debate is going to be just as tough and interesting. Here is a one word clue: GONE

    ReplyDelete
  69. Sadly enough, I can only think of 2 shows  without a doubt I would save: Castle and Vampire Diaries. Maybe to make up 3 I would pick Dexter (ignoring the bad season it just had).

    ReplyDelete
  70. White Collar, Grimm and Sherlock are my three top shows at the moment. There are some others I watch, but with all of them, I wouldn't particular care if they ended now - they had a decent run, it's nice to get a new season, but I could life with them ending just fine. But Sherlock is just rare high-quality TV and I would wait years for each season with no problem at all, Grimm has so much potential, I just need to know if it will live up to it and White Collar has Matt Bomer.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Fringe, Community and Supernatural. Supernatural i always love no matter what, i really hope it get renewed for at least a final 8th season. Nothing sucks more than a tv series with a forced ending and super open plotlines.. The same for Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I see! I didn't listen to the end because someone started discussing a show I hadn't seen yet so I had to switch off to not be spoiled hehe. =]

    ReplyDelete
  73. Psych, Rookie Blue, and Dexter...

    ReplyDelete
  74. I don't agree with what you guys said in the podcast.  For me, there has not been much "new" that sparks my interest so I would rather see if next year's pilots are more entertaining.  I am tired of the corrupt police officer story in Person of Interest so I am taking a break from that show right now.  I dropped Secret Circle, Once Upon a Time, Ringer, etc. well before this point.  In fact, I don't think I am consistently watching any show that premiered this year.  (I don't have premiere cable so I didn't see Homeland and I haven't watched the pilot for Awake yet although I have it on iTunes.  Perhaps these will break my new show curse this year.)  I would far rather watch the shows I have been watching for at least 2 years than give any of the freshman a pass simply because they are freshman.

As for Supernatural, I think this season is the best it has been since mid-season four.  If I recall, CJ really loved season 5 and for me that was by far the worst season.  It's likely that different things appeal to us about SPN.  Although it is more emoangsty right now than I prefer, taking things episode by episode, they have been really strong.  There are only 2-3 episodes I didn't like so far.  Pretty good for a 7th season.  The Leviathans need to be stronger villains but I am a fan of the monster of the week stories and I think they have done an exceptional job with those this season.  Plus, things have been a whole lot more fluid this year than last.  All in all, Supernatural season 7 has been a step in the right direction for me.

I'm not sure that Supernatural is at the end of its run either.  It's getting a season 8 and unlike many I don't think they are going to announce it as the last season, especially since Gossip Girl will probably go that way.  If they don't announce it, I could see Supernatural going to 10 seasons a la Smallville.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Homeland and Awake are great! Interesting you're not enjoying PofI as in general the consensus is it's getting better. Did you check out the latest few episodes yet?

With Supernatural, as is always the case, I think fans have vastly differing opinions on the show right down to their basic core reason for watching. It's interesting to see which seasons fans like as a result!

I could probably see Supernatural reaching 10 seasons, as it's one of The CW's biggest shows in general. I think they'd be scared to lose the fan base SPN has in general :P

    ReplyDelete
  76. Fringe, Criminal minds and (Happy ending or Comunity - would flip a coin for the last place)

    ReplyDelete
  77. Community and Supernatural!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Doctor Who, TVD and Justified.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The last episode of Person of Interest I saw was Wolf and Cub.  I know people have been raving about Baby Blue.  I think my biggest problem with Person of Interest was that I tried to marathon it.  I watched I think 6 episodes back to back and quite honestly the format gets old quickly when you do it that way.  By the time they increased the police corruption part of the last episode I watched, I needed time off.  I think that is the lamest subplot of them all right now.  I would much rather find out what really happened to Finch's partner than rehash police corruption.

  82. way too hard! I cant choose just 3.. but, I have narrowed down 2 choices.. Nikita (It's action, some drama and a show that makes you think), Parks and recreation (I need a comedy to laugh and the show has been really great). A third? I cant decide.. not right now too many choices.

    ReplyDelete
  83.  OK, now that I have gone through the shock of imagining a world with only three tv show; I will try to choose; but it is like asking me to save only three people from my family and friends and let the others go.

    1. Game of thrones
    2. Justified
    3. SPN if it renew itself and broaden his universe. Otherwise, I would choose White collar

The two first were the easy choices. They both are awesome, have a great charismatic cast and great writers. Justified particularly have witty dialogues. I feel that both shows have still a lot of good stories to tell before I could get bored.

Now the third was a very hard choice:

    - I wasn't impressed by ringer, terra nova or grimm so I already "cancelled" them :-)
    - There are shows that I watch and didn't even mention because, even if I like them, cancellation wouldn't be a great deal for me. Shows like NCIS; falling skies; house; castle; merlin. For some obscure reason I enjoy them but those are IMO, not brilliants show.

    - The first season of homeland was great. But I don't see how they will maintain the suspense now that we know that Brody is an al-qaida puppet. I put in the cancellation basket too.
    - Doctor who is an adorable show. I wouldn't mind the cancellation only because it can easily come back a few years later as it was proven by the "new who" success.
    - I still have to watch awake and person of interest. Too little time, too many tv shows.

    -  I love Fringe; the walking dead; the mentalist. But I would accept a cancellation ONLY IF the writers are aware of it soon enough to wrap the story properly.
Altough I really would be upsetif that happen.

    -  Awesome bbc show "sherlock": I dearly love it, but three episodes a year isn't enough. That is the only reason why I drop it, otherwise, it could have been my third choice.

last ones are supernatural and white collar. I love both shows equally.
    - I choose SPN if it renew itself and broaden his universe. By introducing some great new characters, for example. Or bringing Castiel back in the game as we still have a lot to discover about him. I use to love the stories centered on the brothers, but now, I'm a little tired of it. The show seems to repeat itself. I need more action and less feelings.
    - If SPN doesn't go that way; I would choose White collar. Love the actors; love the characters and the action. And it is new enough to have a lot of stories to tell.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I can't pick just 3! That would be so unfair.
But I think it would be: Chuck (always!), White Collar, and Rookie Blue. I think. I'm not sure. Gosh. This is haaaaard!!
I'm watching over 30 series (fall and mid season). How could I pick up only 3 of them? Doesn't seem like something fair. lol

    ReplyDelete
  85. I don't know if reality shows count but Survivor, The Walking Dead, and Dexter!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ah, you Brits. I think the ODI and I need to work on coming up with some sexy accents, too.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Siobhan Carroll30 March 2012 at 15:55

My three would have to be 1) Fringe as I have invested some much time in it already and I want a good ending, 2) Game Of Thrones as the books are unfinished, and I read/watch somewhere that the produces where told by G.R.R. Martin (in a very basic sense) where the end to the series, 3) my least one would have to go to breaking bad, as it just awesome and I want to know how it all ends!

    ReplyDelete
  88. well i would say the walking dead being human and awake.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sherlock, Dexter, Game of Thrones... And I need to add new shows Scandal and Smash

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'd save Hawaii 5-0, Person of Interest, and Awake, if only because they're the only three shows I watch :P

    ReplyDelete
  91. supernatural, house and secret circle
