The ODI and CJ talk Terra Nova Cancellation and other shows in Danger. We continue to watch Awake. We recap the latest awesome episode of Person of Interest. We catch Heather to tell us all about the new Movie "The Hunger Games" and Adam sneaks on at the end for his recap of the week

Sorry for the delay but as some have noticed we were having a few problems with HipCast the company that hosts the podcast. I contacted them and everything is now fixed and back up and working.

Just the ODI and CJ this week (with Heather and Adam popping in at the end). Adam was stuck with a busy week at work raising money for charity (good on ya Adam!). But we still manage to cover all of the latest news and episodes on last weeks TV.

We discuss the end of Terra Nova and what that could mean for fringe. We also have a discussion about shows being canclled and why these things happen. We discuss the new show on NBC Awake (1x02) and how it compares to the first episode. We catch up on the latest episode of Person of Interest (1x17) with CJ talking about how he freaked out during the episode. We round-up the podcast with our thoughts on a few other shows and CJ grabs Heather to talk about the new film "The Hunger Games" after a listeners request, and Adam quickly recorded his recap on Awake, PoI and Walking Dead. (you may also want to listen to after the music credits for a funny blooper - Sorry Heather haha)

  2. Thanks for spotlighting the Hunger Games.  I agree mostly with Heather with the exception that I loathe Twilight, especially the second and fourth books.  I am not a fan at all of love triangles so trust me, the Peeta - Gale  - Katniss thing is not at all a major part of the books.  For the most part it comes done to necessity, duty, and proximity.

I like what Heather said about the story not really being about kids killing kids.  That is far too simplistic and only grazes the most sensational aspects.  The books are about class warfare and how far people can be pushed in a totalitarian state.  The people of Panem are forced to volunteer up their children.  They are forced to watch kids die in brutal ways.  Some districts embrace it as an honor, but the end game is clear to everyone.  It is the annual reminder that the ruling class has everything and they can force everyone else to do exactly as they say.  It's also a condemning look at how the ruling class uses their power, time, and excess.

Will the movie be all that the books are?  Probably not, but if the movie gets at least 50% of how much the books intrigued and moved me then it will likely be the best movie I see all year.  If not, it will be the biggest disappointment of the year.  I'm hoping it's more Lord of the Rings and less Percy Jackson.

  3.  They're pretty aware of what's riding on this film, so I'm hoping it will be at least ALMOST as good as we're hoping.

    Thanks for your comments!
