Smash - Season 2 - Showrunner Steps Down

Cancelled ShowsTheresa Rebeck, the creator of NBC's hit musical drama series Smash will be stepping down as showrunner in the show's second season. Rebeck will still remain as an executive producer but will step away from the day-to-day operations of the series. For more information click here.

It's been mentioned several times before, though, that if the show were to be renewed for a second season, Rebeck would be stepping down as showrunner. So this was quite expected. I think she's still continuing writing/producing for the show, though...?
ReplyDeleteYEs exactly, I don't even understand why they're making this out to be news. She kept saying that all season. It was widely known that she would step down as showrunner because she wants to be able to focus on other stuff too but she'll still be an EP and write, so basically nothing changes. I swear I hate my colleagues when they recycle old news and try to make it look like news.. do they think readers don't remember?
