Fox 2.4/ 4
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Sunday 3/27/11
ABC: +37, NBC: + 4, CBS: – 9, Fox: -17

-Winners:
60 Minutes (CBS), The Amazing Race (CBS)
-Worthy of Renewal:
Harry’s Law (NBC)
-Noticeable Erosion:
Celebrity Apprentice (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
The Cleveland Show (Fox), Bob’s Burgers (Fox)
———-
-Rating Results:
CBS led this fourth Sunday in March, with a 44 percent advantage in the metered markets over second-place ABC. But individual program results for the Eye net are approximate due to part of the ongoing NCAA Basketball Tournament bleeding into primetime. Third overall was NBC, followed by distant Fox.
Fifteen minutes of the final portion of basketball scored a 10.9 rating/20 share in the overnights from 7-7:15 p.m. ET, which led into older-skewing 60 Minutes at an also dominant 8.7/15 from 7:15-8:15 p.m. Next was always reliable (and younger skewing) The Amazing Race at a 6.7/10 from 8:15-9:15 p.m., followed by The Good Wife (#1: 7.2/11) and CSI: Miami (6.6/11) from 9:15-11:15 p.m. Only CSI: Miami is on the fence for renewal of the CBS Sunday night series.
Over at ABC, week four of modest GCB was on par from one week earlier with a third-place 4.8/ 8 at 10 p.m. Comparably, retention out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of lead-in Desperate Housewives (6.4/10) was 75 percent. What this means, no doubt, is that GCB only stands a 50/50 chance of being picked-up for next season. Four-week overnight track for GCB: 6.0/10 – 5.5/ 9 – 4.7/ 8 – 4.8/ 8.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was veteran America’s Funniest Home Videos (#3: 3.8/ 6) at 7 p.m., followed by consistent Once Upon a Time (#2t: 5.9/ 9) and soon-to-conclude Desperate Housewives (#2: 6.4/10) from 9-11 p.m. AFHV and Once Upon a Time will, of course, be renewed for next season.
On NBC, sophomore drama Harry’s Law is an option in the Sunday 8 p.m. hour with a 5.9/10 (#2t) and growth from lead-in Dateline (#2: 4.3/ 8 at 7 p.m.) of 37 percent. Comparably, Harry’s Law built from short-lived year-ago occupant America’s Next Great Restaurant (2.7/ 4 on 3/27/11) by 119 percent in the overnights. While the skew for Harry’s Law is certainly older, the size of the audience itself should warrant a renewal.
Harry’s Law led into two more hours of Celebrity Apprentice, which finished third in the 9-11 p.m. block with a 4.4/ 7. Compared to one year earlier (6.5/10 on 3/27/11), this is a loss of 32 percent.
Celebrity Apprentice (NBC)
9:00 p.m.: 4.0/ 6 (#3)
9:30 p.m.: 4.3/ 6 (#3)
10:00 p.m.: 4.8/ 8 (#3)
10:30 p.m.: 4.6/ 8 (#3)
Fox capped off the evening with a combination of repeats and originals as follows:
Fox/Sunday
7:00 p.m. – The Simpsons (R): 1.6/ 3 (#4)
7:30 p.m. – The Cleveland Show: 1.9/ 3 (#4)
8:00 p.m. – The Simpsons (R): 2.6/ 4 (#4)
8:30 p.m. – Bob’s Burgers: 2.3/ 4 (#4)
9:00 p.m. – Family Guy (R): 3.0/ 5 (#4)
9:30 p.m. – American Dad: 2.9/ 4 (#4)
Why the network would air original episodes of The Cleveland Show, Bob’s Burgers and American Dad out of encore telecasts is a mystery.

Gah, it scared me for a second when OUAT wasn't on the "Winner's" list. DON'T DO THAT TO ME.
ReplyDeleteMe too!! It's always a winner!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we drop a bit. Great numbers anyway, but the DTS, great weather, Hunger Games....affected the show
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't it listed as a ''Winner'' like previous weeks?
ReplyDeleteHope numbers go back up soon - but it's still doing so well :)
ReplyDeletethe show will be renewed FOR SURE.
ReplyDeleteBut it needs to be at 9 PM.
8 PM now in spring is an awful hour, people are not in their home, they are enjoying the sun¡
I think they'll keep it at 8pm because I believe it's very popular with families but with DH gone they could move it to 9pm :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it dropped off from the last episode or something like that, but it'll still be renewed.
ReplyDeleteI really want HL to be renewed to show that older viewers do matter
ReplyDeleteThe part about Harry's Law is ridiculously biased.
ReplyDeleteYes us older viewers do matter, but i wonder if they will ever wake up and realize that?
ReplyDeleteMore shows that have large overall viewership but low 18-39 demo ratings should be renewed!
ReplyDeleteThe over 60 demographic watches more TV and more importantly they watch more LIVE TV than any other demographic. Not to mention that they are an ever increasing part of the overall TV audience due to extended lifespans these days!
I agree. I'm not a fan of HL (tried the pilot, far too preachy), but I do hope it's renewed; just to send an FU to those jerks at TVByTheNumbers.
ReplyDeleteWhat does TVBTN has to do with HL's crappy ratings ? It's not their fault the ratings system doesn't care about people over 50. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
ReplyDeleteYay DH!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what happened with OUAT last night? :/
ReplyDeleteHa, me too :)
