Well, I did NOT expect them to find Emmet during these 8 episodes...finding him tonight was completely unexpected. (If this is a closed ended series I'd like to tell all the nets...this is how you do it.) It was interesting to see why Lena decided to set off that beacon. Question: Do you think Kurt was there for something more than finding Hanna? I can't decide. I remember he had a mysterious phone call in the pilot but can't remember the details.
I was discussing the previous tries of, well all the nets so far to do limited run series (Happy Town (ABC), Harper's Island (CBS), and Persons Unknown (NBC) ) and how most of them fell apart for me. I was too bored to stay with Happy Town very long. The River has been really successful for me. I would dearly love more than these 8 eps (but I fear it won't happen given the ratings.)
Creeptastic for sure! As long as you suspend your disbelief in a big way, this show rocks... just don't try to over think the timelines... nice end to find an alive and cocooned Emmet and now maybe we'll get something that resembles answers despite all the new questions that just came up in this ep. I know that it's probably a long shot for renewal, so I hope we get something of a satisfying conclusion next week.
The RIVER has been a great ride. I really want closure. This was great TV it had a very good cast and some very very special moments. I really enjoy this show. I am glad they found Emmet "How was my funeral?" LOLOL that was great, I also LOVE dragonflies..............so everytime I see them my heart flutters..............so mystical yes there is magic out there. I hope we have a satisfying ending to this journey...........don't disappoint me ABC.................I totally agree with prpleight (If this is a closed ended series I'd like to tell all the nets...this is how you do it.)
His early phone call was something like "I will make sure they don't find the source of the magic, no matter the cost." Don't know who he was talking to, but it obviously wasn't Hanna.
I like the shorter series shows, I like having something interesting and suspenseful that lasts 1 season, maybe 2 (or just a full 24 episode season). I get angry/bothered when they don't get to do the closure we viewers need (Persons Unknown, I'm looking at you). I really liked Harper's Island.
I agree with you as well. :-) Lost did come to mind, I wish they had kept it shorter and given more answers rather than a lot of loose ends, etc. I still really liked it and followed it through to the end.
Prison Break lost me after a while, I think it was once the Mexico prison came up. I loved the first few seasons though!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
