I really hope that wasn't the series finale, but I have a bad feeling. I kept going "Holy fuck" repeatedly throughout the episode! I knew Lincoln wasn't going to come back right, but I'm glad they saved him.
And I understand why Lena was upset at the end, but don't blame Lincoln! It wasn't his fault.
Holy fuck, that episode was intense. One of my favorite finales of recent memory to be sure. I hope ABC will bring it back for an 8 to 10 episode second - maybe final - season for mideason or summer, but they have a lot of promising sounding pilots in development so I may be fine.
Did NOT expect Lincoln to get shot. But once I recovered I was doing okay...until Lincoln took a bite out of that sandwich with blood on his fingers. That was freaking creepy. I really wanted to subtitle title the ep "The Exorcism"
I adore the whole...river changing itself aspect to the end.
I love this show. So I might as resign myself to no more new eps. Cause statistically speaking...it means it won't get picked up.
I think the "Paranormal Activity" aspect of the marketing (and some bits of the pilot) did more harm than good in terms of attracting an audience. In my personal circle several friends wouldn't try it because of the camera style (something I generally dislike but found surprisingly effective here) and a few others who simply don't like the genre.
It had twists later turned into predictable, and tried to scare me but couldn't. And I found it pretty disappointing that Emmet didn't explain anything and everyone seemed ok with that. A pointless Tv show.
The combination of Resident Evil meets The Exorcist ruined the show for me. It had a simple story line that worked in the beginning but it did what all shows try to do and that is go too far trying to shock the audience.
If the writers would have just stayed with the idea of the natives lurking in the jungle and watching them to see if they were worthy to be left alive, the show would have much better.
I'm taking it as a positive sign that no cancellation was announced today (the day after the finale aired). I think the more time that passes until we hear a decision one way or the other, the better the chances that it will be renewed, even if only for another 8-episode mini-season. **fingers crossed**
I know ratings weren't good, but the show got so much better in the last few episodes and I think it has a great deal of potential.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

And I can't believe they ended it that way!
So when would ABC announce the future fate of the series?
ReplyDeleteI really really hope we will see a second season or a resolution to the cliffhanger... I hate cliffhangers that dont get resolved...!

ReplyDeleteSorry, virtually no chance this will get a 2nd season.

Just my 2 cents.
