    Definitely a step up from the majority of what they've put out this season. Though I was sad to see Ciara go after she turned out to be so bad-ass.

    I know! Who knew. I hate it when they make a character totally awesome just before they kill them. I could have stood having her around a heck of a lot longer if she kept wearing leather and being spunky, faerie fantastic.

    Because it was a million and one thousand steps up from last week, I am going to overlook Bo acting really strange (one second she's all like "I don't want to lead," and the next she's all like "but I totally have battle skills and I wanna be in charge give me the map this is the first time we've ever been in a fight that I haven't hidden behind Dyson") and the fact that the entire episode continued to be super choppy, that the logical inconsistencies added up faster than my credit card bill, that the whole team runs after an obvious trap without any strategy whatsoever, and that these were crappiest fight sequences like ever. It is all GOOD: Ciara turned out to be badass. Kenzi was the loyalest most awesomest sidekick ever, and Lauren managed to only be annoying for a little bit when she came to sleep with, but not really, Bo (I don't blame her for that lapse, it was a really strange four minutes of TV. Heart attack pain is transference? What was up with the knife thing?). I have some small faith that it was all an Obi Wan-type set up. And that's really the biggest take home, not the best episode, but good enough to give me some faith back. Hallelujah!

    Now if we can get them a new editing team and a stunt/fight coordinator...anyone want to start a fund?

    PS. That wolf-spirit thing was really randomly silly, and KHR tried so hard to sell it. It was hilarious. But "Did you miss me?" Yes, I did.

    Steve Cochrane is such a breath of fresh air. The man should write most of the show's episodes.It wasn't perfect (Dyson believing he is the chosen one? Wolf spirit, really?), but it was still much better than most episodes we had this year.

    But I totally agree.  Inconsistencies/general character silliness (why did Lauren not put the venom in the freezer, or preserve it someway at the end there?) this episode gave me so much hope for the final two episodes. And while the wolf-spirit thing was silly, I didn't care.  We got Dyson back (mostly) to his kick-ass self so fine, wolf-spirit is in then...

    You also forgot Trick being his brilliantly crafty self!

    Maybe because it was the only thing sillier than the sacrifice my love storyline. They didn't want to have to go there until they were backed into a corner.

    Did it remind anyone else of Angel (the spinoff) and earning his soul/humanity back?

    Yeah, ripoff. I'm hoping it doesn't last the entire series of him "earning" it back being a champion only to die in the finale.

    One plus to Dyson is that unlike Angel, happy Dyson is totally watchable. Angel was lame when he wasn't all broody and mysterious.

    I liked the wolf-spirit part and reminded me of native american stories. At first I was like where did he go, but it's a fae based series and am open to surreal fae stuff.

    I liked it, except I didn't understand why they suddenly threw in the wolf spirit thing.
    They finally made Ciara cool (and a badass at that) and then killed her off...
    Lachlan basically sacrificed himself, I think to make the Garuda think he's immortal and can't be killed, allowing Bo to kill him him. I liked Lachlan, so we'll see how that plays out, I hope he didn't die for nothing (like turning out there's another way to kill a Garuda).
    Why would they charge into what was obviously a trap. Did the Ash's guards turn against Bo? Or did they die right away? I'm going to have to rewatch it as I had a hard time telling who was on what side.
    Oh and Kensi was kickass tonight :P

     Fairy Warrior Ciara why didnt we see that side of her earlier?loved the episode but i'll miss Ciara and Lachlyn very good characters 
    there were some awkwards scenes like the action scenes where they talk while  the enemy is standing infront of them and the enemy just watches them do they? and Ciara was just standing there gtting slashed open? not at least trying to attack the Garuda?
    Lauren is pretty freaky character lately, i cannot understand how she asked Bo to kill Nadia last week and that will always bother me, i would never date someone who had their old lover killed not even trying to knock them out or something and find a cure?on the other hand she worked for the fae all these years out of love for Nadia supposedly? so strange behavior

    I think when I watched last night I was on strange new episode contact high. I was so happy that Ciara turned out to be cool and Dyson was less of a tool and Kenzi was being awesome that I forgave a whole bunch of crazy. But, in the harsh light of day, I have to admit there was a lot of WTF? Not the least of which were the action scenes. I think Ciara flashed over to stand between Bo and the Garuda and got slashed. I'm trying out watching the fight scenes in fast forward--they make more sense without all the pausing. The rest of it is beyond my ability to rationalize. I love D-man, but after all those great scenes working out on the heavy bag, why does he wolf out and start girl fighting, slapping at people? The team's strategy for fighting the Garuda is rivaled only by the showrunners' strategy for planning the back nine episodes of the season--random, disjointed, and completely illogical. Bo & Co. have been sitting around for months or whatever not talking to each
    other and not planning anything. And then all of a sudden it's like
    let's just charge in there with our clubs and hope for the best? And all so we can kill Ciara, blame it on Dyson, and decide because this attack of rampant stupidity didn't work that Bo is the chosen-one.

    While I agree that Lauren is acting all kinds of odd and they failed to flesh out the mythology and motivations enough to make the wolf spirit says you are a leader thing believable, I feel like Bo is the one that is being wicked odd. Her interactions with Dyson and Lauren were both nuts. And she was really back and forth with the I have to be in charge and I don't want to lead.
    1. Why was she mad when Dyson returned (Hale yes, Ciara even, but Bo hasn't been mad in a while), didn't react at all that he wanted to fight the Garuda to get his heart back, and didn't care that he was "mostly" dead at the end--Kenzi's checking his pulse and Bo doesn't even look at him let alone remember that she said she would come back to help fight the henchmen dudes?
    2. Nadia's barely dead, and the minute Lauren stops by Bo starts in with innuendo and subtext? Weird.
    3. Lauren is in such a hurry to go help Hale that she takes a shower, blow dries and curls her hair, puts on heavy eyeliner, and then when she gets to the Dal does absolutely nothing for Hale.
    4. Why haven't they been experimenting with Lachlan's venom for a while and trying to weaponize it--I'm thinking dart gun would have been pretty easy.
    5. If Bo's succubus powers are the way Lachlan thinks she can defeat the garuda, why doesn't she EVER use them?
    6. I really hated the pissing contest I'm the one who should lead the fight thing. Put all the intel and prophecies together, put all the strengths together and come up with a multi-pronged attack people. Dyson and Hale can beat up the blunt-force trauma guys, Trick is bait, Bo weakens Garuda, Lachlan tries to bite him or better yet everybody is armed to the teeth with synthetic naga venom darts. If we're calling the dark fine, Ryan seems perfect at weaponizing pretty much anything, and Vex is always useful. Whatever.
    7. Why bring Dyson back to us and then make him into the idiot scapegoat for the
    first battle? He didn't deserve to lose Ciara. He didn't deserve the
    brushoff from Bo. 
    8. Trick is really hard to read one minute he looks shocked and the next he looks secretive, does he have a plan or not? If he does, why isn't anybody else in on it and how many people does he intend to sacrifice stupidly by not sharing? Lachlan, Dyson, Hale, and Ciara were pretty big pieces to lose to lull the Garuda into a false sense of security. If they'd known they were a distraction they might have played it differently and Ciara might not be dead.

    I'm done with my round 2 diatribe. I want my superpowered faes to be cool. And that means that they need to be smart, strategic, and good in a battle. But more than anything I want season 1 Dyson back.

    I think Bo trusts Dyson on a mission, but personally keeps him at a distance. She seems to have moved on, but if Dyson gets his feelings back hopefully his love clock is reset and he can fall in love w/ someone else.

    Okay, so, am I the only one confused on how the visit from the Naine Rouge automatically makes Bo the champion?

    I mean, yes, there's the bit about the extinction of the Fae and a coming evil which could be read as the Garuda.  But:

    1. How does killing Trick help with this? It seems counter productive since keeping him alive would signify victory. 

    2. The Garuda is pretty clearly going to be defeated by the end of this season, but, idiocy and blood-king level powers aside, the only actual way we've been given is the Naga's venom (which we have).

    3.  With the exception of being triggered during the Lich episodes, there has been no rational for Bo's Super-Succubs phase.  I mean is this another way to defeat the Garuda? If so, why is that version of her practically plotting the disolution of the Fae infrastructure when that seems more up the Garuda's alley?

    The inconcistencies here just don't make sense, and Lachlan pointed it out when he asked Trick about Bo's vision during the episode....

    I pegged the odd at Midnight Lamp, but it's certainly been a while.

    If my ex-boyfriend told me he was going after the biggest bad around so that he could love me again, I would react to that. Even if it was one of the "wish you would fall of the edge of the planet" ex-boyfriends and Dyson doesn't count as that bad.

There was all kinds of room to run with this and they glossed it. Which was really my big problem, why wasn't all this a major storyline?

    1. I think the killing Trick vision was for audience tension not to actually help Bo.
    2. Exactly! Put that sh--t in something we can shoot from far out of the reach of those fire wings.

    I remember the Ash saying that Bo could defeat the Garuda w/ passion at one point. So maybe her super succubus kiss drains him and then her backup helps take the Garuda down? Saskia pointed out tonight that Bo is a baby fae so maybe she grows up a little bit and gets a strategy together w/ Trick (at least it seems like that in the promo)? I am thinking she learns about her super succubus, but then can't turn it off and tries to get Trick in the end?

    It was a very interesting first confrontation with the Big Bad! 2 heroes are gone. Dyson was the false leader. Bo now knows she is the only one who can win against the Garurda/ Big Bad. Kenzi the only Human was not even thought about. She was so beneath the Big Bad. However, I think she will play a very pivotal role in the conclusion. I suspect the favor the Moragain gave her will be used.

    Then Bo totally brushed him off, not even giving him, like, a nod of understanding that he's been going through some stuff and he has to do what he has to do to get right again. I would have thought that we'd all agree that Dyson need to get sorted, and we've got no reason to think that Bo wouldn't be at least a little interested in having him back. Prior to the back 9 debacle, they'd been having sparks, little ones, but sparks nonetheless.

    I think once she loses control and accepts a greater part of her succubus nature she has a hard time regaining her humanity. But that would make sense, so I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

    But he isn't an ex in that he did something wrong or the relationship didn't work. He's an ex because he sacrificed his heart for her. If characters are supposed to forgive cheating and secrets and murder, I'd think Bo'd forgive saving her life.

    Even if she doesn't instantly think it is a great thing, she should have had some emotion there. The same way she should have had some emotion when he is almost dead on the Home Depot dolly.

    She doesn't really have any ninja skills. If I was baby fae and underdog and believed that my fae nature made me champion, ie, I can attack from position of lust instead of hate, I think I would be studying or practicing using my fae nature as a weapon. Ninja skills aren't attacking while not attacking only succubus power is.

    The "the Garuda's weakness is his invincibility complex" information seemed like the rationale for Lachlan's defeat (and maybe Dyson's too), but only if they have a long game in mind and Trick didn't mind sacrificing Dyson and Ciara to make the faint seem real.

    I agree that timing may be critical. When Bo goes crazy and/or when Trick dies, Dyson may need to lead again. Plus, he's never been much of a backseat kinda guy.

    Sure she should be concerned about someone on the team getting hurt, but Dyson is a big boy and can handle it. 
    I'd also be ticked if the first Garuda battle was a complete fail.

    *shrug* It seemed Lachlan's long game was his poison lasting after him (which based on how freaking fast that stuff coagulates and the general concept that Fae powers don't work after they're dead seems stupid).  But if that was the case, sacrificing Dyson seems even stupider.  I mean, if the "wolf-spirit" was right (best case scenario), it would have been smarter to keep him back as a secret weapon since the Garuda already knew Bo was Lachlan's champion, keep her (Bo) back as a satisfactory distraction during the end battle,  and Lachlan should have just gone in himself so the Garuda could feel all self important since his main enemy came to him  (would have also saved putting Trick in danger).  That would leave three potential weapons/options open instead of quickly fading poison, a half-dead wolf-shifter, and really no way of knowing exactly how Bo is suppose to defeat this thing.

    Plus,Bo said she'd come back for him; so before she left she clearly didn't want him to die.  When she did come back, there was no reaction towards him whatsoever. Not even calling him an idiot to indicate she was pissed.....

    Ha. Didn't say there weren't holes. But is there another way to reconcile all the stupid sacrificing in the last ep without a game plan? My only thought was the audience and the Garuda both are supposed to think all the major players are down for the count but really they aren't. Or are we to think that Trick as well as Lachlan have put all their hopes on Bo (with or w/o chunky naga venom)?

    More like we don't exactly know all the details of Lachlan's suicidal/desperate plan minus it involves his venom. He had been saying for a while that Lauren would have an important role to play and gathering venom seems more like something he could do himself. Trick could reveal what the last bit of it is to Bo (and maybe some origin stuff as a "you can trust me" or relevant material).  Though, I could totally see Trick testing to see if the wolf-spirit was right so as to get full intel on the arsenal at his disposal (but if that was the case he should have told Dyson to come back alive also).

    The mole guy moment, I think, was just Trick living up to Kenzi's nickname form him.

    The berserker only took one hit from Bo. Fights in this show are a one hit and you're out kinda deal. Hale was injured and I'm not sure you can say it invalidated his powers. If Bo was unconscious or rolling on the ground in pain, she'd be useless too. She was pretty useless in front of the Garuda and Kenzi was the one on the ground. All she did was look scared and let Ciara die.

    If Bo can fall back on anything it is that she can heal herself. I'm not saying fighting skills wouldn't be helpful. I'm saying she's never really been shown to have any. And the power she does have she doesn't use.

    I always figured that Lauren's role was going to be to figure out how to make the venom (and/or plague antivirus) work against the Garuda.

    Trick has a number of questions to answer, so it is hard to figure out what the promo people feel is his "deepest" secret. What happened to his wife, his fall from power, knowledge of succubae, Bo's origins, that the Garuda awakening was his fault, etc. etc. I just hope they come up with something good. I don't mind the idea that he developed a secondary plan after Dyson and the group already left. I do mind that he didn't include Dyson in his plans from the beginning, Dyson's been his loyal servant for so long, it is strange to cut him out of the loop.

    Agreed. I wish Trick had told Dyson to come back alive, then at least it would
    have felt like someone on the team was pulling for him, especially his
    king.
