Loved the part with Ted and Barney doing the "broath" and then the gang doing it. LOL at Lily/Robin and Ted/Marshall kissing. Marshall kept pissing me off the entire episode, but then he redeemed himself at the end.
LOL at the Quinntervention. I hate Quinn, though. I don't like her and Barney's plan to mess with the group either.
LOL at the college!group.
And I'm not buying that completely obvious red herring between Barney/Quinn at the end there, writers. Sorry.
I don't even care about Ted's storyline anymore because the writer's are fucking this season up trying to make it "dramatic" and "suspenseful" instead of realistic. Barney & Quinn looked horribly forced with their interactions... it's like NPH doesn't even want to kiss her. I liked the "Broath" part of it and thought it was pretty funny in the beginning but honestly if Quinn ends up marrying Barney I'll stop watching the show. I do not like her character and I do not like how Barney suddenly goes from being "In love" with Nora to being "In love" with Robin (which he has been since season 3) to being "in love" with Quinn. This is going way too fast and I feel like i'm getting Quinn's character shoved down my throat. It's really not working for me at all.
The initial meeting frustrated me SO much - I couldn't believe how whipped Barney was, and it wasn't in a cute "awwww look how much he likes her" kind of way. But I LOVED that it was all a set-up.. Barney and Quinn really are kind of perfect for each other, but before people start throwing stuff at me, I will say I still think he and Robin are meant to be haha.. but for now, I'm enjoying Quinn as a distraction - this episode more than most.
And please please please tell me that Robin being promoted to co-host means we'll get to see more Alexis Denisof! I LOVE Sandy Rivers :)
I guess it is obvious now who is Barney marrying. You all remember he was having second thoughts, wasn't sure if he chose the right bride. Why would he do that if the bride was Robin. They are supposedly soul mates, so if he chose her, there would be no second thoughts. However, if he chose Quinn, there would be some doubt lingering, hence the scenes we saw at the beginning of the season. Thus the bride is Quinn. It also makes sense because Robin is focused on her career now
I'm really starting to feel Quinn is the bride... I've just got the feeling that Barney's story arc is going to involve having kids--Becoming the father he never had-- and it's clear that isn't possible with Robin. Even if you go back to earlier this season when Barney says he likes Robin because she's almost as broken as he is... Liking someone because they're broken and so are you doesn't work... With Quinn he's found someone who isn't broken.
The fast pace of their relationship could also be to quickly build up to the final where she is introduced as the bride.
We also can't forget that it's likely next season we will see the Michael Trucco crush and Robin story arc. They made it clear in Hopeless he will come back.
As far as I know they wanted him back this season, but it didn't work out due to schedule conflicts. That's why they introduced Kevin who was Robin's subsitute love interest this season.
With all those one night stands Barney had, I would be almost surprised if he doesn't already have a kid somewhere he doesn't know about. I'm almost certain that this is going to be a thing sooner or later.
I'm not talking about her comment, I am reasoning on the basis of Barney's actions. So, since you are so sure, explain away the reason why I think she's the bride (I never mentioned her comment)
This was horrible to watch, Quinn is a down right nasty person and I don't buy what she's says or does. She's clearly very shady and manipulating Barney's friends like that was not nice in anyway. Barney & Quinn are so going to end badly and I feel bad for Barney cause he is going to be heartbroken all over again.
What if Quin is a red herring for a red herring? It'd totally screw with your head. Maybe the writers forced Quin so fast on purpose to make you THINK she's a red herring. I think they go well together. I like Quin WAY more than Nora. Nora was horrible and didn't fit in.
Good logic in my opinion. Two "broken" people make a broken couple. Plus, I think becoming a father would be the ultimate way to show that Barney has grown up.
I'm full on Barney/Robin shipper, and nothing will change that. But I really like Quinn, I loved her this episode and she's awesome for Barney. I'm fine with Barney and Quinn being together as long as Robin sorts her feelings (for Barney) out, she needs to try and win him back!
I don't like Quinn. The thing about Barney is that he may be a despicable womanizer, but deep down he's a damaged but nice, caring guy. Quinn has a lot of stuff in common with Barney, but I don't see a good heart in her. I think Barney should end up with someone with a good heart.
This episode made me love Quinn even more! They are perfect for each other ;D And it was actually hilarious how Barney kept saying Ted Evelyn Mosby, and how Marshall kept coughing XD XD
Though it was OK, I do like Quinn character, she definitively interesting and enjoyable to watch but I fear for Barney, as from the last scene it is clear that he want to be OK with her beening a stripper but Barney is not OK with it. Quinn seem to used to information in a very manipulative way to get a ring and way out of stripping as she know there only so long she can do it and make good money before she get to old. I really don't see Quinn beening Barney Bride, as than she have to be around for all next season (8) and maybe more if HIMYM get renewed beyond that ( which could happen as it good rating).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Hated it - It's so hard to watch :(

All this pain and the red herrings will be worth it when Robin's finally revealed as The Bride!
ReplyDeleteLoved it. Barney and Quinn are awesome together. SO curious about what's going on with Ted and Robin.
ReplyDeleteHmmphh I kinda stopped hating Quinn... I'm not sure what happened to me !
ReplyDeleteI don't even care about Ted's storyline anymore because the writer's are fucking this season up trying to make it "dramatic" and "suspenseful" instead of realistic. ReplyDeleteThat marriage comment between Quinn and Barney nearly stabbed me in the throat.

I just don't know what to think of the whole Robin/Ted/Barney quasy triangle! who's the bride? ack!
ReplyDeleteAt least I like Quinn, so I am not foaming about that :D

Just a thought anyways.

ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice that Robin called Ted her best friend? I wonder how Lily would feel about that.
ReplyDeleteOh and it is beyond obvious that Quinn is the bride, the red herring was infarct a reverse herring.
As far as I know they wanted him back this season, but it didn't work out due to schedule conflicts. That's why they introduced Kevin who was Robin's subsitute love interest this season.
ReplyDeleteWith all those one night stands Barney had, I would be almost surprised if he doesn't already have a kid somewhere he doesn't know about. I'm almost certain that this is going to be a thing sooner or later.
ReplyDeletewhat's up with Ted saying he wouldn't see Robin for a long time?? I thought both broath scenes were pretty funny..lol at the awkwardness..
ReplyDeleteYeah, how was that obvious? That comment from Quinn was a complete red herring.
ReplyDeleteI'm not talking about her comment, I am reasoning on the basis of Barney's actions. So, since you are so sure, explain away the reason why I think she's the bride (I never mentioned her comment)
ReplyDeleteSo Quinn is perfect for Barney.
ReplyDeleteGo Team Quarney!!

ReplyDeleteOh, sorry. I assumed you were basing it on her comment. But this is all a red herring. no way Quinn's The Bride.
ReplyDeleteWhat if Quin is a red herring for a red herring? It'd totally screw with your head. Maybe the writers forced Quin so fast on purpose to make you THINK she's a red herring. I think they go well together. I like Quin WAY more than Nora. Nora was horrible and didn't fit in.
ReplyDeleteThat's my opinion as well. Red herring within a red herring.
ReplyDeleteGood logic in my opinion. Two "broken" people make a broken couple. Plus, I think becoming a father would be the ultimate way to show that Barney has grown up.
ReplyDeleteI like Quinn, and don't like Robin/Barney as a couple.
ReplyDeleteThe show has gone so downhill, but this episode has been more enjoyable than others.
I'm full on Barney/Robin shipper, and nothing will change that. But I really like Quinn, I loved her this episode and she's awesome for Barney. I'm fine with Barney and Quinn being together as long as Robin sorts her feelings (for Barney) out, she needs to try and win him back!
ReplyDeleteBut wouldn't their kids (Barney's and Quinn's) be so cute and blonde :)
ReplyDeleteThis episode made me not hate Quinn, but I really don't want Barney to marry her.
