So, basically, Ed Asner was playing the same guy he was playing on the original show, and that particular episode was retconned into a story about Steve's father... have I got that right?
Absolutely fantastic! I wish they'd bring Mary back permanently, or at least as a recurring character. I love her, and miss her. Tonight's episode is definitely in my top 3 of this season so far.
Well done ep. Liked seeing Aryn's Mary again even though it wasn't a big role and I hope that we'll see more of her in the future. Nice guest star of Ed Asner and loved the twist ending that confirmed Danny/the Chief's observation: "Once a criminal, always a criminal".....
The appearance of another pet peeve. What is it with eye make-up (especially on blondes) that make them look like raccoons?
I really really liked this ep! I was expecting a super cliche (cops sister/brother/best friend is arrested and has to be cleared) has been done and done and done, so I was really glad to see they quickly found proof that she was telling the truth.
And Ed Asner was awesome! I suspected that Ed wasn't the harmless old guy he was portraying but I didn't expect that!
I really enjoyed this episode.. lots of surprises! Ed Asner was great. I really loved how they meshed scenes from his original H50 appearance with the current one. The "dead man walking" line was great. All in all this episode had everything I like.. car/surfguments , twists and turns in the procedural, laughs, suspense. Perfect!
I loved this show. It was actually about 1/2 way through before it was suggested that Asner's character was still dirty, but killing the girl at the end was a total surprise and a well done twist. I enjoyed the plot, and agree with prpleight's comment that we found out sooner that Mary was telling the truth, which is what most shows don't do. The grenade cake was great, good job by whatever bakery did that, and I love when they all come together to celebrate things.
Absolutely loved it! Seeing Mary again was great - I love Steve in big-brother mode. I liked the tie-in with last season's case and Danny had some great scenes with the ex-cop. Loved everyone trying to surprise Steve on his bday. Didn't expect that twist ending with March - I liked it though. I believed he had changed.
I must say she looks a lot hotter all cleaned up and happy. The last couple of times we saw her she looked miserable. Granted, she was kidnapped and thrown in a trunk the second time.
I know this is going to be completely random, but when I watched this episode I got this thought in my head that it would be entertaining if Danny and Mary got together at some point. I mean, hiding it from Steve and him finding out and stuff.
Yes I know, he's with that one woman, but I think it would create some more amusing banter. Now don't get me wrong, I seriously doubt that will EVER happen, but I still think it would be good television.
Haha I have to agree on Danno & Mary at teh beginning it did look like he tried to hit on her there trying to outsmart Steve with the board was hilarious stuff. But he's got Gabi so we can't let him be with another girl
Alex looked great in this episode this was before he went right into rehab and with the amount of pain he was going through during filming he looked really good.
It was good to see Mary back and I agree she isn't the way she used to be I'm glad they didn't let her be the annoying girl in this episode and that she sounded a lot different. I hope we get to see more of her in the future hopefully in S3 I doubt we'll see her by the end of the season. There's only 4 more episodes left to go now since they only cut one episode of the season due to Alex's illness.
I sort of saw the ending coming because of the original I wouldn't have trusted him as a nice changed guy at all. But I didn't think he would kill the girl in the end. And him mentioning he tried to talk John into taking the money may have more of a backstory in there askign whether John was a dirty cop after all. And if you wanted to know yes John was the guy that arrested August 30 years ago but in the original it was Steve that did it.
Loved the birthday ending I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Just seeing Alex's face getting into the cake and then the tasteless look on his face when he realised it was salt was funny I just loved it. You can never trust Danny on anything he does for Steve he is the typical prankster in the force
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved it! It was kinda nice to see Mary again. Glad Steve saved her job. The end with the H50 celebrating Steve's birthday was so cute! I loved it.
ReplyDeleteAnd holy crap, the twist at the end! Wasn't expecting that one. He seemed like he had changed.
