Eddie Izzard has become the first person cast for the dramatic reinvention of the 1960s comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The former star of The Riches would play Grandpa Munster, portrayed by Al Lewis in the original CBS comedy. In addition, Izzard would also serve as a producer on the pilot, which hails from exec producers Bryan Singer and Bryan Fuller.

I still can't believe NBC are remaking this. Why oh Why!
ReplyDeleteI am suddenly very interested!!! Though I prefer Eddie in more serious roles
ReplyDeleteI thought NBC already canned this?
ReplyDeleteIt's only to get cancelled, can't hollywood come out with something original. Stitop remaking old tv shows, this one is a classic it's only going to suffer with poor ratings.
ReplyDeleteThis news has made my day...well this and the news that the NHS are gonna take on the Lib Dems XD
ReplyDeleteI prefer it when he's just being himself, his stand up is fantastic :D
ReplyDeleteThey had a change of heart, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI can see it. The undead Grandpa. He could get quite sarcastic and arrogant too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes he is my favourite comedian, never get tired of watching the DVDs of his shows
ReplyDeleteI've been to a few of his shows, my face and belly hurt so much from laughing each time XD
ReplyDeleteDustin Hoffman / Joe Pesci - Grandpa
ReplyDeleteBrad Garrett - Herman
Martin Scorsese - Eddie
Elle Fanning - Marilyn
Kirstie Alley - Lilly
NBC must like shooting themselves in the foot (or worse) unless they plan on putting this on Saturday morning for the kids to watch its never going to make a full season during primetime....
ReplyDeleteit got delayed will film the pilot after the upfronts kinda like Touch last year
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Eddie Izzard but this pilot doesn't thrill me at all.
ReplyDeleteAnd this show kicked off it's casting rather spectacularly.... it'll be hard to top.
ReplyDeleteI still don't know what to think of the show as consept in it's whole, but I think it might have the potential to work, if done right....
