    Wow. That'll probably be the longest title ever. I wonder what this ep will be about.

    I just looked up the German translation of 'snapper' - do they really mean some kind of an animal by this? Or does anyone know another meaning?

    well it's a play on "So long and thanks for all the fish" from the Hitchhikers Guide series... 
    I wonder if red snapper is relevant to the case (besides being a 'red' fish and keeping with the title theme to include red)

    I think it would have been kind of funny for them to use So Long and Thanks for all the Red Herrings  LOL, the only other 'red' fish i can think of.

     "Red Snapper" is a type of fish. The title is a play on the name of Douglas Adams' book, "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish."

     Thanks for your reply =) I just looked up what the book is about and I can't really imagine a storyline for The Mentalist that fits. Maybe it'll just stand for some sort of a goodbye... (or I'm not creative enough xD) - intriguing...
