I don't think anyone will forget or forgive what happened or should of happened at least not after the first 5 minutes. They dismissed it like it was nothing, but it was a lousy thing to do to your audience.I wasn't disappointed I was furious!
I don't get the hate about the final: 1- it's based on the danish show which was 20 episodes long AND with a 6 months break at episode 10. The killer was found after 20 episodes. So EXACTLY like here! 2- We knew pretty earlier on there would be a second season (to match the danish pace), so if the killer was not found in S1, it was pretty obvious it will be at the end of S2, again, like in the danish version. 3- this show pace is an episode=a day and wants to give a credible insight of a police investigation. How many murder case in real life are solved in 13 days?!...So if people were thinking a little, it was again pretty obvious that the Larsen case wouldn't be solved at the end of s1. 4- as for Holder twist. The guy spent the all season saying 'perception is circumstantial'...Plus he's an undercover cop. To me, it's pretty obvious there is much more behind what we THINK we saw.
So stop the hate people and enjoy an intelligent, well acting show :)
It had nothing to do with not liking the acting or the intelligence of the show.It WASN'T even the show,it was what the producers SAID would happen. They failed to live up to what they told the viewing audience.I know what the story is based on,does every show follow it to the letter? If they planned on following it to the letter then again the producer lied.To me she lied from the get go,that's it in a nut shell.....
I don't see how she lied...The show asked a question 'who killed Rosie?'. They never said WHEN! People ASSUMED it would be at the end of S1 like any other cop show but it didn't. Since the show isn't over yet, I don't see the point of being angry with the ending of S1. We will have our answer in time :) The show would have been canceled, Yes, I would agree with you but it's not the case here. Are you mad at the Mentalist for not having the identity of Red John revealed in S1? Same for Jack in 'Profiler' and so on.???
Okay look i stated my case and you stated yours if you really want to get into this we can,but i have an appointment so it will have to wait. One thing i will not get into is every other show that's been on.
I have been through this in the past, chekc out the posts after last season if you want.I made a comment we said what we wanted you might want to let it ride? When i get back i will check. :
I can't be any clearer :) For me, the show isn't over so I don't see the point of being disapointed about sthg that wasn't even promised in the first place ;)
I wasn't disappointed about the end of the first season. I expected it, if you didn't expect it to end the way it did you must have not watched the show since the beginning or you are a stubborn idiot
there isn't miles of gap between excepting and assuming.... What about the show made you feel they wont reveal the killer? The fact that it was a murder mystery to begin with and (sarcasm) all murder mysteries leave you hanging for the answer at the end? Or the brilliant promotional material which kept asking the question 'Who killed Rosie Larson?'?
If you know anything about suspense/mystery stories, then you will know that half (and I am being generous here) of the fun in watching it is the ending...the final reveal. This is a murder mystery and naturally at the end of the season viewers were expecting the reveal as to who the killer was. How is that stubborn or idiotic?
You say expectations are the root of all headache and you yourself say in the first line that you 'expected' something from the story, even if it was something different from the typical viewer of this show.
People were pissed off when the show fucked the viewers by not revealing the killer in the end. If any of those viewers, like myself, have decided to stick around to the second season, it's because they believe the creators have realized the colossal fundamental mistake they have committed in telling a murder mystery and that they will do right by the story this time around. Dont add insult to injury by calling the fans of the show stubborn idiots.
the promotional material was not for season 2, it was for season 1. the show had not been renewed for season 2 when the 'who killed rosie larson' posters started surfacing. It is natural to assume, then, that the answer the the show's tag-line question would be answered at the end of the season.
they show was never promoted on the basis of Red John... They never asked us the question 'who is Red John' and if you are following The Mentalist from the beginning, like me, then you would know that Bruno Heller has said from the very beginning that finding Red John is a series ender and not a season ender.
after asking the question 'who killed rosie larson' in the promotion, they they really believe people will not expect the answer then, i'm sorry to put it that bluntly, but they are idiots... they dont have to say 'we will tell u at the end of season 1'...the promotional material was made when the show had not been renewed, it IS for season 1.
several murders are solved within one-two weeks of the crime... in fact, if it's not solved within a couple of weeks, the chances of it being solved ever reduces...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
