  2. This is a poll that tries to eliminate the bias behind the quality of the show and focus solely on the ratings of a program. For more instructions please see the link below. Have fun!

  3. If any of them is HIMYM, then it has to be C, since HIMYM never crossed the 12M mark.

  4. I don't see how anyone could possibly cancel anything up there, but people did. Maybe A but really even that number is good.
I didn't cancel any of them...

  5.  I cancelled E, since the ratings are dropping alot.

  6. Yes but look where it started 30 million people, and now its about 13 million. That ain't to shabby,in my humble opinion of course,ha! I know which show it is and if they cancelled it i wouldn't cry.... :)

  7. Well, when you consider everything surrounding the season premiere of E, yeah the ratings are down. It still manages an average of 5.5 in the demo, which is good for an aging show that just got a well publicized facelift.

  8. I renewed everything on CBS, its a gold mind!!!

  9. I cancelled A because   of the low 18-49 demo, renewed the rest of them.

  10.  I have no idea which show that is tho, the only CBS show I follow is HIMYM.

  11. CBS is hard.  All these shows would be renewed on any other network.
I renewed everything.  I was going to cancel one show but changed my mind.
My bias of knowing what the shows are was influencing me.

  12. I renewed everything but E. I was going to renew everything since that's what they did, but E looks good. They probably haven't renewed that one yet or will.

  13. I cancelled B and C but renewed all the others.

  14. I canceled E, but not just because of the ratings, even though they are going steadily down. I think it's just time to stop it. And 15 Mio people who are not watching after the first 'new' one can't be so wrong. :-)
But honestly, I wouldn't want to be the one to cancel shows on CBS for real. That must be a tough job. Most of their shows are doing really well.

  15. I don't understand the polling here.  Anything under a 2 in demo is terrible for CBS.  Why are there so many people saying Show A should be renewed?  People must know what this show really is and want to keep it around.  Same thing with Show C.  Other the other hand, Show E is getting over a 5 in demo and most people here are voting to cancel it.  My only explanation for that is anyone who even looked at ratings this year knows exactly what show it is and they can't stand it.

I don't think anyone from SpoilerTV is going to be hired as a net exec anytime soon.  :-)

  16. I think I know what A is - probably would have selected cancel if I didn't love it.

  17. I think people look at the graph without looking at the numbers. Show E, for example, still averages 10 to 15M viewers every episode, which is amazing nowadays. Even if the numbers dropped sharply, almost nothing makes 30M these days.It makes no sense to vote "cancel"!

  18. Cancelled the first one and renewed the rest.

  19.  I cancelled some. It's CBS so even what appears to be high numbers aren't all that high compared to what the network can pull. This network regularly cancels shows that get 11+ million viewers. And because the network skews older in many cases, I think the demo numbers are more related to why they cancel certain shows.

  20.  I voted to cancel but if it is what I think it is than it has already been renewed. And thank god because it's my fave show on CBS of the like 3 or so I actually watch. But yeah, the numbers are horrendous for a CBS show.

  21. I think you are right.  I don't keep track of CBS ratings but I don't think it could be anything else.  I'm also glad it has been renewed.

  22. Unfortunately advertisers don't see it your way and they are the ones paying the bills.  Until the advertisers change, TV execs will have to look at demos to make their decisions.  However, I disagree with the common advertising notion that people 50+ years old are more brand loyal than those in their 20-40's.  I am far more brand loyal than my mom is and I know plenty of retired people who go with the "whatever has the best coupon" on a lot of items.

  23. Would it be possible to use the same graph for each show?  I think people are looking just at the red and not noticing that some shows are 10 million to 30 million while others on the list are 9 to 12 million.  That's a big difference.  It may be easier for visual learners if the graphs were comparable.

This poll was hard. I voted to cancel A and C purely because of the demos...it was the first poll I looked at the demos and not the rating numbers

  25. People over 50 have been so bombarded with commercial brainwashing that their brains have been turned to mush and are no longer susceptible to new brainwashing.

  26. Darn, I didn't even realize the demo was shown. Guess I should have put on my glasses.

  29. Show E definitely sounds like two and a half men. From the premiere, numbers have dropped dramatically

    ReplyDelete
  30. We are not supposed to tell which shows they are, even if we know it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. One issue I have, is that the graph's have different axes, for the numbers. Not that they have different points, as obviously different shows have different nos., but that they are spaced out differently. It has the ability to skew the graphs. In the case of one show, you see a sharp drop, while another show, the graph seems to be steady. Next time you are doing this, make sure the y-axis is spaced the same for all show, so that like can be compared with like. It might make the shows more obvious, but that's acceptable as long as its not shared with others until after the vote, I suggest.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes that's something I've been considering. If we decide to do this again next season, I think I will limit it to one graph per network.
