"I was watching the show and I thought to myself, 'I would love to play a female version of Barney. And more than that, I would love to play off Neil Patrick Harris,'" she tells TVGuide.com. "I think they'd been toying with the idea of a love interest for Barney, so it was a great coincidence that I went in and pitched myself for it. I told them my dream and I'm so grateful that they didn't think I was totally insane! And a few months later, it all came true and now I'm Quinn."

Yeah, okay, Becki. I like you, but I'm not buying anything. You asked for the role and also have a role in a new pilot. That tells me you're not along for the long term.
ReplyDeleteI need it to be the season finale already, please! I can't wait until it's confirmed Robin's The Bride.
This!
ReplyDeleteThere's no way she is the bride - she's just a distraction until Robin is revealed as the bride.
I have just about had enough of this. Everyone is in COMPLETE denial. No, Robin is definitely the bride. There is a chance that she is not the bride, people! Open up your minds just a bit. Now, I'm not saying Robin should or should not be the bride. I'm just saying that you should stop being compeletely naive about this. Stop. Watch the show. You hate any character that even crosses the path of Barney and Robin. The show is NOT about Barney and Robin. I don't care how much you want it, she is not the ONLY possiblily. You can't jump to conclusions like that! You can just say that is what will happen, and that is the end of the story, when the story hasn't even be finished. Look. I'm not saying Robin isn't a candidate, but you should just open up your mind abit. Robin is a fine candidate, and I'm not saying she is in the running, BUT SHE IS NOT ALREADY THE BRIDE.
ReplyDeleteIt's called being positive - no one likes a negative Nelly :p
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, if anyone but Robin is the bride it will be ridiculous.
Nora and Quinn were/are candidates, true, but I honestly can't see Barney and Robin marrying anyone but each other. I am 100% convinced she is The Bride and nothing has swayed me otherwise. I've been hoping she's the Bride since Barney was revealed as the Groom and everything that's happened this season has only convinced me more.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I just think Barney/Robin are endgame. I'm not taking anyone else seriously as a candidate.
When you watch a lot of television, network conventions on shows like HIMYM are pretty obvious and easy to predict. Sometimes they swerve you, but not often, and the build-up is usually a good indication of where they are going.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, Nora and Quinn were never going to be Barney's end-game here. Ignoring that they're guest stars who likely went through pilot season, a sure indication they won't be here for long, you don't build up to something for a year to pay off on it with a character fans barely know and care about. You don't revive and further a story with regulars people have cared about for seven years and then go nowhere with it.
To me, there are only really two options with this Wedding thing: Either Robin is the bride or Barney's wedding is not what it seems.
Wow, I didn't know she pitched the role...
ReplyDeleteI am totally against Barney and Robin getting together, so I have my fingers crossed for Quarney!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Barney wants kids but Robin doesn't, so how could they possibly get together? Just answer this.
The creators of the show have said in a previous interview that Robin being infertile is *not* a dealbreaker for Barney/Robin. And that he doesn't know what he wants. So if Barney loves her enough (and I believe he does), he'll love her without kids.
ReplyDeleteAnd how can you root for someone who is clearly manipulating Barney? It's not funny at all.
Did you not read the interview, Quinn and Barney do have real feelings for each other.
ReplyDeleteBarney and Robin sucked together and I will never root for them.
Yes, I read the interview. And so what if they have reel feelings for each other? Nothing's ever going to come of it - She's just a guest star and is booked for another pilot. That says she's not sticking around.
ReplyDeleteI'm fine with you not rooting for them. I can deal with that. But Barney/Quinn is not endgame.
They never said that she is not sticking around, they only booked her for 8 episodes for now, and as she said she wouldn't mind working at two shows at the same time.
ReplyDeleteIn an interview the execs said that Barney and Robin are not over "yet". I just think it is gonna be like "No Pressure", ending the chapter between Barney and Robin, like they did with Ted and Robin.
Anyways, we will finds out who the bride is in 2 months or so.
And then we can finally put this to rest! I'm so excited for the season finale because I just know I'm going to be happy with it.
ReplyDeleteGuh, this wait is going to take forever.
I have been waiting for the season 7 finale ever since I saw the season 6 finale. I just can't wait anymore.
ReplyDeleteThis! The wait for The Groom's reveal took forever, too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but I already knew that Barney was gonna be the groom. This wait is worse.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree. Very nicely put.
ReplyDeleteCan't help but agree with you there. They seem to bring out a lot of bad in each other, as shown both by their constant arguments when they were together, the manner in which they broke up, and their infidelity. What's good about any of that? I think Barney and Quinn make a decent couple just because I can see the fact of them sort of changing each other in the process.
