Good news. Just one full episode will be McGarrett-less. When Alex went to rehab in March, citing dependency on prescription pain medication due to a shoulder injury, the Hawaii Five-0 team did have to do some last-minute scrambling. But according to executive producer Peter Lenkov, Alex's absence fit in well with the story arc he'd already mapped out. "Things happen; that's the business," shrugs Peter. "We rewrote it."
Alex appears briefly in the April 9 episode, when we learn that McGarrett suspects Joe (Terry O'Quinn) lied to him about being Shelburne. "He ends up leaving a 'Dear Danno' letter before taking off to find the real Shelburne," explains Peter.
Unfortunately, the actor is absent entirely from the next original episode on April 30, the big NCIS: Los Angeles crossover with guest appearances from Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J. When McGarrett reappears on the May 7 episode, he will have located his arch enemy, Wo-Fat, and toss him in the slammer.
Alex also appears in the action-packed May 14 season finale, which begins with the death of a familiar face and also sees the returns of Terry O'Quinn, Tom Sizemore and William Baldwin. And for the record, Peter assures me Alex is "doing great." Good to hear. What's 5-0 without McGarrett?

Ooh, good! I'm glad Alex is doing well and will only miss one episode!
ReplyDeleteThis is good news!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that Alex is doing good!
ReplyDeleteAlso, "DEAR DANNO" LETTER.
Can't wait ! Looking forward to alex's return!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is lori getting killed or Joe, but I'm betting it is lori
ReplyDeleteSo they are saying that it will be episode 21 he'll be back. They are currently filming th episode in Hawaii right now with Craig Robert Young apparently returning in the crossover as Comescu.
ReplyDeleteIt was no surprise how they were going to write out Steve I figured they would send him off to Japan to see Joe or that he found out the truth that Joe wasn't Shelburne. Because I heard from Lenkov in an interview that an upcoming episode was going to be Wo Fat centric so I figured that the Shelburne thing would be sorted out before the big finale.
I don't think it's going to be Lori at all if the finale is going to be about Shelburne it's going to be Joe for sure. If they get Wo Fat out of jail before the finale starts he'll find out the truth about Shelburne and he'll end up killing Joe for sure.
It's 2x21 that Alex is NOT in. He won't be in the crossover. He will be back for 2x22 and the finale 2x23.
ReplyDeleteSo very glad to hear Alex is doing well, that's the most important thing. I'm excited that we get to see him in the Max episode, even briefly, and then again in the last 2 episodes 2.22 and 2.23. Looking forward to these episodes and next season.
ReplyDeleteI find the story line a little a bit weird, because he will catch and put in Jail wofat, I would have liked to see Steve catching Wofat. Plus Joe White I don't think is a federal Agent, and Lori is home security whatever that means. Maybe it will be Joe, but isn't that going to put more emotional pain on Mcgarrett how much can a guy take.....
ReplyDeleteIf only they can make my third crossover episode come true where Steve.Danny.Sam.Callen come together to save Washington D.C. and help Gibbs and his team stop the attacks from hoping.
ReplyDeleteIf CBS can do that third crossover like they did with all three CSI's shows then i would die happy lol....jk
Loving the 'dear Danno' letter.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad AOL won't be absent for long. It's not H50 without Steve.
