I want to know how they explain this in canon. How does it work? Was there another H50 with people who have the same name as this H50? I want this explained!
Ed Asner played this roll in the original H5-0. This character spent 30 some odd years in prison who got out recently and the cops are there questioning him about a jewelry theft that happened recently. Did that help?
I can't wait to see this. I don't understand how people are having a problem with this. I had read that the current H50 will say that he spent the last 30 years in prison and that Steve's father, was the one who put him there. They will show original film from 1975 H50, but the H50 cast from that time will not be shown or mentioned. This is something that TV shows are not able to do, to get the same actor to reprise a role that he did so many years ago is something special. I wish people would just go with it. It's TV not real life.
That is a good question as although I like the continuity of Ed Asner playing the role that he did in the original series, they can't mention that he was originally captured and put away by the "original 50 team" that was also appointed by the governor and also were named McGarrett, Dano, Chin Ho, etc... so I guess we just suspend disbelief and write it off as a "H50 meta moment" ... lol
I have probably said this a lot. The show is actually rebooted so the story could be a little confusing I agree also. It's not a remake. The producers and the cast always say it's a reboot to the original they didn't want to make it as a remake because they wanted to make it different to what the original was and make it more action packed.
The original did have all the characters on there as Steve McGarrett, Dan 'Danno' Williams, Chin-Ho Kelly (which was played by a guy) and also there has been a Duke, and I think Fong (but different first name) there was a male gov. and also I did hear there was a Doctor Bergman. This is what I heard and saw when I watched the Original episode of this again last night.
With what Laura said is what August March was. He was really crooked very evil he did kill 2 people including 1 in witness protection that the Task Force was protecting so that August could get his hands on McGarrett. He didn't actually kill them but he hired somebody to do the dirty business for him
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Good scene I'm glad that Fryer fills in what August March is for the fans who haven't seen the original looking forward to seeing it

ReplyDeleteNice clip with a little backstory on March. Not that keen on seeing Fryer again though.
