  1. Loving everything about the description of this ep... game changing? No other show does it better so often...

  2. Well, I'm excited.  This sounds completely awesome.  I mean, how do The Observers do battle?  And if they exist outside of time, isn't that cheating?  How do you make a move against someone who knows everything before it happens?  Are they officially evil?  Or are they on our side?  And does this mean that's Peter and Olivia's daughter in those pics?  Does this mean Peter succeeded and the timeline he erased himself to prevent is officially off the table?  Who thinks Olivia will be alive, and who thinks the Observer will be proven to be right, and what are the implications of both options?  And how do we flash forward - is it just a random flash forward like last season's random flash back to the Cortexiphan trials?  Or is someone going there?  Or is someone coming back, maybe to change things?  Many, many questions.

  3. I was hoping for a future episode! This sounds so damn awesome, are they battling the Observers because hell yes!

  4. Does that mean grey opening? I just really hope that at least by the finale the blue will be back, too.

  5. Awesome. I was wondering what would be happening and a future episode is just great!

  6. Its the 19th episode, they always go outside the box.Just sit back and enjoy it doesn't necessarily mean this episode is gospel, and that all of it is relevant to the storyline. The writers have a field day once a year and go a little crazy....for us to enjoy!

  7. AWESOME! Game changing battle! Go Fringe team! ;)

  8. Why are we going to 2036? The Day We Died only went to 2026.

  9. This is going to be an Awesome episode!

  11. Ok, so that blond women was in fact P/O s daughter. Early 20's fits the timeline.
    Great stuff!

  12. THIS SHOW CANNOT GET CANCELLED. Fringe is one of the only shows that actually cares about its characters and story lines.

    Anyways, sounds epic.

  13. Why would you think that?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Actually ep 19s are always relevant to the plot as a whole, but they do tend to wander from the seasonal storyline. I have found they tend to point more towards the big picture.

  15. I'm gonna guess it will be a green opening, with red highlights.

    ReplyDelete
  16. A new and improved future... or not.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yep,thats why i said its Not All relevant!

So how are you? Are you settled in your apt?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Absolutely, but I'm guessing that if the Fringe writers are showing us a version of the future, it's for a reason.  All their flashfowards/flashbacks have some sort of purpose.  On top of which, the reason aside, I'm still curious about the future for the sake of itself, like seeing the Observers in their own time.  Or, what might their own time.  See, many questions.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh i agree,and i just said NOT ALL i just shouldn't have said anything.But yes there are many questions,and i can't wait to find out,just like you!!  :)

  20. How do I love a game changer, let me counts the ways!

Interesting that they didn't mention the guest leads!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think this one will relate to the bigger plot...

The first season had "The Road Not Taken" and IMO is the key to understanding time line iterations and being able to see them (Olivia "glimpse" another iteration of the time line and is able to save one of the twins)

But I think since it includes the Observers and "game changer" we should not take this episode lightly...no this "time period" most likely reveals something VERY relative to us.

  22. The funny thing about the future is that these futures can still be futures of the past, or current futures...as many of any dates could have already existed in many time lines and even simultamously to "our" current...But it would be nice if this time period is having some kind of direct effect on "us".

JJ's Star Trek was quoted by Emmanual Grayson in "The Road Not Taken"

PETER: Let me guess. This war, it's against...EMMANUEL GRAYSON: The Romulans. Renegade Romulans from the future. Here to change the timeline. The sworn enemy of The Federation.PETER: The Federation? That would be the United Federation of Planets?I have always believed since that line that some 'future' would play a role in current events.

When you think about the future presented in the 2026 timeline,is like "The Wrath of Walternate" ....Walternate in that time line and in the season 1-3 timeline was very much like both Khan and Nero...out for revenge no matter what.

The Wrath of Walternate, The Search For Peter, and the Voyage Home...

  23.   Your right, can't eat my words, though i wish i could! This might be the episode but i heard that before, and i just didn't take it seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I lust watched JJ's Star Trek again a couple of nights ago!

    ReplyDelete
  25. If they would have announced something different, other than 'the future', I would agree that this would be more of a metaphoric episode.

    But who knows?!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I knew that future had to have more significance somehow. It was so strange to venture there for the finale last year.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh my god...this sounds awesome!! I wonder who of the Fringe team will be time travelling.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Since you guys are most likely right about it being a Casablanca reference, then we should assume that somebody is trying to "escape" from some horrific Government...(something mirroring fascist Germany)

But I wonder if it will also pertain to escaping time lines/time periods and unlocking universes? I can't wait to see how this episode widens the scope for us! XD

  29. An old siggy :p

Cannot. Wait. The Day We Died was amazing and I'm all for them going even further forward in time!

While the title may be lacking in the drug-reference department this year, considering the day this airs, it's quite clear that a certain drug will still be on the minds of many... or rather, in the minds of many...

  35. Ha! I can just see Dark trying to get this worked out..if only it was that simple!   :)

  36. "Fringe is one of the only shows that actually cares about its characters and story lines."

    ReplyDelete
  37. In my opinion, many shows on TV care less and less about their characters developing or enriching and original story lines.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe I'm just lucky but most the shows I watch care about developing their characters.  I don't watch sitcoms anymore though.  They are the worst for stagnant characters, since they are mostly caricatures.

As for original story lines, there are none anywhere on tv, including Fringe.  Though I too get tired of the hackneyed story lines that constantly pop up in sci-fi shows: time loops, alternate universes, pseudoscience, evil corporations, earth secretly controlled by aliens, UFO abductions, AIs turning on their creators, eccentric scientists, aliens traveling a million light years to attack earth for our *some really common item*, etc. etc.

I didn't get past the 1st episode of Fringe, but hearing that it doesn't give in to all the sci-fi cliches does give me a bit more interest in trying it out again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I wonder if Emily Meade will return as Ella for this one?

    ReplyDelete
  40. you didn't go past the 1st episode of fringe?
