UPDATE - This has now been confirmed :)
The official announcement isn't until 10.30am, so don't treat this as gospel yet :)
Former Emmerdale actress Jenna-Louise Coleman is to replace Karen Gillan in Doctor Who as the Time Lord's new companion, it was revealed last night.
The BBC will announce today that the 25-year old has been hired to take over the role, after Miss Gillan's character Amy Pond leaves the show in the next series.
Miss Coleman, from Blackpool, who also featured in BBC school drama Waterloo Road, carries on the tradition of glamorous sidekicks, having been twice nominated for 'Sexiest Female' at the British Soap Awards.

I don't mind her as an actress so if it's true then it's good news.
ReplyDeleteTrust the Daily Fail to try and pi$$ the BBC and Moffat off... 9_9
well... if that's true I don't know what to think of her. I can't imagine her as a companion for 11. And I'd hoped for something not tiny/cute/female. *sighs*
ReplyDeleteEvery primary companion in history has been young and female.
ReplyDeleteThat's never going to change.
Lol, the daily fail. I'm using that from now on ;)
ReplyDeleteHorrible paper :( Did you see them defending Dennis Waterman hitting his wife today :S
ReplyDeleteI did not. My gran reads it (I live with her at the moment) and it's a dreadful paper. They must have a wheel with a bunch of minorities on, and when spun determines who they write about that day.
ReplyDeleteIt's a sad fact that it's one of the best selling papers in the UK, yet it's racist, homophobic and loves Cameron :((
