  1. Good for him. He deserves his own show.

He was my favorite in season 1 of Vampire Diaries, but they don't seem to have any idea what to do with Alaric anymore. Other than have him die every week, that is.

  2. I REALLY dont like the fact the article says "
Davis will be available to make guest appearances in future seasons of Vampire Diaries" GUEST STAR???? :-/

  4. I think the producers are being told that the number of series regulars has to be dialed down, since they have quite a few of them... of course this could mean they are killing him off (another parent figure for Elena/Jeremy bites the dust) or he leaves town since Mystic Falls hasn't brought him any happiness so far... I would say, better have him back as a guest star than to see him leave the show by being killed off... I would totally miss the bromance between Alaric and Damon!

  5. But Alaric is the Giles!  You can't get rid of Giles.  As soon as he leaves, Buffy gets together with Spike and Willow goes crazy.   Then again (if you keep the analogy going)- that would probably please the Delena fans and a psychotic Bonnie could be a hell of a lot more entertaining.

  7.  I hope he still gets some Mystic Falls action. I would truly miss the Alaric/Damon scenes. They are oddly touching.

  9. Nooooo Alaric! You can't leave TVD. Elena and Jeremy can't lose another parental figure and Damon can't lose his BFF!!!!

  10. Bye Alaric. You are going to missed.

  11. Doesn't bode well for Alaric, but they could make it work.  With all the times he's cheated death, though, I figured he'd die for good at some point.

  12. I will be absolutely happy for him if the show gets picked up from the CW (well, first of all, let's hope it's a good pilot *g*).

As a Vampire Diaries fan, I am also sad, though, because this will of course mean the end of Alaric. I am very happy though that the article seems to point at Ric not dying. That's at least something. And some guest appearances are better than Ric being dead.

  13. I guess that means Alric dies in Vampire Diaries

  14. Hahaha... Alaric is Giles. Never really thought about it that way... I recently started watching Buffy (After I had watched TVD s01 and s02) and in a matter of no time I am in season 4, it's a really awesome show... I started watching TVD s03 and saw that Damon calls Elena 'Buffy' in an episode... I was like "Hey, that's a reference to buffy!" I was filled with fanboy joy... :D

  15. But Alaric is no where near what Giles was for Buffy. Giles was in every single episode, giving Buffy advice, helping, researching monsters, helping her train, lecturing her, etc. Giles was a parental figure for Buffy as well as mentor. Atm, Alaric is just the drunk guy who used to be married to her mother and date her aunt. We saw him train Elena for like 5 min out of two episodes and that was it? They don't care to develop a parental bond between him with Elena and Jeremy either. Killing Giles imo, was a mistake but it did affect storylines at least. Alaric' presence add nothing and his absence won't change storylines in the slightest. And Bonnie would never go crazy because the show will never care enough to develop an actual storyline just dedicated to her.

In short, I have no use for Alaric on TVD but I like Matt (Davis) so I think this is excellent news. Provided, Cult gets picked up of course.
