White Collar - Matt Bomer accepts award; thanks husband and sons

White CollarWhite Collar star Matt Bomer officially came out as gay on Saturday when he publicly thanked his partner Simon Halls and their three children while accepting an award.
The star of USA's hit series attended the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards this weekend, and received the New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
“I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," he said onstage. "Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."
Bomer’s partner Hall is a publicist with Slate PR. He represents Ryan Murphy, Neil Patrick Harris and such production companies as Working Title.

This was so cute! And I'm glad he's being more open about his family now. He did it gradually, and like it's no big deal. That's awesome.

ReplyDeleteHe thanked Simon (who is is partner). I don't believe that they are married so to call him husband is incorrect. Probably why Matt didn't refer to him in that way. At some point we would have heard if they had tied the knot.
ReplyDeleteThe children are Simon's adopted kids. Matt is like a step dad but he refers to them as his kids as well. Perhaps if they get married he will adopt them as well? Like most couples with adopted kids do. They are beautiful little boys.

ReplyDeleteI'm cannot understand how actor's personal life can be considered a "White Collar spoiler". Or any TV-show spoiler for that matter. I'm glad for Matt, but I think this news aren't baling on this site.

ReplyDeletetrue. it's about the actor rather than the show... but there are plenty of posts made on this site about actors, it's like not like it's the first one... they even made a post when jared padalecki's dog died! I don't mind those posts really.... people who are interested in them can read it, and I will read the ones that interest me...
ReplyDeleteWho? Simon? Surrogate or adopted so what. The point is they are Simon's. Whose arguing what his name is? Settle down. The point is that they aren't married so it's not his "husband". Until they do get married, that's still his boyfriend. Good grief.
ReplyDeleteA ring doesn't make you married hon. It just makes you a person with a ring :-) "Husband" is a legal term. Maybe they will get married now that it's legal in so many states. That would be nice to see.
