The Vampire Diaries - Episode 3.14 - Candice Accola Interview

TVLINE | When you read the script for “Our Town” and saw the Klaus/Caroline scene, what was your reaction?
Even though we don’t really know what is going to happen, sometimes you get very vague plot points. The writers say, “This is a possibility that we’re looking into.” There’s been a thousand plot points that have never come to fruition, but this one has kind of been tossed around. We’ll see. The characters are just so unlikely [together]. What I love about it is that it does very much harken back [to Season 1] when [Caroline] sits down with Bonnie and is like, “Why does Elena always get the guy? Why is it never me? I try so hard. Why isn’t it ever me?” So it’s a funny thing. Now, finally, Caroline is catching the eye of the guy, but he just so happens to be the evil, bad guy. [Laughs] She finally got what she wanted, but not really in the way that she wanted it.

  1. Next episode sounds very interesting and Klaus/Caroline too, but I don't believe that I could ever want them together. Caroline is probably the nicest person on the show, even though she's a vampire and Klaus, in the end, is monster who murdered many people close to our heroes. No love there.

  2.  This is what she's saying in the interview! She still loves Tyler ! She's taking Klaus down for him and everything he's done!

  3. I just don't see them two hooking up Klaus has done a lot of damage to everybody

  4. I'm just interested in seeing Klaus interact with someone else. He basically shares scenes with the same circle of people. I think that's why that scene he had with Caroline a few eps back made such an impression.

  5. I'm not really interested in a romantic connection between these two, but not because of any love for Tyler.  I just think Klaus is too damaged for an actual committed relationship - who the heck could trust him?  But as a friend?  I could see Caroline reaching out in that respect.  She's really compassionate, and after losing her father, I could see her looking for a project.  And Klaus is sticking himself riiiiight into the middle of it.

  7. Well, I am quite interested in this Klaus/Caroline thing. Its coming back to Season 1, and guys... Damon was a MURDERER too and every fan (me included) loves him, there is something terrorific about this show that makes you forget your morals and love the killer :P Anyway, I am happy that they are giving Klaus a new dimension, I am quite intrigued for this character and I hope they show us some of his humanity and the reason he is like that (I think eternity does that, like you change your perception of time and the importance of human's life)

  8.  Ever since that Klaus / Caroline scene, Accola's need to downplay the whole thing to the press has become a full time job.  It has to suck answering the same questions over and over again.
