  1. I voted for:

Inglorious Basterds - Perhaps Tarantino's best film.
Slumdog Millionaire - Not a fan of either, but I prefer Slumdog.
    The Pianist - Classic film
The King's Speech - A great British film with some brilliant performances.
Finding Neverland - One of Depp's best performance!

  9. Slumdog Millionaire and The Pianist. Both enlightened me as to conditions outside my safe and comfy world, and both were excellent produced and acted.

  10. My votes:

Inglourious Basterds (it should've won Best Picture that year)

Chicago (I didn't see it, but I hated Slumdog Millionaire)

The Pianist (Adrien Brody's only decent performance)

The King's Speech (The acting was excellent)

Finding Neverland (Should've won more than one Oscar)

  11. Here we go:

    1. Inglorious Bastards (I've never seen it, but it wins by default. Nothing could possibly be worse than Atonement).

    2. Slumdog Millionaire

    3. The King's Speech (one of my favourite movies ever. Seriously, if you haven't seen it, why not?).

    4. The Pianist

    5. Chocolat (I know it's sentimental and a bit twee in places, but I love it).

  13. Easy polls again today... for me at least.

    Inglorious Bastards
    Slumdog Millionaire
    The King's Speech
    The Pianist
    Finding Neverland

Each one of those movies was deserving of Best Picture of their year and a number of supporting or directorial awards too!

The ones I did not vote for all were good in their own way but overrated and in most cases were more nominated for being a product of their time than a timeless film classic.

  14. Inglorious Basterds - no question whatsoever here
Slumdog Millionaire - didn't care for either, but Slumdog was at least watchable
Didn't watch these 2 and don't care to watch either
The King's Speech - haven't seen it but I've seen some good scenes from it
Didn't watch these 2 and don't care to watch either

  15. Inglorious Basterds, though I liked Atonement I think Inglorious Basterds was a lot more enjoyable

Slumdog Millionaire, I have no time for Chicago

Brokeback Mountain, beautiful movie, a sin it didn't win.

The King's Speech, its been too long since I saw Mystic River to vote for it

Finding Neverland, definitely one of Depp's best films

  17. Community, lalala, March 15, lalalala, still on Thursdays, lalalala... sorry, here's my votes :

    - Inglorious Basterds : awesomely entertaining. One of Tarantino's best (Pulp Fiction remains at the top spot).
    - Slumdog Millionnaire : a captivating story magnificently filmed. The cinematography is top notch as well.
    - The Pianist : seen it a long time ago, but I remember it was very poignant (and I haven't seen Brokeback).
    - The King's Speech : not a huge fan but I liked it a lot (and the acting is great), plus I didn't like Mystic River.
    - Finding Neverland : I don't remember much, honestly, but I remember it wasn't bad, and I haven't seen Chocolat.

  19. Argh!  I only like 4 of these movies and two were against each other.

Abstain - Hated Atonement and never saw IB
Slumdog Millionaire - because it was good for an Oscar movie and I really did not like Chicago
Abstain - Didn't like BM and never saw Pianist
My two favorites of the day are in this contest - I went with Mystic River because I thought it was better/more ambitious overall but I thoroughly enjoyed King's Speech.  Besides MR could use the votes.
Finding Neverland - up there with Mystic River and King's Speech in Oscar movies I actually enjoyed.  Those are few and far between.  Nothing like a Johnny Depp doubleheader though.

  21. Iglorious basterds. Hands down! One of the finest work of the one and only Quentin Tarantino
    Chocolat. I adore this film.
Still haven't had the chance to watch the rest carefully, so no vote here.

  22. I'm late for this voting. Too bad.
And I'm sad to see Brokeback Mountain lost to the Pianist, but I think it's what was to be expected of this pairing.

I quite like how the rest of the votings turned out, though. Would have been my choices, so having missed the voting doesn't seem too bad after all (not that my one vote would have made a difference, but still *g*)
