ReplyDeleteI voted for:
Black Swan - much better than Avatar with a phenomenal NP performance.
Lord of the Rings 3 - Easy choice!
Up - Love LMS, but Up won me over on first watching. Such a great Pixar film!
The Help - Never got the Juno buzz, liked The Help
Lord of the Rings 2 - Much better than Brokovich
Benjamin Button - Slightly preferred it to MDB
My picks
ReplyDeleteI voted for:Black SwanLord of the Rings 3Up JunoLord of the Rings 2Million Dollar Baby
So, most of these were easy!
ReplyDelete1. Avatar (in a 'best of a bad bunch' sort of way).
2. LotR3 (there's never going to be any competition there).
3. Up (My favourite Pixar movie of all time).
4. Juno (I've never seen The Help, and I suspect I would like Juno more anyway).
5. LotR2 (not much competition here either).
6. Million Dollar Baby
I voted for:
ReplyDeleteBlack swan
LotR: Return of the King
Up
Juno
LotR: The Two Towers
Benjamin Button
i havent seen all the films so voted for the ones i have and liked:
ReplyDeleteBoth LOTR
Avatar
UP
Unfair to vote on ones i have not seen.
I voted...
ReplyDeleteAvatar
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Up
The Help
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Benjamin Button
Good luck everyone!!
I have not seen Black Swan but I have heard it's pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI also voted for Benjamin Button for the same reason.
1.Avatar - The only poll that gave me trouble.Black Swan was also amazing but Avatar has a slight edge over it.
ReplyDelete2.LOTR:The Return of the King - So incredibly easy.
3.Up - Best Pixar movie ever!
4.The Help - For some reason I wasn't blown away by Juno, like most people.
5.LOTR:Two Towers - I will only vote against a LOTR movie when they face each other(I better start thinking).
6.Million Dollar Baby.Benjamin Button was a good movie, but a little too long and tiring.
Black Swan, LOTR (in both), Up, The Help and Up!
ReplyDeleteMy Picks:
ReplyDeleteBlack Swan
Moulin Rouge
Little Miss Sunshine
The Help (Hopefuly will win the real Oscar next week!!!)
Erin Brokovich
Million Dollar Baby
So not a fan of Lord of the Rings- I was tortured in high school and was forced to read the trilogy for my senior year summer reading. I barely got through book one.
Yummy, polls. I prefer poles, the ones you dance around, but polls are great too, thanks The Adam.
ReplyDeleteI voted for :
- Black Swan (a no-brainer : Avatar's technology is splendid (and Horner's score too), but the rest isn't).
- The Return of the King (I watched only 20 minutes of Red Mill, it's just not my kind of film).
- Up (very hard choice, since I adore Little Miss Sunshine, too, let's say it's a vote for Pixar as a whole).
- Juno (well, The Help is fantastic but I have a very vivid, positive memory of Juno).
- The Two Towers (I haven't seen Erin Brockovich).
- Million Dollar Baby (while I very much like Benjamin Button, Million Dollar Baby was more powerful).
Pretty ease to choose these though later rounds will get so hard!
ReplyDeleteBlack Swan. Avatar is one of the most awful films I've ever seen at the cinema.Return of the King, though I do really love Moulin Rouge as well.Up because it is heartbreaking and funny and perfect.Juno, well I didn't like it that much but I have no desire to watch The Help. The Two Towers all the way!Million Dollar Baby, that movie is so good.
Avatar, LoTR, Up, and LoTR again.
ReplyDeleteI voted:
ReplyDeleteAvatar- unfortunately I haven't had a chance to watch Black Swan yet
LOTR 3
Up
The Help
LOTR 2
Million Dollar Baby
My votes:
ReplyDeleteBlack Swan
Return of the King
Little Miss Sunshine
The Help
The Two Towers
Benjamin Button
Voted for:
ReplyDeleteAvatar
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (Are you kidding me?)
Up
The Help
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Curious Case of Benjamin Button
This was very easy today because for most pairs I either hated or hadn't seen one of the movies. My votes:
ReplyDeleteAvatar - not just because I really enjoyed it but also because I hated Black Swan with a passion
LotR3 - best in the trilogy
Little Miss Sunshine - although I did like Up...well the parts I saw when I took a squirmy 3 year old to see it
Juno - the movie was sheer perfection and though it has no chance of winning the top prize here, I still hope it does well
Erin Brokovitch - I thought the 2nd LotR movie was weak. Originally I thought it was because I wasn't feeling well when I saw it, but in several rewatches I'm left with the same opinion.
Abstain - didn't see either movie
Black Swan
ReplyDeleteThe Return of the King
Up
The Help
The Two Towers
Benjamin Button
Black Swan (excellent movie although Mila Kunis should have received an award !)
ReplyDeleteLotR3 (the best of the trilogy)
Little Miss Sunshine (a rough diamond !)Juno ( Didn't see The Help so the choice is already made)Erin Brokovich ( I saw LotR's trilogy but Julia Roberts gives in this movie her best performance)Million Dollar Baby
Avatar-wasn't thrilled with it but i liked it better the Black Swan
ReplyDeleteLord Of the Rings Return of the King- Seriously? M.R. didn't come close
Little Miss Sunshine-What a great film they all shined
Juno- I must admit i didn't see the Help but Ellen Page was outstanding
Erin Brockovich- Julia rocked this movie and the Two Towers was don't damn long
Ben. Button- really didn't care for Million Dollar Baby,i should say i'm not a fan of Swank
Easy decisions for me today. Avatar may be the most overrated movie of all time along with Titanic. so...
ReplyDeleteBlack SwanLotR: Return of the KingLittle Miss Sunshine - One of the most underrated movies ever. Plus animation does NOTHING for me.The Help - Juno was cute but The Help has meaning and gravityLotR: Two Towers - Best of the LotR seriesMillion Dollar Baby - I though Benjamin Button was good, but overrated due to having Pitt.
Good to see I'm not alone in thinking Avatar was not only overrated, but actually bad!
ReplyDeleteGroundbreaking VFX cannot save a film with terrible writing, plot and acting.
Avatar - while not the best movie ever, I at least was entertained during it
ReplyDeleteLord of the Rings 3 - no brainer
Up - one of my favorite Pixar movies
The Help - didn't care for Juno and I've heard good things about The Help so I'm willing to give that the benefit of the doubt
Lord of the Rings 2 - another easy one
Million Dollar Baby - Clint Eastwood > Brad Pitt
It is still a travesty that The Dark Knight does not qualify for this poll
ReplyDeleteI voted for Up; LOTR:Return of the King; The Help; LOTR:Two Towers. I thought Little Miss Sunshine was cute, but in no way an award winner, while Up made me cry and cry. Didn't care for Million Dollar Baby. Had no interest in seeing Black Swan or Avatar or Benjamin Button or Erin Brockovitch.
ReplyDeleteThe Lord of The Rings is the best movie ever *__*
ReplyDeleteI voted for:
ReplyDeleteBlack Swan (so much better than Avatar!)
Lord of the Rings
Little Miss Sunshine (but I love Up, such a great Pixar film)
Juno
Lord Of the Rings (I loved Erin Bokovich, but I'm a huge fan of LOTR)
Million Dollar Baby
Black Swan
ReplyDeleteLOTR: Return of the King
Up
Juno
LOTR: The Two Towers
Million Dollar Baby
Black Swan (cos I thought Avatar is stunning visually, but other than that it has nothing compelling)
ReplyDeleteMoulin Rouge (sorry Lord of the Rings 3, but whatever contest Moulin Rouge is in, it will always get my vote)
Up (much better than Little miss sunshine)
Million dollar baby (easy choice here).
I think Juno and Erin Brokovich are just OK too, but I haven't even had a look at the other 2 films, so I don't know.
Seriously I came out of the cinema going what the hell was that? It was terribly predictable and I kind of felt embarrassed for everyone involved!
ReplyDeleteIf I want to see that story again I will watch the original and superior version, Dances With Wolves! XD
ReplyDeleteOkay, sure they were not blue or aliens, but think about it. Same premise, better actors and writing, and just better in every possible way. Well, Avatar did have prettier colors....
Oh yes completely it was so like Dances!
