Thanks to Doug for the heads up that The CW will be showing Supernatural Repeats on Thursday 23rd Feb and Thursday 1st March in place of the The Secret Circle repeats.

  1. I hope Supernatural had moved back to Thurdays...:/

  2. CW testing the old VD/SPN duo, or just promoting SPN ?

    Either way, that's great news.

  3. Shit...i was scared for a second....thought TSC was replace tonight by the supernatural! XD
    Gosh...thank god i read wrong!

  4. I take this as bad news for The Secret Circle more than a possible move to Thursday for Supernatural.

Maybe it's a sign of less faith in TSC. CW is well aware that SPN repeats will pull "solid" numbers so it is the obvious choice to takeover that spot if they no longer care enough about TSC to air repeats.

  5. Not a good sign for TSS its female demos suck and perhaps its not a safe as it seems

  6. Taking into account the numbers of other CW shows, I'm not that worried.

  7. Really? More SPN? (Still getting the regular repeats on Friday, I assume.) Who knew the CW had it in them to do such a thing?! heh. I'm surprised they didn't just double up the vampires or something.

  8. shush, dont give them any ideas! lol

  9. Finally the CW is starting to appreciate Supernatural, obviously having more faith in its repeats rather than those of Secret Circle; and who can blame them.

The newer shows other than VD have performed pretty badly on so called good nights.

  11. SPN is second in CW. About time!! maybe they're planning to erase the fridays nights...

  12. I'm totally cool with that :) I hope it means a move back to Thursdays. As much as I enjoy it being on weekend nights now, I would much rather it be on a night where I can actually watch it when it airs. I record it b/c i always have plans friday nights

  13. Wow. That's awesome. Even if I kinda like where The Secret Circle is going story-wise.

  14. This is great! Supernatural deserves any extra air time it can get.

  15. Regardless of why it happened, it's great news!  Maybe the CW woke up after SPN won both of its categories in the People's Choice Awards.

  16. Who knows, but a tidy bit of money was spent in the trades advertising SPN.  They are getting some recognition from the head of The CW.  He likes the show.  Be itneresting to see what is going on.

  17. I'm delighted with this but can't find the source or sources that provide corroboration to Doug's news (I'm not questioning Doug's report).

Alice Jester (on her twitter) only says "reliable sources" - not direct from The CW - and until she has confirmation, she's not add the news to her site TheWinchesterFamilyBusiness. I know that two fan sites, maybe more (but not Supernatural.tv as yet) Ksite and WinchesterBros are reporting the same info but neither name their source. Alice doesn't name the "reliable sources"and I don't tweet I just follow others tweets. My never reliable Comcast TV schedule still lists a TSC rerun (on the 23rd) as does TVGuide.com but I know from experience that both of those sources sometimes take up to a week to "update" their TV Schedules. Even Deadline.com is only reporting yesterday and today's CW Pilot Casting updates.

  18. Great news, Supernatural deserves it!!! I barely watch TSC once, always hoping it will get better - it doesn't.
SPN was always under appreciated on CW, glad to see this is starting to change.
I wish they would do TVD/SPN on thursdays again...

  19. I reallly think this new guy thats head of the cw likes us. Two SPN days in a row!

  20. Wonder if this means SPN will move back to Thursdays next year or something?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Woo hoo!  Now all we need to do is get Nielsen families to watch it then.  Looks like the CW is testing out schedule changes, not that I'd expect them to pair VD and SPN together again.  That would be the waste of prime launching space.

  22. This doesn't mean TSC is cancelled?  I would be heart broken.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Odd.  Looks like The CW may be doing a little experimenting with their lineup.  No matter which way you slice it, it's not good for The Secret Circle.

  25. Supernatural Thursdays just feels right!

  26. Great news but it kinda makes you scratch your head, huh? Not that i dislike TSC -- never watched it -- but what does pulling repeats and replacing them with SPN repeats accomplish. But, I'm not gonna complain. And I said my sincere thanks to MarkPed and the powers that be at the CW. A double dose of Winchesters (even if they are repeats) is a good thing in my book. :)

  27. Thur fine with me or they are making up for last year crap they pulled I will never forget CW NEVER!

  28. Wow, this is actually pretty interesting.  I'm not sure what this means for SPN, but I can't see it as bad.  Just.. Odd.  I've never heard of a network doing this, replacing repeats of one of its newer shows on prime-time with repeats of its oldest running show.  Truthfully though, SPN/VD was just a good combination.  I really hope this means SPN gets season 8 and will be on Thursday.  Though honestly, I can't see them moving a show that's doing reasonably well on fridays (rare) to another day.

  29. I don't see the CW ever pairing VD and SPN together again unless VD starts tanking.  They need VD to launch a huge hit for them so they are going to put their most promising pilot after VD.  My guess is Arrow.

  30. Could you tell us where?  I'm a big fan of Supernatural getting network recognition.  Was this about the People's Choice Awards or was it something else?

  31. If Supernatural moves from Fridays, and I doubt they do, I would say they are more likely to go back to their original Tuesday night slot.  The only way SPN changes nights is if they are being used to anchor a new show and I'm not sure what the FCC would say about SPN in the family hour.  In all honesty, Supernatural's being on Friday is a real benefit for them because it increases their chances of getting a ninth and tenth season.  Plus there were a few times when the CW wasn't dead last in ratings on Friday night and I don't see them wanting to give that up.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I can't see them canceling TSC but they will absolutely be losing their cushy spot after VD.  I'm guessing they are headed for Tuesdays or worse case scenario, Fridays.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree, Daphne, TSC I *think* TSC will be renewed but itwill  be moved from it's Thursday time slot next season. TVD will likely stay at 8 PM on Thursday and will launch a new series that will be hopefully a better performer longer term than TSC has been.

To be honest, I think The CW would be better served by renewing Nikita at least for a short season and TSC because if The CW moves TSC to Fridays I think will die quicker than Nikita and what purpose would that serve for The CW? (Rhetorical question) Save some $$$ promoting  another new show and give TSC a better timeslot than Friday. Then in the TV season Fall 2013 - Spring 2014, if TSC is still disappointing by next season's standards, either cancel it or ship it off to Fridays. I still think that until The CW finds the next solid performer, SPN is safe for another season (meaning S9) at least providing SPN can convince JA & JP to re-up for another year or so.

Depends how deep pockets The CW has for next season and whether Mark Pedowitz wants to keep a solid performer on Fridays (SPN) or wants to pair the "renewed shows" with low performance expectations on Fridays (ex. renew GG and 90210) and move SPN to another night (Monday or Tuesday? at 9 pm) OR take the risk of launching a new genre show at 8 pm on Friday (Arrow? *Not B&TB* - I don't care for Kristin Kreuk but I do like Katie Cassidy) and keep SPN on Fridays at 9 pm. That's what I would do if Nikita and Ringer and at least one other show are cancelled.  In fact I wouldn't be shocked if all the new shows and at least one older show get the boot.

  34. I named that site as one where the schedule changes were posted I made a comment last on the "page" - I assume you did, too. But neither Ksite nor WinchesterBros named their source. Alice Jester must be satisfied now with the "source" becauseshe  added the info to her site about 8:30 -ish PM. I, like her, don't necessarily think this means anything dire about TSC as the show remains the #2 show on average for The CW but I do think it is a prelude to moving TSC to another night next season.

I was surprised that TVD & TSC weren't returning with new episodes until 3/15 and Nikita and SPN return March 9, 2012 then I thought - duh - Nikita & SPN are getting 23 eps and TVD/TSC 22 this season, so after the four shows are "paired up again" they can likely follow similar schedules until the end of their seasons.SPN *was* planning a 2 hour season final like the SMV series final last year but I have no idea if "Nikita: is doing the same or like SPN last year showing the last two episodes back to back.

  35. The reason to have a DVR, watch what you want, when you want.  I would be lost without mine, since Friday is usually SPN, Fringe & Grimm all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I will watch SPN no matter when it is on, I even watch the repeats on the cable channels, if SPN is showing it will be on my DVR.

  37. I'm going to give Arrow a chance, but it would have had a better chance with me if it had been Justin Hartley...

  39. More Supernatural is wonderful news!

  40. Both TV guides that I have looked at have said different episodes will be airing this week. Thursday, it is listed as the wedding episode and Friday is when Sam hooks up with the sheriff. One guide says this and another says that there will be no repeat on Thursday and just on Friday. I hope I get twice as much this week because I want it and I deserve it!

  41. Maybe it has something to do with how well the marathon on President's Day did...
