The Ricky Gervais Show, the animated comedy series based on the record-breaking podcast, returns to HBO for its 13-episode third season FRIDAY, APRIL 20 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT), with other new episodes debuting subsequent Fridays at the same time. The voices are recorded by Ricky Gervais, his longtime collaborator, Stephen Merchant, and Gervais’ colleague and friend, Karl Pilkington, whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines.
The Ricky Gervais Show animates the podcast that first appeared on the Guardian website, subsequently earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads. In March 2011, the podcast reportedly passed the 300 million download mark.

Very much looking forward to that. Watched two season one episodes yesterday and I was in tears again. Ricky's laugh is contagious.
ReplyDeleteHis laugh is contagious! Half the time i have to pause the recording,i laugh so hard i can't breath ! Have you checked out An idiot Abroad?
ReplyDeleteCannot wait, think i will need and oxygen tank on stand by for this season!
ReplyDeleteSure have and like it a lot too. Karl is just fun to watch, especially when thrown into an unusual environment and Ricky always comes up with creative ways to "torture" him.
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect Karl to be that unwilling to try things, and oh yeah Ricky really does find ways to torture him, that in itself is something to watch...
ReplyDeleteI still give Karl credit for just thinking about going along with this,i could never do it.I would probably have a heart attack, then die laughing!
COnsidering Karl doesn't like to going to the doctor because he's afraid he might get a rectal examination this shouldn't be too surprising ;) But Karl's mind sometimes is difficult to read.
ReplyDeleteI was watching 1x01 yesterday and had to pause and rewind sometimes because I was laughing so hard. But the part when Karl described the monkey in space and how he operated the rocket by pushing left and right buttons killed me. I'm laughing even writing about this...
I often wonder what brought Ricky and Karl together, were they boyhood friends?I think i will have to find out..btw can you really blame Karl for not wanting a rectal,Ha!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know Ricky and Stephen met him when they were working for the XFM radio station in London. Karl was their producer and that's how things got started with the podcast in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI was almost afraid you were going to tell me they were related, that would have been too funny! Thanks for letting me know... :)
